Hi all. I just received my 510 yesterday and am having a few problems. I am using the stock carts, I get 4-5 good puffs, from a fresh cart, then it dies out. I use my tweezers to push it down and re-soak the carts, but again, a couple puffs, then nothing. Infact after 4-5 puffs, the vapor dies, and it starts melting the cart filler. I have a headache now from smoking melted cart fibers. Is this typical? I mean, I know I need some juice to top them off, but every 5-6 puffs? Also, the cart cart filler comes to the top of the cart, so it actually touches the atomizer, and burns/melts! WTF? that is not only gross, but probably grossly unhealthy. Please help me out here. I should have my juice on tuesday, and I will try dripping, and/or the tea bag method, but why am I having so many problems with the stock method? Does everyone not care that they are smoking these synthetic fibers? There is no way that is healthy! Please help.

Chances are you're vaping what is a shipping fluid on the atomizer which is used to keep the atomizer from drying out (aka primer fluid). It may be almost gone by now but suggest either pulling the filler out (or use the empty cart - no fillter that likely came with the atomizer) and then try vaping and see if you get the same gross taste. Don't inhale just puff. It won't kill you but it will kill your tastebuds for a few hours. The polyfill is not toxic and never really seen any that melts. It sometimes gets hooked on the metal mesh of the atomizer bridge and I pick it out with tweezers and also push it down just so that it doesn't get hung up and pull out.

Sometimes when the atomizer bridge is off center, it will melt the top edge of the cart. I've repositioned the bridge by using a toothpick and carefully nudging it toward the center but you can't force it. You're on your own if you do that, but that's what I do and frankly if it's too far off center I would send it back for a replacement. Or contact who you bought it from and ask what to do.

As far as the few number of puffs per top off, you might check out the straw mod:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/11421-cart-mod-better-refilling.html

This allows for much more fluid and more puffs per refill.

Thanks for the tips. No, the carts arent dry, they are full to the brim, but It only seems to give me a minute or 2 of good vaping. It's ok, I have been playing with it, and it isn't too bad I guess. I just have to wait for my juice to get here! Then I can drip it, actually there is a guy I found that sells juice in Hollywood, might try that.

Ok, so alligned my cart properly this time, and it has made a world of difference, I have been vaping this cart for about an hour now, still working great! .

Great. You're on your way now! Still check out that straw mod (link in my post above). It really does work in both decreasing top offs and helps the juice wick up to the top of the cart.
