I know everybody is different in transition difficulty. I got lucky on my first try. I have been using the 510 for the last 4 + months and have not craved a cigarette. pack and 1/2 for 30 years.
I think finding the right e-cig and liquid is key. the 510 is known for its throat hit. the liquid strength plays an equally big role--I use 18 mg and that works for me.
I would definately start research other e-cig models and liquids--

hope that helps ;)

It took me about a month to wean myself. Take it at your own pace and you will do fine. If you want an analog, have one. Don't pressure yourself!!! vaping is wonderful but sometimes it takes one a little more time than others to get there!!! Get some higher nic and a flavor of juice you really like and I think you might be happier! Just don't give up!

Everyones different. Some can quit right away others it takes time & a few still continue to smoke socially.
I've got no experience with Blu but I might suggest a few things. Check out some of the ecigs that are getting high marks from users like the 510, 901 or 801 styles. Decide if you want a manual battery or automatic. IMO manuals provide a fuller more satisfying "hit" but to each his/her own. Also you didn't mention what mg juice you're using. Again, IMO, a 1.5 pack/day smoker would probably get satisfaction from 18mg+ juice. Again everyones different. Some use 36mg while others can't use anything higher than 18mg.

By only smoking 10 or so cigs a day, you're already doing better than before. And just like when you first started smoking, you probaly tried various cigs before settling on your brand of choice, juice flavor and nic content is trial 'n error as well.

Just remember it's not a race. Give it time & let it come to you.

I will say that I was able to drop cigs the moment I started vaping using 18-24mg juice & occasionally hitting the 36mg stuff. I was a 1.5 pack/day Mrbl Red smoker. For the first month I craved a lot but was tolerable. Month 2-3 got easier. Month 4-5 rarely did I actually crave wanting a cig, it was all mental. I'm now at almost 6 months & I can honestly say I absolutely in no way crave a cig. I'm now using 12mg juice & will continue to cut down.
So again, give it time & let it come to you.

Once you find an e-cig and juice combination that suits you, it's a breeze. Some of us were lucky and hit it right first time, others have to hunt a little bit harder - but the journey's as much fun as getting there.

More, once you've got there, the buzz is just so brilliant. I was a 60 a day man, and nobody that knew me ever thought I'd have stopped smoking tobacco - I never thought I would, if I'm honest. And yet, here I am, tobacco free for months now, and loving the vape. Can't see me ever going back.

You know you've made the switch when you have an analogue (british spelling) and it tastes like an .... log, and you just don't want to take the second drag.

It'll come - give it time, but enjoy the journey.

I wouldn't worry yourself about it personally........

When I first started I was amazed at cutting from a 2-3 pack a day down to 6 cigs a day in the first week and a half. Couple months down the road life through one of those unexpected cogs in the wheel and I ended up raising to 1 pack a day.

7 months later and I still battle up and down with that 1 pack a day and am attempting to find "that ONE flavour & strength" to take me back down again.

I never beat myself up over it, and try to concentrate on the "positive" side of it all......... and that is, no matter how many analogs I still end up smoking now I will never be at that 2-3 pack a day hack fest ever again, and will continue in my attempts at harm reduction knowing that I've achieved that progress and can be glad in doing so.

So, congratulations in YOUR positive achievement after only one month. And, the best of wishes to bettering that win !!

VapeOn,
Greg

Wow you all here are amazing! Such support and guidance...I'm going into my second week of vaping, had a puff or two the first couple days, and yuck! Like Arno said in his info pack to me with my 510,'You will soon realize what a cig is, burning stuff'
I sure never want to inhale the exhaust of a '66 302 engine Mustang [though i did when i worked at a Mustang restoration shop!] but that's what cigs ARE! Burning stuff full of all kinds of nasty crap that we inhale. Nope, now it's just sweet vape with that 'hit 'o nic'! :)

Trapped within my imagination
Dont give up..Right now you are withdrawing from the poison additives that analogs/cigs have in them.. To me, that part is a lot more addicting then the nicotine and will take a while longer to get over then 5 days (smile)

