I like the design but 86mm is hardly one of the most compact designs.

You can fit a 18650 with a keystone holder in a 84mm tall mod (78mm inside) without hassle. If you are creative, you can fit the same battery in a 72mm case so 86mm is only 2mm less than a stock hana. The mini cloupor is 77mm high and has a removable 18650.

Still, it looks quite nice. I wonder how much it will cost.

Honestly I hope Smog doesn't put this up as a preorder for less than $100 because I won't be able to help myself. I've been super happy with my HB dna 40, but I could talk myself into replacing it with this because I can't read the screen on mine without my reading glasses because of the stupid smoked lexan screen cover.

Ah thats right the smoked screen I remember seeing that one someone's review. Honestly don't know why they thought that would be a good idea. I guess I lucked out not having that silly design on my box. Now I remember I watched Todd's review on the HB that had the same screen. I'm attempting to hold out on anymore devices until something a little more unique comes out that isn't a dna, china40, or sx type (looking at you evic VT).

Quite right especially since the HANA mini and Vaporsharks holding the title (so far) being the most compact TC devices. That being said there is no wiggle room in those for sure. I know that Xvostick will also take over the size race with the atty being attached right next to the battery compartment.

zero mod frame, m class body. nothing new to me...
Correct but that's the nature of the beast on the plus side it's an Authentic DNA40 Large Screen with new version of said DNA. But at the same time to me its just another mod with another dna40 as they also been popping up left and right. Mod design is the only thing that sets it apart from the numerous TC mods popping up, it may be a C-Frame but at least you know what your getting into. Unfortunately I will pass up on this mod as well as I'm looking for something more unique to the TC mod table. I will point out a recent thread was created for yet another C-Frame Zero clone that features a new Nickel Purity setting but then again, not a sell for me still.

HCigar is DEFINITELY not Pioneer4You! Their quality is very well known. P4U was screwed over by YiHi who makes the chipset.
Plus P4U did some bad planning and so on. It happens.
There are posts regarding this in other sections of the Temperature Control forum Sub Thread.
YiHi intentionally kept setting back the release date of SX330 chip so they could push out their own MOD the SX Mini M-Class.

It gets old when there are particular members who all they do is complain whine and never really ever have anything positive to say.

P4U could only tell their end vendors what they were being told by YiHi.

Let's get back on a positive track here and discuss all they very new and exciting MODS appearing with the latest and greatest in Temperature Control.

For those who keep blaming it's all Pioneer4You's fault, read this email I received from VaporTek

"We really thought all of you would enjoy the drama between P4You and Yihi! We have some really good customers that have privy to a lot of information! We wonder what network will take this an run with it and claim they are the first to know. There is drama in the USA and there is drama in China!!

This is not edited AT ALL!! This is direct from our best customer and advisor!! You know who you are JB!! The gentleman that sent this to us is by far the most knowledgeable person we know in regards to hardware!

An interesting bit of China behind the seen (sic), drama.
Pioneer4U showed the IPv4 in late January with the YiHi 330 chip, but because of miscalculated popularity of the ipv mini, Pionneer4U, and bad production planning + greed, IPv4 production was greatly delayed, to make up for there (sic) mistakes (and lies) they the promised the IPv4 will include, temp control, with the yet unreleased YiHi 330 J (temp control chip) but YiHi, purposely delayed production and delivery on the sx330 J so that YiHi own SX mini M class mod with the SX350 J ( temp controlled chip) mod would have the market to itself ( because the temp control programming software is identical, between, 330J-350J)
So the reason the IPv4 is so late is a festival of lies and drama between Pioneer, and YiHi, and detrimentally effecting everyone who believed the original bs,
Is the IPv4 (330J) temp controls any good? Well yes, very good in fact, anyone who has used the SX mini M class (350J) already knows it's better than Evolv, it's that good, and don't take my word, PBusardo thumbed the original Evolv dna40, no/down!,
then after extensively testing, thumb upped, the SX mini M class, his quote was, "if this (SX mini M-350J) was the first temp control I ever used, I would of approved of it" { heavily paraphrased} {quoted from the second half of the SX mini M class (350J), review, that got way fewer views}

A interesting side note, YiHi temp control, locks on a resistance of the nickel coils, the very newest issue of the Evolv dna40 now offers there version of this locking feature.
"

Color highlights are mine to point out the poignant parts of the email.

Of course Hcigar is not P4U lol and to boot Hcigar being the first chinese mod maker to offer up DNA devices, authentically.

there are a few problems with this which was posted elsewhere some time ago. I wont go oevr the details but the 'knowledgable' person seems to have inside info on a mythological 330J chip whic, afaik, doesnt exist. Again, if yihi, as the chip supplier, wishes to delay shipping to P4Y for whatever reason, that is their choice. It may be bad business practise, and risks losing a customer for the 330 V4S chips (!) but its up to them...Also the rather dogmatic statements that the 350J chip is so much better than the DNA40 are hyperbole at best and the comnparison is a good deal more complex, and needs more informed input than a couple of offhand statements from PhilB, as good as he is! 350J doesnt magically 'lock on' to a resistance, it measures it and thats it. The point is that it doesnt refine the value like the DNA40 does...and on we go....
In the end, who cares anyway?!?!

guys this bs about P4U and Yihi is off topic in this thread, keep it on topic please
Bingo! At some point I knew it went off tangent and didnt want to stoke the fire. What I meant for Hcigar being the first was over having the 40 chip and them being the first to use it. Such as Brad from Evolv's last trip to china to visit this company.

hum..... who is Brad from Evolv....I hadn't heard Evolv went to China to visit Hcigar.... I knew Brandon went to China...

And for the record Vapor Shark has China build their dna mods (has for years).... so they also are ahead of Hcigar....

To be correct Hcigar was the first China clone company to use an authentic dna....
