I got one of these Auroras in the mail the other day. It'll probably stay in the box - it is not very comfortable in hand, and the smaller bottle makes it impractical. I also got a Pulse 80w recently - I tried that for a few days and went back to my Inbox. After 8 years of squonking with a hard bottle, I am not a fan of the soft bottles - I tend to over-do it with those squishy bottles. And the fire button on the Pulse is kinda crunchy and noisy, didn't like that much, either. My Inbox is a V1, and I find it to be one of the easiest to refill that I've had - no messing with caps, etc.
You might try one of these LDPE bottles:
$1.99 Mechanical Mod Replacement Squonk Bottle - 7ml / PE / for SVA Kimech/XBOX-01/FrankenSkull mod at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Not sure if they fit the Auroras, but do fit the Pulse.

same as you, i actually prefer steel tube when refilling and plastic or silicon, i just don't bother as adult, it ain't that hard as those youtube reviewer claim .....

As long as it works for you and keeps you off analogs is all that matters.

If you decide to let the Aurora go,hit me up with a p.m. I really like the Aurora because it has the inbox feel, little taller but same feel. Don't get me wrong I love my nbox too. I also have an RSQ that has put the inbox behind it because it is smaller.

I have an Inbox V2 and I also find the bottles very easy to refill and install. To be honest, I didn’t really understand the clamor to change the bottles to the more “standard” tube-feed bottles. Unfortunately, you can’t even get a V2 now.

I do like the hand-feel of the Aurora though.

A little review I put together! Hope it helps someone :)

    Function - 4/5
    Design - 4/5
    Quality - 3/5
    Looks - 3/5

    Would I recommend this device?

    Yes.

This 80w regulated squonk mod has the most innovative battery tray I have seen. It has the ability to use 21700/20700 and 18650 batteries with no rattle in each case. No adapters needed, just the flick of a switch behind the back panel.

I own 4 20700s and 4 18650s that get used in all of my current mods and I honestly don't want to buy anymore. So this mods versatility is priceless.

The Towis chip it houses has a very fast ramp up time and its menu system and navigation are simple, clean and very easy to use. It can be used in Wattage mode or Temperature Control for all the usual materials. I have only tested the TC on stainless steel, but it does a good job. It makes use of a third smaller button to navigate and change selections on the menu meaning you are not constantly having to press the fire button rapidly. It comes with a micro USB for firmware and charging. You might hear a little noise from the chip when you are firing but only at higher wattages.

It is a little bigger than most single battery squonks but for me, with bigger hands, it fits comfortable in the hand for both thumb or finger firing. With a 20700 battery it weighs more than the likes of the pulse 80w for example. Smaller hands may struggle.

Comes with an incredibly soft silicone bottle and a spare harder one with a travel cap, allowing you to carry up to 14 - 15 ml liquid at one time. Because the bottle is so soft I have to recommend that you make use of a top air flow rda as I experienced leaking too often from over squonking. I have the Dead Rabbit on top and it works perfectly. Also, because of the softness of the bottle I have had the front panel come off on my thumb many times after a long squonk. Not sure if that's a mod thing or a "my thumbs" thing but fair warning all the same!

Construction overall is very good. Magnetic front and back panels which have never fallen off due to me putting the mod down or shaking it, just when my thumb gets too far in to squonk. But I do feel the magnets could be stronger. Very clicky buttons both to feel and hear. The only issue I have is the fire button. It looks and feels a bit cheap. It works perfectly and has very good haptic feedback, but the plastic hcigar have used could be better.

I have experienced NO leaking from inside this mod, unlike some other 80w mods out there. I have the stainless steel colour option, and after 3 weeks of hard use, the finish steel looks and feels great. It looks like they will release some new panels to buy seperately because aside from colour you choose, there is nothing on the mod and it feels a bit plain.
(But it does mean you can send both panels away for a custom paint job!)

All in all, this device feels great, looks good and functions brilliantly.
No leaking, excellent chip, feels very nice in the hand. Use a top air flow RDA for best results!

    Hope it helps,

    Eamonn

My Aurora died last night. I was occasionally getting phantom fires for the last few days - where I’d press the fire button and it wouldn’t fire - but it would fire on the next press. Something inside got fried last night though - I can smell it. Won’t even turn on now. :(
Sorry to hear that, very disappointing. Hope it isn't a trend with the Aurora.

Weird though, you would think the chip itself is solid, it or a close offshoot has been used by them in other mods I believe. I wonder if there was something loose inside that shorted out on the board. If it failed over a period of time though, might have been something else.

Did it work ok at first, or was it always doing that? Do you use a top fill bottle? Just wondering if some juice got inside? I assume you can warranty it, but that still stinks.

The Aurora I ordered from FT STILL shows as 'pre-shipment' like the USPS never received it in China. I'm going to message them about my last two failed deliveries one more time, and then I'm going to do a charge back on my credit card if they don't do something about it. Honeslty, I would prefer for them to just cancel the two orders and refund my card. I used the Aurora I got from MVS for a few days, but it's just been sitting since then. Not sure I want/need the one from FT anyways. I just prefer the Pulse and keep going back to it. The Pulse is smaller, lighter, and the fire button is way too easy to press on the Aurora for it to be a device to take out of the house.

It was fine when new. I put maybe a half-dozen fills through it before I started noticing the occasional phantom fires - which was a few days before the failure. Didn’t use a top fill bottle. It’s possible that eliquid got through the 510, but the NarDA clone I’ve had on it doesn’t have particularly long threading on it and hasn’t been a problem on my Inbox.

Emailed a warranty replacement request on Sunday to Heaven Gifts at the suggestion of their ECF representative, but haven’t heard back yet. It’s only been a couple of days, though. Hopefully they’ll get to it soon. Still, can’t say their CS has been stellar so far. I’d be more concerned if I’d actually paid for the mod, though. I’ll probably ask the ECF rep for assistance if I don’t hear from them by the end of the week.

I hope you're was a fluke . I won one and love it! It's quickly become one of my favorite mods. I haven't been able to use it as a squonk yet since I had no bottom feed Atty but I just got in a dead rabbit so once I get home and build it I'll give the aurora the squonk test.
