Being a new user myself, I can understand both points, what I dont understand is what almighty is talking about. Ive read the whole thread and noone gave him any grief that I can see, it was all just singular opinions. The only defensive posting or even mildly harsh post seems to come from almighty. We are all just trying to find whatever will work for us the best and want everyone to know of our experiences. Just what I seem to have observed in my short time here. Lurked a while to find what my best solution was and it turned ot to be the ego tank system, but I do intend to really look at some of the nicer wooden mods. Guess the point is if noone takes offense noone gets upset

Well, yes and no. Admittedly, I started with an eGo and I still like it with the 2ohm cartos. It is a simple and inexpensive way to start. I use it as back up and to intro other people to vaping.

What really burns me are all of the PAD smokers who end up blowing their budget with $150 minis or small batt models and give up because lighting a cigarette is a heck of a lot easier than worrying about the batteries, or a lot more satisfying than the puny hit they are getting.

There are cheaper box mods, but I'm not sure that it makes sense to buy one. You still have to buy the right batteries ($7-$10 x2), a charger ($15-$40), and attys ($7-$10 x3 at least). Also, box mods make much more sense once you find juices you like, otherwise you are basically using a high priced dripper.

To chime in with your thought process: it kills me to see someone asking for more throat hit, longer battery life and less hassle and then see a particular regular on this forum tell them they should consider getting a kr808 and just try different liquids or add a little PGA or up the PG level of their juice and all will be well in their vaping world. Then I see at the bottom of this regular's signature that they use M401 and kr808 PV's ONLY! It's like the blind leading the blind. If someone asks about more TH or battery life, a regular who only uses 401's and kr808's should do the OP a favor and STOP themselves from responding.

I'm not really sure why that is either.
Who really enjoyed their struggles with carts, crappy juice, regular resistance attys on a 3.4v device? Sure as hell wasn't me. Sure, when I bought my first ecig & liked that it was the same size as a cigarette. I still use it once in awhile too. The OP & many others want something better & are grown ups who have money to spend. Why keep sending them back to starter kits, when the best part of ECF is the exposure to mods? Most people see the kiosk at the mall & that's all they'll know, unless they find a forum. Those places charge as much for a KR8 as you would spend for a nice mod. I get in here & try & give info on some nice devices, that cost a little more & it's like I insulted somebody's Mom. The GLV with a MAP is another great option. I hate refilling all the time. Carts & cartos suck in comparison to the options available now. ECF's little helpers aren't helping anyone, if they don't give more options than the KR8 & the eGo/Riva.

AG, I agree with you 100%. I've actually seen some people state that new vapers need to go through a "progression" and spend $1000 in order to figure out what they want!!!! Those who have not used a good 5 volt or VV PV really have no clue at how much better the vaping experience can be. Now if someone just wants to use a PV to get off the analogs and then stop vaping also, then maybe a smaller device is all they need. I think they are the exception, not the rule.

The other problem I have is with drinking and vaping. Any other time I much prefer my PV over analogues, but when I'm out at a bar or party, I need an analogue. The PV, no matter how thick I get the vapor or how strong the throat hit, just doesn't satisfy. My guess is its mostly psychological, as I started smoking mainly when I drank. Anyone else have this issue?
Yes, I do. I don't worry about it though. If I want a cigarette, I have a cigarette, but I average one per day. Since I smoked a pack a day for 42 years and have been vaping and smoking one per day for three years, I consider it a victory. If I told myself I was quitting altogether, I would start craving cigarettes. If I want more than one when having drinks, I smoke more than one, but I have not gone over 6 in any given day for two years. Let whatever works for you guide you. PS. The NJoy is not a bad e cig. It is, in fact, a good one. After all, NJoy is the company that has won two legal challenges against the FDA. If you want something that resembles a cigarette, keep working with what you have and buy some juice from Backwoods Brew or KickBass Vapor. OR, buy a BLOOG Maxx Fusion. Everyone will tell you to buy a mod or an EGO. If you don't care what it looks like, buy one. If you do care and want something resembling a cigarette, keep what you have, and ignore the MOD SQUAD. I know I have, but that was only after wasting a ton of money trying everything. I came back to what I liked in the first place: an ecig that resembles a real cig. I am currently in love with the Bloog. PS I HAVE an Ego, and I use it sometimes.

