I'm very disappointed. I quit smoking years ago and went to chew, which I recently wanted to discontinue by switching to eliquid. Unfortunately, it gives me headaches and seems to slow down my mental processes. It also gives me an overall bad feeling. I thought it might be the PG so switched to VG, with the same effect. I tried different brands and lower nicotine concentrations. I even tried vaping less frequently, but I always have the same side effects. I really want this to work for me. I'm considering trying one of the eliquids that advertises using no additives, particularly after reading about the lung ailments associated with diacetyl. I started smoking analogs again recently because I was so disappointed that nothing was working for me. I haven't found the info I need on the Internet to resolve this. Is there a wizard out there who has an answer?

what mg of nic are you vaping? I would suggest vaping stronger mg or else just *more* frequently and see if it helps. It sounds like you're having nicotine withdrawals rather than a symptom of vaping. I would say try bumping UP the nicotine, not down, and see if you get relief. Stop if you get nauseous or dizzy, obviously (use your common sense) but it's certainly worth a try to increase your dosage.

I guess I'd want to know in what order things happen....

Do you vape and within minutes do you feel ~worse~?

Did analogs set you straight within minutes?

Because you sound like you're having the problems my wife was having when she wasn't getting enough nicotine into her system as first (as noted directly above). -Magnus

Hubby chewed but never smoked. He quit with 18mg nic juice and hasn't wanted a dip ever since.

Try upping your nic content...sounds like withdrawal more than anything else.

Remember the Excedrin addiction that people were going through? It was to the caffeine in them. Once a person who always took them stopped, they suffered bad headaches.

hello,

I would strongly suggest you see a regular MD and not waste time trying to get ideas or information about your affliction or ailment via this forum since there might be some SERIOUS underlying problem that might be aggravated by the vaping or might be related to the nic withdrawl or maybe might not have anything to do with either.

It's just my opinion though.

I'm going through the exact same thing. I've had a headache for about a month now. I've found out I'm allergic to PG, I get rashes and itchy skin and feel horrible if I take PG. I'm now on 100% VG which helped that but I still have the persistent headache.

I didn't want to believe it was electronic cigarettes doing it. At first I thought it's possible I'm ODing on nic because I was on 18mg juice which seemed high at first but after reading the research done that indicated around a 10% absorption rate, I should really be getting about 1.8mg of nic a day because I vape about 1ml. 1.8mg? That's one cigarette's worth a day.

I dropped down to 6mg juice to be sure that it's not nic related. So if I follow the 10% rule, 0.6mg, about half a cig a day. Yesterday I vaped almost nothing because I felt really ill and wow today I had the worst headache I've had in a really long time. I could hardly see straight it was that bad.

I've ordered 24mg juice that should be here in two days to find out if it makes a difference. I've been vaping for over 6 months now, mostly on 18mg with occasional headaches which I think was related to the PG allergy.

I have been to the doctors about it. My bloodwork came back fine, blood pressure fine, nothing out of the ordinary they could tell me. It might not be the same for you but for me I can only assume either any nic at all doesn't agree with me or I'm going through nic withdrawl. Judging by the 10% absorption it seems very likely. I used to smoke 10 - 20 rollies a day for comparison.

Just what's happened to me and where I'm going with it and hope you get some relief yourself because I know it sucks.

All I know, is if I can't vape, I'm definately not going back to smoking because it destroyed my health but everyone's different. I'm young enough to bounce back and hope I can recover fully with vaping. If I get relief from higher nic I'll let you know. Feel like a guinneapig but all in the name of science and goodwill!

Super great informative post!! Thanks so much. I have thought about the fact that I've started out with 18mg and thinking it was a really high nicotine dose. I was smoking 1 to 1.5/ppd Marlboro Lights. Now I go through 1mil and sometimes 2mil (on a heavy day) consistently and you're telling me this is equal to 1 of my old cigs per day??!! Wow!

Aside from this I just wanted to add that water intake is imperative with vaping. I think it's one of the most understated things about vaping. While I was waiting for my initial supplies to arrive - I realized I was going to have to become completely serious about water intake. I totally sucked at it my whole life. Now I'm on day 18 of 70oz of water per day. So many other benefits to this I'm enjoying - it's crazy but suffice to say that I have had zero cravings..for analogs, soda, chocolate, salty snacks....

You've been given alot of great advice and I'm just throwing the whole water thing out there. Our bodies produce the water for the vapor....

Just did a quick google search...but anyway...
Dehydration Headaches - Beyond Headaches

P.S. Me, personally - I've not had any of the side effects of vaping so far. Other than the when I'm not vaping (sleeping), I'm talking about, reading, posting or shopping for supplies - all things VAPE RELATED!!! I'm on Day 15 and went cold turkey after 30 years!

Perhaps snus might be a better choice for you than vaping? You may want to check out the other alternatives thread. Hope you get the issue resolved quickly and feel better.

Whats your PV setup? A lot of beginners aren't very familiar with what burnt cartomizers/atty taste like. I can imagine whatever chemicals thar releases cant be good for your neurology. Let us know what setup ur using. For best results id recommend direct dripping ur atty, def cleaner than carts/cartomizers, etc.

Also, headaches and mental slowdown sounds like what I get when im DEHYDRATED. Gots to drink lots of WATER (not beer or soda :) ) especially because nicotine, like any other stimulant will dehydrate you.