Suggestions
* find a a few juice you like ( find a supplier that offers samples)
* get a low mg strength and a really high mg strength in the same flavor... Then you can mix them for the nic level thats right for you at all times..(saving the highest level you can handle for after dinner/. strong cravings. stressful situations etc...
* research different e-cigs...Finding one that has a good lung hit or produces good flavor can really aid you in quitting..Also research their battery life and what "Passthroughs" are.....( popular ones as said, are the 510,901,801 < you can type any of these in the search bar at the bottom of the main page and come up with tons of threads)...I personally would save the power mods for something to look forward to if all else fails...Crawl before you can walk (smile)
* learn how to blow out and clean your atomizer if you dont already know ( especially breaking in a new atomizer and getting rid of the primer fluid taste on a new one.. also tips on how to trouble shooting your e-cig...and learn how to refill blank carts with bottled e-liquid and or how to "drip"
* You can learn so much of this and much quicker by watching the "how to" videos on the main page of the "Newbie Forum"
Rituals.. Some find it helpful to keep some smoking rituals, ie: smoking on the front porch after dinner etc...Some like saving one certain flavor for their emergency high nic vape = signals your brain- ahhhhh its oook lol..one for mornings etc
* ALWAYS have a back up battery and one or two atomizers!
* Don't forget to check at the bottom of the main page in the classifieds for some really good deals people are selling.
*Don't ever be afraid to ask questions, trust me you havent asked Anything that hasnt been asked before.. Having a bad day with cravings?..Best therapy is reading the forums!
* keep in mind, the more you vape ...The nastier real analog/ cigs will taste

This is my first post here, I have been lurking on this site for about 2 weeks. I got my 510 about a week ago and quit analogs when I got it, thats from a pack a day stick with it there is alot of good information on this site. I have tried everything to quit and the e-cig is the first to really help without any cravings, Im so glad I found this place

I smoked analogs while vaping for almost 2 weeks... I now dont smoke any.

My wife is like you, she is having a hard time (she is down to 5-10 analogs a day) and she is getting upset about it. I keep telling her to not fret but...

You might try another cig and some other juices, as already suggested. 24mg juice made my cravings disappear.

I'm five months in now. Had immediate success with reducing my cigarette use, but only reducing. I was down to about half a pack of Capri menthols (light, skinny, wimpy cigs) a day, got down to 3 a day within a week. Just could not kick those last few each day. When stress hit, I craved cigs, not vape, so that would go up and down some. Started out at 11 mg liquid. Then got a bunch of 36. Still craved those last few. Different flavors helped, could change up when one got boring. Made my cigs taste like freeze dried ... hair, but I still wanted them. Until a few days ago. Eastmall's EM4 (have only used M401) for the manual control, and kicked my liquid up with some of the 60 mg mixing liquid, to somewhere around 48 mg, including some extra VG for the cloud of vapor effect that lets me know I'm vaping. Now on day 2 without a cig, finally!

I include this because I am totally an example of previous intake not matching what was needed from my e-cig for nicotine. I didn't smoke a lot, and really wimpy cigs at that, but it takes some serious juice to satisfy. Friend of mine started the same time I did, and in 3 days dropped cigs, went from 1-2 packs of whatever was cheapest daily to 36 mg liquid with no trouble, and wasn't using a lot of juice, little more than a mil a day.

End result, just keep with it. I was considering a high-end mod with more capacity, vapor, ect, but just ended up needing a whole lot of nic in a device I was otherwise happy with. I've even started using the auto batteries and filled carts again, refilled with super high nicotine juice, it works for me...

I smoked 1 1/2 packs a day for 35 years. Never could quit for more than a month or two. Got a 901 in april and had great success. Carried ciggs with me for the first month "just in case". Had a couple, but tried not to give in. Then went to a "reward smoke" on the weekend with a beer after mowing the grass. Got to a point where I really didn't want one anymore. Still have over 1/2 pack in the freezer "just in case" Also, got a 601 e-pipe to use at home at night. Not a pipe kinda guy, but what a lifesaver. That thing smokes like a freight train. Still crave every now and then, but not much. It all comes with time and the right equipment. Keep it up, you CAN do this!

I smoked a pack and a half for 30 years. I have only been vaping for a week now. I still smoke around 8 analogs a day. I'm not worried about it though. If I crave a tobacco cig, I just go and have one. I'm still getting accustomed to the e-cig thing but am very confident that I will completely switch to only the e-cig eventually.

Hi all. My friend loaned me a Blu. Been using it for 5 day. Smoked a pack to pack and a half a day. Not sure if I am doing good or not. Im down to about ten regular cigarettes or less a day. Still crave a real one..... badly. Does that go away??? How long does it take most to change over?? Thanks,

I still have cravings but they are much less often. I think the cravings will always be there for some of us. It took me about 3 weeks before I switched over completely from analogs.

Get a 510. Blow the primer out of the atty before you start, knock out some puffs to clear the residue and you're g2g. Better yet, get a battery mod and you'll get throat hits at least as good as Camel nonfilters...
