I'm a new user of HCigar VT75. After some tweeking in Escribe VT75 acts same as my Therion 166 which is the the reason I again bought DNA mod.

But I still have some minor problems:
- IJoy 4200mAh battery wont charge to 100% (using downloaded CSV)
-while charging no info about charging current and voltage (in Escribe no USB current/voltage option)
-slightly different resistance compared to Therion (already tightened bottom screw, 510 plate and set mod resistance to 0.0045)

Any advice would be appreciated. :)

Mod resistance value I found in this topic.

I don't have the tool to measure it myself and making a big short sounds bad so I have to use measurements from other users.

Now when tank cooled down and mod settled difference is very small (0.01ohm) but I notice it when I vape using same settings. Maybe I just think I notice . [emoji4]

And yes, seems DNA75 cant show charge current. I realised this when charging was stuck on 99% for 20 minutes. External charger added 46mAh in 5 minutes and finished charging. If I'm not mistaken charging curve is not linear, but I still thing it's strange that charging last 1% takes so long. Maybe it would eventually reach 100%.

I mastered Therion so I exactly know what to expect and thought this mod will be completely same. But still, it's a fine device.

A couple of things I'll mention about the DNA75 vs the 200/250 boards. I like the 250/200 better because imo the 75 is what I would call Evolv's budget chip. I'm not saying it's bad but it doesn't have all the adjustments/settings the 200/250 have. Another thing is since the 75 is a Buck/Boost chip it is less efficient (85% vs 97%). Because of this it tends to run hotter (the board) because the difference in efficiency is dissipated as heat.

As for the mods internal resistance. The higher it's set, the lower the coils resistance will read. The lower it's set, the higher the coils resistance will read. The mod reads the total resistance and subtracts the what you set as the mods resistance from the total to come up with the coils resistance.

Cheers,
Steve

After couple of days seems mod has settled nicely.

After leaving tank on a mod for some time resistance settled at almost same level as on Therion and now vape is same on both mods.

Green light indicates that charging over night finished at some point. In the morning it shows battery is at 96 or 98%. One day I will monitor what happens at the end of charging, but I think everything is OK. But it would be nice to monitor charging current and voltage in real time.

So for now mod acts as I hoped for. Same smooth TC as with Therion and battery lasts whole day. It's not same as Therion, but still plenty enough to use mod at work or day trips.

And shape of VT75 is really nice. When measured its almost same as Therion, but because of curves is more comfortable to hold. If housing was wrapped in leather it would be perfect. :)

EDIT: Just finished charging from 85%. It took 1 hour for 14% and then 45 min from 99 to 100%. Immediately after charging finished it again fell to 99%. Escribe says battery voltage is at 4.18V. Looks good.

Mine has just started playing up on fire button after many months of perfect use, never dropped or abused in any way , kept it nicely polished and under a silicon skin too, never battered any of my mods just paint ect, hence why i got a chrome Version
,Chrome VT75 ,
it either just turns off in stand by and wont turn on until holding multiple buttons for 10 seconds ,
Or wont Unlock /wont fire / just says 5 clicks unlock
When you eventually unlock it,
It then locks halfway through firing,
Very strange behaviour,

Very strange board setup not like the DIY DNA 75 board

Its not just one single board like say 200 or 250 dna

its got 2 boards ?
2usbs one on top of the other both work in escribe?,
2 fire button one on each board
Its like a board mounted on a board had a look inside ,

no juice ingress
Dont seem anything wrong with 510
Or wiring connection s ,

had it reset in escribe worked for 20mins then back to it again ,
but still same,
how can it lock halfway through a vape then not recognise the fire button to unlock it ?
Or lock immediately whilst firing something funky going on here.

It was working perfectly then just started playing up all buttons clicky when stripped down to board , cant get board out without unsoldering left that bit for now ,

Any ways stripped down again had another look a quick wipe around 510 again incase its carbon or god know what,

ook pics this time strange setup having a board on a board.
Dont think my other dna 75s are done like this the ones i see as Replacement or diy mod builds are just one full board screen buttons ect not like thus ,
anyways just got it firing again tightented every nut ect , but it's soldered board on board mounts not screws ?
see how long this lasts
You can see in pics 2 usbs ,

Last pic wires an fire button above that on top board Another fire button ?

Looks like HCigar has added an interface board in front of the Evolv DNA 75 board. The configuration of that board is wrong for it to be the DNA 75, which you can see the actual board on Evolv's website. Not sure why, unless it is to make the Up and Down buttons vertical or something. That being said, if your fire button is wonky, you can carefully remove the metal cover of that button with a very small screwdriver and clean it. If it is configured as most are, there'll be that rubber actuator you see poking through and a small metal disk under that is slightly concaved. When you press the actuator, you more or less smash that metal disk, but it "clicks" back to concave once you release it. A little rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip or some contact cleaner should make it good as new, be sure to let it dry before restoring it. This takes patience and good eyes.

Done all that , the button is lined up, its the keep saying 5 clicks to unlock when it was halfways through vaping firing then auto locks up , had it apart cleaned it last night , done again tonight , yes its 2 boards for above below +an - buttons , both boards have there own +an - as well as fire button 2 usbs so its a mix of 2 boards , found it strange as I already said , cleaned everything in acculators / buttons last night worked for 30mins then started going wonky , not the buttons but the board auto lockouts t clicks unlock when it had just been unlocked an fired 1.5seconds into firing it stops says 5 clicks to unlock so on so forth
Your constantly unlocking it , changed to 3 clicks unlock so not constantly hiving it 15 clicks to unlock an auto locking constantly , moved the 2 x 510 wires placed some paper behind them cleaned every part i could , again board connections , boards buttons ,
metal buttons 510 pin depressed it run a rag over it around edges where it sinks into plastic 510 caseing
Used a coil wire brush on batter cap threads , 510 cap threads to remove the grey gunk that ends up in Threads basically everything i could wipe clean i did, twice , assembled it again screwd down tight , all 4 screws polished again ,

Seems to be working ok now since this mornings reassemble
I do similar to my CV bf mech Sqounker beeds to be kept clean to constantly fire right ,

Like i said did nothing different than last night aprt from moving the 2 510 wires , maybe they where touching when hitting fire button idk , but to keep locking up mid vape , hmm , this mod never leaves my living room , have my R1D2 75w for Pocket Carrying and my VT75c is my new carry mod , will just have to see if happens again , another thing is these boards have the metal spaces that usually are screwed to each other but mine are actually soldered together also ,

The board under the button board is a proper DNA75 board, the top one is just for the vertical buttons and to bring a USB port forward. If you removed the top board you could use the fire button underneath it to see if it the board is acting up.

Be careful with the screen ribbon as they also mounted the screen on the top board.

Cant really remove top board its soldered on ,
Ive got it working for now so just leaving it as is, all cleaned ect , firing without going to a locked screen.
never had any trouble all before now with this mod. So hopefully was just a glitch ,

Hmmm. Just to be clear, when you say you cleaned your buttons, you pried off the square metal cover on the fire button, removed the rubber button, removed the metal disk underneath it, swabbed clean that disk and the contact it rests on when assembled, and then put it back together, right? Random locking comes from a fire button that isn't making solid contact when depressed and is "bouncing" the connection.

Removed the silicone seal on board cleaned wiped them down with a swab but they worked any way
also took buttons out of frames cleaned them.
The problem was not buttons it was keep locking during firing then said 5 clicks to unlock unlock fire half way through it locked the problem was either with board or wiring i think
