Here is part of what I posted over there (I think this is their real problem with vapers)

"My best guess is that they are jealous that you still get to indulge in a habit (yes vaping is a habit) that gives more pleasure (yes more pleasure) than traditional cigarettes, is a fraction of the cost, likely has minimal negative health effects (if any) and has such a great community"

Anyone else agree that this is really about their jealousy that we have found a 1,000,000% better alternative to smoking?

His reply is ridiculous. What is up with this "slave" bull-ish. I don't get it. We are not slaves, we enjoy nicotine (and yes we are addicted, but not everyone dislikes nicotine just because they are addicted to it). This isn't an illegal drug like something I can't say on here. We don't lose our homes, cars, family, etc from vaping. This guy is so brainwashed and so high and mighty that he can't understand anyone that doesn't follow his exact method for quitting cigarettes.

Please explain to him that smoking requires combustion and vaping is not smoking. Vaping is actually the vaporization of a liquid, not combustion of paper and all the other chemicals in cigs.

I used to be a member on another forum that was hostile to vaping too-I can only imagine the comments-seen 'em before-sometimes just not worth trying, but you did, and that I hope helps maybe 1 person struggling still(wishful thinking but maybe more!), ya'll are brave to try. I'd probably be hostile if I was cold turkey quit again too-not to vapers and only vapers, but to life and everyone in general

The one member - Dale - is indeed very hostile. He's been posting back to me all day, and even through his message board. His quit method is, "One day I decided to quit and I quit." I told him that was good for him, but it doesn't work that way for everyone, and certainly not most people. It's a holier than thou community over there.

I keep checking in, mainly out of curiosity.

I'm not really sure what to say about that. Some supportive community for people trying to quit smoking, huh?
