Hi everyone!
I'm hoping someone can help me. I recently purchased an Hcigar Kayfun 3.1. It worked great for the day, until I put my nautilus on my MVP. I have no idea what happened, but after I put my kayfun back on it reads Non. No matter what I build, or how I adjust the center screw I get a Non reading. I read that the insulator on the MVP can go bad, so I replaced it with a #60 O ring. Still get a non reading. The nautilus still works perfectly fine. So I took the kayfun clone back to my local B&M and he couldn't figure out the problem either, so he have me a new one. I got home and coiled it, I'm certain my build is correct and was reading at 1.4 with my multimeter. I put the coil on my MVP it read 1.3 and then heated it to pinch it into a tighter coil (where I may have ....ed up) Because I got a non reading after one button push. I've started over a million times. I know all is perfect with my coil. My thought is the center post somehow got messed up. nautilus still works fine on my MVP. The kayfun doesn't work on any battery. I'm not sure what to try or how to fix this. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys!

If you adjusted the center post screw, more then likely you moved the center block inside and created a dead short. Tear it apart and make sure you didn't move the center block and that it's not touching the negative riser. Also check you center pin on your device to make sure that is touching the atty and there no short there.

That's what it means but if you checked it with the DMM then that shouldn't be the case. However, it is possible that your Kayfun is shorted when it's screwed on. Perhaps the pin on the MVP is pushing just hard enough to cause the short. What if you unscrew the center pin on the Kayfun. What do you see? Are there any burrs on the inside threads? What about the insulator (any cracks/chips)?

You can back the center-post (the slotted screw) in and out on most 3.1s. It is adjustable. I sometimes have issues with my MVP and 3.1s... the screw gets a little loose over time and the pad on the MVPs 510 connection just turns the screw in. back the 3.1s screw about 3 turns out and put it back on the device. You may have to do this several times before you get a good connection.

I'm leaning toward where ElConquistador is going in that you're not making a good connection between the Kayfun and MVP (which would be the case from your OP in which you got the NON reading. What is somewhat bothersome is that your most recent attempt it read 0.0 suggesting a dead short. I would try the dental floss suggestion (adjusting center pin) but double check with your meter for continuity before you put it on the MVP. I don't believe it would hurt the MVP but since we're trouble shooting it's always best to take multiple measurements.
