Politics is a contact sport

Politics is a check writing sport. And the e-cig industry has sparklers while tobacco, big pharma and others have nuclear arsenals. The Juul company poured gas on the fire.

Exsmokers/"current vapers" better learn DIY quickly. I've done it in years past. Not hard but you better study up on it. Can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.

Who in the h3ll is going to decide what is a "tobacco" flavored juice. One of my favorites has been something by Creme De La Creme called "Tobac". It's got a tobacco like flavor but that's achieved with some caramel and butterscotch like the old ry4. Will that be banned? Vapers are screwed.

I give you an example, and sorry for my bad english. Most of us here in Europe have a pretty strong Welfare State but we are not communist, because we don't have a planned economy and our economies are based on free market capitalism. We can say "mixed economies". Including UK, which has some things that you could call socialist (e.g universal healthcare) but despite this, they have a great vaping policy. So in my opinion it's not about right wing and left wing, big government or less government... it's about the intelligence and the hands free of our politicians. With "hands free" I mean politicians that work for the interest of citizens and not for lobbyists, Big Pharma and other big corporations... this is the biggest problem which has the whole world

I understand about mixed economies. What our current iteration of Democrat party is pushing for is something called the "Green New Deal" which is a government takeover of the economy (aka: socialism) disguised as "Climate Change" Legislation. This was even confirmed by one of the guys that helped create the plan.

Furthermore, they keep calling for Medicare for all (socialized medicine) claiming that if we sent the government what we spend on insurance premiums as taxes that it would somehow pay for it. The problem is that the reason health care costs so much for most people now is because Hospitals are already losing 35 BILLION per year on the current Medicaid, Medicare, and other government reimbursements. If everyone were suddenly using the same government system, hospitals would be going bankrupt right and left. Add to that Medicare is primarily for seniors so it doesn't pay out much for pregnancies and reproductive based things, but if everyone were on it, that would obviously change which is also unaccounted for. In essence this would wipe out hundreds of thousands of insurance based jobs, bankrupt hospitals leaving doctors and nurses unemployed and make our system even worse than it is.

There is so much more craziness but that is not the topic at hand, so I will leave it at that.

I was thinking the same thing but I would lose 30% of my pension if I live overseas. That's Social Security Law

Yeah but if moving can cut your living costs 50% or more, losing that 30% of income is still a net gain. Plus if you have a 401k, IRA, etc. that becomes gravy money instead of necessity money.

Perhaps all of this stocking up wasn't premature, after all.

At this point raw nic is still not being targeted. As long as you have a few mods and some rebuildible tanks and have learned to DIY juice I think you are ahead of the game. I do have several years worth in my freezer but I wasn't intentionally trying to stock up. However my wife now vapes zero nic (down from 6mg) and I have dropped to 3mg (from 6mg) so what I have is going to last 75% longer than intended. To be honest, I may not even use it all since I don't really think I even need the nic any more.

Multiple deaths, yet no action is taken,
except for the 6 vaping deaths.
Firearms don't cause death and neither does vaping. There's nothing you can do about firearms that will make a difference.
Vaping doesn't cause death.
Firearms don't cause death.
Drugs don't cause death.
Cigarettes don't cause death.
Alcohol doesn't cause death.
Cars don't cause death.
Until people actually look at the real cause nothing will ever change.

I don't watch the news anymore (too expensive to buy blood pressure meds, and if I don't watch the news my blood pressure stays in the normal level (seriously))… so... People died from THC vape? But isn't that different than e-cigs (not to age myself, but last I heard a cigarette and a joint weren't the same thing)? So why do they want to ban e-cigs? And, sorry, but a bunch of lettuce was recalled last year for making people sick (e-coli contamination) - so are we banning lettuce too? If that was the real reason, cigarettes would have been banned ages ago (we know they kill). Sorry - I'm just frustrated with politicians trying to run my life and save me from myself.

Yes.
So why do they want to ban e-cigs?
It's a handy excuse to do what they've long wanted to but never had quite sufficient justification for. They've spent the last few years pushing the absurd notion that vaping is just as bad (if not worse) than smoking, and these lung injuries and deaths have finally cemented that view in the court of public opinion. So now they think they can get away with it.

I am frustrated as well. Vaping nicotine is the target issue, what is happening now has nothing to do with the public health. Health and youth addiction is just an excuse to kill an industry that is taking money from the people/organizations that are in charge. I expect vaping to generally drop to an extreme low, and then rebound. If history and my memory serves me, this is what happened with pot in the mid to late 90's. Look at the market now. Of course the rebound took a decade, but this is how I see vaping going. The passion is the same, the flavor of political climate tastes the same to me. Only time will tell of course.

If they can put you in a cage for owning a plant...just sayin' ;)

This acutally happened to a neighbor of mine. 15 miles outside of town in middle of nowhere, there was a police chase, while they were driving full speed down these dirt roads that practically nobody ever drives on to chase down a perp........one of the officers noticed that my neighbor, an elderly individual, had a single plant out on his deck. Can you believe after they chased down that perp (robbery) they went BACK to this poor guy's house and got him for that plant?

It got very bad for him, they were invoking RICO and the whole nine yards. He was gonna lose his house and everything. Needless to say an old guy living on meager funds we had to take up a collection just to help him out with legal fees.

THis was about 10 years ago, he eventually got it all straightened out, but it cost a dear amount of lawyer $$$$.

Unfortunately this is not an isolated event. I've heard about this many times, and helped people in this exact situation a few times in the past. It is very sad how law enforcement works. Sieze one guys property for a plant, but allow another guy busted with .... to roll over on fellow users, then walk free with no consequences, often with money in their pocket for 'cooperation'. What a world we live in. No wonder the turn over is so high in law enforcement, there's only so much bs a person can stand.

Okay, I googled it. 6 deaths from vape (total), 157,423 deaths from cigarettes/lung cancer (just last year alone). Even assuming half the cigarette deaths were wrongly attributed to cigarettes and it's only 78,711 who die yearly from cigarettes... man, it's so obvious where their priority is.

Nobody has ever died from vaping. Nobody has ever died from cigarettes. People die from their own stupidity.

Could happen much faster than that and nationally with the stroke of a pen after watching today's video briefing with the HHS & acting FDA directors at the White House. They looked like they had been lashed.
They were probably scared they'd lose their job's if they disagreed with the President, just like Bolton was because he disagreed.
