Have you tried both the 901 and 510? If you could only choose one, which one?

Please only answer if you've tried both. I am thinking of renting a table at the local flea market to sell kits, not to make money, but to help get the word out to smokers. I just want to buy a few kits to start with and I just want to offer one kind at first. Of these 2, which do you think would give a person the best chance of switching over? Thanks in advance:D

In a starter kit I think the 510 is better than the 901 because 901 batteries kinda suck. I use 901 attys on my mods and prefer them over the 510. If I was starting tomorrow knowing what I know now though my first kit would be a kr808D-1. I use the kr8 cartos with an adapter on a 901 mod and like them quite a bit. The kr8 has better stock batteries than either the 510 or 901.

Vapor is the best 'first impression' on newbies - 510 hands down. eGo kits would be best but more $$ of course. You could be using an eGo with an LR atty for a 'advanced demo'.

Thanks so much everyone for your thoughtful replies. Will have to look into the 808. I tried the carto only once at a kiosk...just a couple of puffs. Didn't like the feel of metal in my mouth (reminded me of braces in High School).

I'm shooting for setting someone up for the same cost as a carton of cigarettes, which here in Missouri is just under $40. Thanks to all I've learned from ECF, that's very doable.

The 510 is my favorite and the one I get for my new peps.

It works great, available in different colors, cartos are excellent, attys can be used on mods if, or rather when, a person decides to expand vaping horizons.

I'm still using my original kit from cignot and I got it in October 2009.

Good luck on your "spreading the word" about vaping. That's great!!!!!

To me, this is like asking men if they prefer blondes or brunettes. Perhaps a higher percentage (at least of the "gentlemen":D) will say blondes. But you might prefer brunettes ... or redheads.

901 atty on a KR808 Mega battery, no adapter needed. Great warm vapor and unsurpassed flavor. Also lasts 8 hours +
I am more in your camp, Bob. But, if the 901 is the brunette in my analogy, I like redheads (i.e., the 801) even more ... and love both of them on the new CigEasy Elegant.

I also vote for the 510. My first purchase was the automatic 901 and I was not impressed by it's longevity. If you are looking for a great price for multiple kits, checkout "e-liquid cn web shop". I haven't signed up with them so I couldn't check out their shipping (it's in China), but it might be worthwhile.
(I don't have enough posts for a link to work, so you can google "e-liquid cn web shop".)

I vote for the 510 as well. I had a 901 early on and it just "felt" cheap and didn't last long. I believe it was a DSE901, and I just had so many issues. Attys didnt last long, batteries quickly died. Now I have a 510 that I have had since about November and some of the attys are still going strong. Well, maybe not as strong as in the beginning, but I don't have any original 901 attys that lasted. Only thing that really sucks on the 510 is battery life. I can only get 1-2 hours on one battery. But you can bypass that, get an eGo or even an XL eGo and get 12+ hours on one charge! They work amazingly!
