I bought this Health E-Cigarette at a local headshop for WAY too much, but I didnt want to wait for an online order.....
dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11211
that is the e-cig I ordered, the only thing different is the atomizer... mine dosent have the white around it... and mine was 60 bucks with a no return policy....
So.... long story short... I bought this whipped it out of the box, threw it together and sucked it like there was gold at the other end........ IT LIT UP!!! but no vape.... so my wife says.... you gotta read the directions.... and it says to charger for 5 hours before first use... so I get home, throw the battery in the usb charger and hook it up to my computer... at first nothing happened so I unscrewed it and screwed it back in and the end of the e-cig lit up red... I left it charging for about two hours and I could wait anymore... I took it off the charger and threw it back together... and I tried every kind of draw possible.... it lights up like its going to give you some vape... but nothing happens! So... I took it back apart again... upon looking at the atomizer... I noticed the coil was touching the mesh bridge type deal on the side ther wire comes in.... so I took a small knife and moved it away, now when I put it all together and puff, it just flashes 3 times.. so I moved the coil back to touching... still flashes 3 times... and then I moved it back again (i dont think the coil should be touching right?) but if I unscrew the atomizer and puff on the battery it lights up like it should, but when I put the atomizer and cartridge back on it just flashes 3 times... so I figure... i'm going to have to charge it all the way.... I screw it back into the charger and it dosent even light up now.... however when I remove the battery from the charger it does flash 3 times, but does not light up when its hooked up... I even let it sit overnight and no difference... what could be wrong and how can I fix this... sorry for the long post but I would really like to fix this or i'm out 60 bucks!!

I don't have any experience with the e-cig in particular you've purchased, but my 1st experience was with N-Joy. The store I purchased from allowed returns w/in 30 days. Long story short - apparently the batteries I received had already been returned by a new user & they wouldn't hold a charge to save their life. I know this isn't much help to you, but don't give up if you are new to the game. All the online orders I've made, although making me impatient, have been well worth the wait. I'm still new to posting, so I hope it's ok to mention these...I've had good luck with e-cigaretteexpress & Vapor4Life. Good luck to you! Just my 2 cents... :2c:

You may have gotten a bad atomizer... It happens more often than not. But when that happens you shouldn't mess with it, tons of people here will be willing to help you fix it if it's fixable. I'm sorry about the no return policy, that sucks. And also, when you said you moved the coil what did you mean by coil? It shouldn't be visible unless it's lit up, and even so It shouldn't be within reach of a knife. Also it may be a bad battery as well- sounds like you got scammed. "60 dollars for no return policy" you can get a better e-cig for less and with a 30 day return policy. Have you checked out the 510 kits from cignot?

Hi bliynd. My very first ecig purchase was the "Health-e-Cigarette". It's actually an M-401 knock-off. I spent $10.00 more than you did and ordered it from an online source (if that's any consolation).
I hate to tell you this but the best solution I came up with for that POS was to replace it with a decent model. Poking around the coil with sharp objects just breaks the coil and then it's done for. I went with a DSE 901 kit for my first real ecig but the 510 and kr808 models are excellent choices too. You can get starter kits of all those models for a little more than HALF the price you paid for your "Health-e-Ripoff".
For the 901 or 510 try this site Welcome to MadVapes LLC
For the 510 only look here Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.
For the kr808D-1 you could check this place out https://www.vaporkings.com/aboutus.asp
Don't be too discouraged. There are decent ecigs out there at good prices. They just don't sell them in stores yet.

aww thats a bummer... lol I was really hoping to fix this as i'm very mechanically inclined, just dont have much knowledge on e-cigarettes, I dont have a multimeter handy but i'm going to check the atomizer later today for resistance, and see what the battery is holding for voltage, does anyone know what the voltage of that battery should be?
thanks in advance for all the quick help!!!

yeah... i'm very impatient... lol
i'll take a pic of the coil on the atomizer to show you what i mean and post it in a min i'm not sure if its the atomizer or the battery... the battery used to light up when charging and its not anymore... so im not sure lol i'll post the pics in a couple minutes

Welcome bliynd,

You may need to post 5 times before you can post links or photos, then wait about an hour for your status to update.

