And risking redundancy, Mactavish, Kat is Kray-Kray, but not nuts!!!!!!

(open to opinion there, actually......)

Now, Joanne and Nails....... about that color...... is it gold? Is it orange? What IS that?

I must say I'm undecided, simply based on the pics. I think we'll know when we actually have a buyer/user who posts REAL pics of it.

For now, it's sort of <ahem> "orangey" weird.

As far as the batt cap goes, I'm still not convinced that it's a deal breaker. Just a bit of care, and doing it Aussie style will prolly solve all ills.

I looked it up and they have the color listed as "Yellow" . That's a different twist, isn't it?

I beginning to think that I just got really lucky with my battery cap. I guess that even a broken clock is correct twice each day.

They must have gotten a few done well (touching wood) .

That didn't sound good, now that I think about it .

JUST my own personal opinion, but I think the issue with the threading may be getting blown a bit out of proportion by Mac's admittedly horrific experience. In that regard, I truly feel absolutely terrible for him.

That being said, I've had a few mods that I needed to be cautious with the threading, and the Nano is pretty much the same as those. I've changed my battery out about 10 times so far, with no problems at all.

You DO need to be cautious with it. Basically, at the first sign of resistance, STOP. Unscrew it, and do it again. Most of my attempts have gone straight in, without even having to back out. I think twice I had to back up and begin again.

I'm not saying that anyone should go out and get one, but if you truly like the design that much, don't be scared off by the threading. It's not that bad.

And the mod is awesome. I will absolutely be getting a silver one.
Thank you very much. And to all the others that answered my question. I went for the black one (wish I had hold out for the silver one). I usually charge my DNA's with USB, but was thinking about carry a spare battery while I'm out and about. Thanks again everybody for all great advice. I will clean and baby the threading when it arrive from UK maybe this week. Maybe my next will be a Therion. And by the way, I feel bad for Mac's horrible experience. Wish you the best with you r next mod.

TOTALLY with you on Mac, @fredrikstad, and congratulations on your black one.

For whatever it may be worth (to current or potential owners), I've now taken to changing the battery daily, just as a matter of course & curiosity. Consistent with Louie2's experiences, it does appear to have smoothed out a lot, and is now presenting no issues at all. Straight in, straight out. I have not treated nor cleaned the threads in any manner to date.

I've now done it for the past five days in a row, in addition to the 10+ previous changes.

Patiently (not) awaiting the silvers to ship...

Congrats, fredrik! You may just find out that the black is SO sweet that you end up getting a silver one, too!

Patience, DPL. The silver is still incubating. ;)
