My brand new hcigar VT75 has stopped working. I have only had it for three days. Yesterday I started getting wild swings in reported ohms. I made sure that the screw on the battery cap was tight. It seemed a little loose and after I tightened it things seemed to settle down. Today it started happening again, then I got a weak battery error, then check atomiser error, then a short error and now it won't even power up. I have changed batteries, made sure the coils were not shorting and tried different attys with no luck. I checked all of those things when I first started getting the wild ohm swings.

I really like this mod. I am sad.

Ground issues are a common cause for many issues so x2 on that.

Hook it up using a usb cord and see if it wakes up. Were you able to use escribe device monitor while any of the anomalies were happening?

FWIW evolv has a forum, you might find something useful there.

I was able to wake it up with escribe. It was reporting 1.38v. Ohms were at .50 although the coil is actually .28 and it showed a nearly depleted battery when in fact it was nearly fully charged. I bought it on ebay and I have contacted the seller about a refund or return. He offers a 30 day return policy. I have also reached out to evolv tech support to see what they might suggest.

My VT75 had all the same symptoms as yours. I tightened the screw on the bottom and it fixed it perfect.

P.S. Not my pic, just borrowed.

regarding help tickets.......you have take into account the amount of help tickets submitted before yours, the day you submitted the ticket (most companies don't work weekends), evolv is also busy with cranking out the new 250 and 60 boards. it usually takes 3-5 working days to receive a response from them. that's the average time frame every time i dealt with them. unlike most chinese companies, evolv WILL get back to you. that you can count on. their CS is top notch, IMO.

So, I am returning my VT75. The vendor is giving me a refund. I am glad I got a chance to try it out because it gave me a chance to decide what I liked about it and what I did not. I did like the compact size with it using a single 26650 battery. On the other hand 26650 batteries are harder to find than 18650s and good ones are even harder to find.

So it is going back and I am starting a new thread on what I have gotten to replace it.