I'm not familiar with the model you purchased but, like xanax, I don't understand how you can get to the coil with a knife. It may just be that your e-cigarette was OK to begin with, but not enough e-liquid was getting to the atomizer; your atomizer needs to be moist for it to create vapor. You'll need to get some e-liquid to refill your cartridges when they run dry, and to drip a couple of drops on the atomizer bridge to prime it.

Many people have lost $60.00 with their first purchase, so you're not alone. You've come to the right place to get the information you need so that your next purchase will be a success. There is a lot of information here, but a fair concensus seems to be that the Joye 510 or the kr808 are great for beginners.

Patience, read as much as you can before purchasing, and get replacement batteries (so that you can still vape while a battery is charging), atomizers (they don't last forever) and a variety of e-liquids. Many vendors can have your purchases delivered within 2 days of your order.

Good Luck!

I have never seen an atomizer that looks like that.... very strange... wow
You realy should order online from one of the reputable suppliers on this forum... you will not be disappointed and you will get your kit/supplies within 2-3 days.. very fast shipping...
Honestly though, you might just have to chalk it up to getting scammed... it may be fixable but like I said I've never seen an atty in that condition. Anyways though, I hope someone more experienced in engineering and whatnot can come along and help. I know a lot about e-cigs but I don't know how to build or take one apart :p

That's an exposed bridge atty and to me it looks ok, but hard to tell just from a picture. For these next steps we're going to assume that the battery is ok. It sounds like it probably is if you can puff on just the battery and it lights up. I don't use a 401, so not sure if the inner cart comes out, but for the ones that I do use, they all do.

To see if the atty (attomizer) is working, if you can squeeze a few drops of juice out of one of your carts into a very small container, take the inner cart out of one of the mouthpieces. First try putting the empty outer cart (the mouthpiece part) back on the PV and take a couple of puffs. If nothing happens or if it gurgles, take it back off, unscrew the atty and blow through it from the thread end fairly hard a few times. Then take a cotton swab or a paper towel and clean the threads on both the atty and the battery. We're trying to see if it's flooded, a flooded atty will act dead. If you get a few drops of juice out of it, put it back on the battery, put the mouthpiece back on and try a couple more puffs. If you get vapor from it now, you know it's working. If you don't get vapor and the atty is still cold, it's probably dead or the battery has issues.

If the atty is getting warm you can take the mouthpiece off and dip the bridge (the part that sticks out at the top of the atty) in the juice that you recovered earlier. You only have to put the bridge part in the juice, not the whole atty and only for a second or two. Then put the mouthpiece back on and try a couple more puffs.

If you get it working, now try it again with a regular assembled cartridge. You may need to take a paper clip or t-pin and fluff up the filler in the carts to get it to work well.

Good luck and hope this helps get you up and running.

well what i'm wondering is if its the battery..... when i plug it in to charge (only came with usb charger for the pc) it does not light up or anything.... but when i unplug it, it flashes 3 times. Now when I draw on the battery itself, it lights up like its working normal, but if i screw the atomizer on it and draw it flashes 3 times..... bad battery?

ok so, i got 3.0 ohms on the atty, and 0.00 volts on the battery, and 5.05 volts on the usb charger plugged in to my pc... so i'm assuming the battery is garbage.... any ideas on how to repair, if possible?

The first thing I'd like to mention is: I was vaping from a passthrough connected to my PC intil I read that I could fry the motherboard of the PC, which I can't afford to do right now. I was later informed that it's OK, as long as the PC USB is at least 2 amps. I have no way of checking that, so I no longer vape off my PC.

You have enough posts to post in other forums now. Perhaps someone in the General Accessories Discussion can answer your question about fixing or replacing the battery.

i think that you should just skip a couple of steps if you don't mind your "ecig" not looking like a cigarette and get an eGo and get 510 cartomizers with a flavor of your choosing. That will in the long run save you some time and money