Here's another one:

Next time you smoke a cigarette, do it with your e-cig in your other hand. Take a drag of the cigarette and really analyze the whole experience: what does it taste like? what does the smoke feel like in your lungs? what does it smell like? how does it make you feel when you exhale and all the smoke comes out? what is your favorite thing about it?

Now take a drag off your e-cig (remember; long slow easy deeeep inhales; into your mouth first and then into your lungs) and ask yourself all the same questions as with the smokes: how does it taste? how does the vapor feel in your lungs? how does it smell? how does it make you feel when the vapor comes out? Make up some of your own questions too.

The point of this exercise is to force you to confront a side-by-side comparison, you may find that your preference for 'real' cigarettes is more psychological than anything else and that if you compare them point-by-point, then you actually do prefer the e-cig. This'll help you emotionally to choose the e-cig over the smoky one next time.

+1 for this comment.

The day I got my first PV, I had a pack of cigarettes left. Being the frugal person I am, I couldn't bring myself to throw my cigarettes away and was determined to finish the pack. I took both my PV and my pack of smokes to poker league that night and alternated back and forth. By the end of the night I was dreading lighting the cigarettes. When I finished the last one, I was relieved! Never thought that would happen as a pack running low used to cause a panic attack.

After 2 months of vaping, I had a battery die while I was out and I bummed a smoke from someone. I took 2 puffs and it made me sick.

I never looked back.

Best of luck. Sometimes it takes a bit of tweaking, but it's well worth it.

It takes 18650 batteries (I like the IMR AW brand), and a charger.
Try Super T Manufacturing for them.

You can use cartos on it...just fill them first and use the Phidias to replenish the liquid.

I would recommend an LR306 atty though...it is an exposed bridge atty, so you need a 306 drip tip.
Try Avid Vaper for them...they sell the Cisco spec. attys...the best on the market.
I also like the Cannon Black Drip tips from Cherry Vape...they ship for free.

I just started vapeing on 03/01 and haven't had an analog since 03/03. I can go all day on a cart with my eGo. I usually vape juices on the sweet side at 10-12ng. Thats what I mostly have, it was all given to me by a friend.I do have some ry4 and menthol @ 24mg but the ry4 doesn't taste like a cig.to me. The sweet stuff seems to work better most of the time insted of something that is supposed to taste like tobacco and doesn't. But on the first night without an analog I got hit with a really bad urge that wouldn't go away so I got out the 24mg stuff thinking that more nic would help. I mixed the ry4 and menthol about 50/50 and then added about 1/3 the total of a 11mg coffee juice.Wow tested just like a regular nasty analog!!. It really did the trick, haven't needed to do it since.
Don't give up! your magic combination is out there, maybe in a flavor that sounds really weird, or a higher nic level. filling carts and cleaning attys is a minor issue.

In my opinion the main reason ppl continue to use analogs along with the e-cigs is there is no equivalent experience. No hot smoke, synthetic taste (or after taste), no convenience to use(try to smoke e-cig with 0 degree outside or getting a funny looks from co-workers or policeman in patrol car:laugh:), no distribution net (have to order on-line w/o warranty) etc. And the cost is too a big factor. Not a maintenance ( new parts, juce etc.) but "just to try"(juce, kit etc.) cost.
My line is "Gamucci","7-11","eHealth","eGo-T" + juices from reputatable sellers cost me around 160$ in one month. But I'm still using analogs (but less).

I'd be interested to know what e-cig you are using most and with which method (carts, cartos, drip tip, tanks?) and what e-liquid flavor, PG or VG and with what MG nicotine.

I always feel bad when someone on only their second post here says, "I've bought three units and I still can't drop the cigs". It makes me wonder... There are a lot of remedies to your situation, if we have more info we could give you some good advice.

With the right e-cig and juice, you CAN quit the cigs. The problem is there are so many kinds/flavors/voltages/methods/mg's... There isn't one answer that's right for every person -

My advice, find an e-juice with a flavor you like -be adventurous! It wasn't until I found fun flavors (cinnamon, spearamint, honeysuckle(from dfwvapor.com), chai tea) and 36mg nic level that I stopped craving cigs. Its trial and error to find the perfect flavor, so don't give up! Some of the flavors I thought I would love, I hate. Remember its ok to have a cig once in a while converting just think about all the cigs your not having by vaping and it will keep you going!
