I wasn't sure which thread to put this in, but would like to find out if anyone else is having this problem. I gave my 510 pass-thru to my sister-in-law, who is also wanting to quit the analogs. I gave her the cherry cola juice that came with my kit, orange creamsicle, and also some almond joy with peanut butter flavoring added to it.
I vape at 30mg nic and that was way too much for her, so all of the juice that I gave her to try had to be diluted with VG and some Lorran's flavor added to them
I feel so bad, because these are working SO well for me that I quit smoking analogs entirely and I really wanted to help her. She loves the idea, loved the flavors that I made for her, but just keeps getting heartburn/acid reflux, no matter what.
Any input would be appreciated. thank you!!

I don't know if there's a connection or where the connection IS, but my heartburn has all but disappeared since I started vaping (usually sweet flavors, 24 mg). When I smoked, I ate about 4 extra strong TUMS/day and never left home without either my cigs OR my TUMS. Now I probably use 2 TUMS/week or less.

Make sure the nic level is low enough, try diluting a bit more. Make sure she is not dehydrated. She may be sensitive to the VG (rare, but possible), have her try PG based juice instead.
I have these diluted down to 15mg because she was getting dizzy with the 30mg, but I could try to dilute down to maybe 8-12mg for her. Also, the mixes that i buy are almost always 50/50 VG & PG. Maybe I should add PG to them for her instead?

I just watched the updated "Intro to Vaping" video by Spikey last night and she mentioned heartburn as an adverse reaction to VG. She said it tends to pass with time. I've seen this other places as well. Mixing with PG might help, but if your juices are 50/50 you'll still have 25 percent VG (30mg nic to 15mg nic). Your sister might not be able to handle that either.

It would be good to try straight PG juice. If that works for her, she could slowly add some VG to the mix and adjust to it slowly.

Same thing here. I had acid reflux that just wouldn't quit and hurt like hell. Now that I've been vaping a while, it's virtually disappeared!

Hi newbe to threads. Vaping about a month. I had stared on a 401 and overdid it had od symptoms, quit for a week did analogs. got a new kit 510 and previously did pg based...had the od symptoms with the pg..11-14 mg..but got it figured out i think, somewhat....ordered a new juice 50/50 pg/vg of 4 different flavors...14mg....since then had some really bad HB(i do get it at times and take nexium daily already)but this was really annoying.heart burn....then came the ........,,,,,anybody else get that. i switched to the pg again...not sure if the diah...is gone completely...took some pills for that too.. So i guess i think i need to find a board about VG sensitivity..anybody have a list of things

I'm getting something similar to heartburn right now, but it feels more like hunger. I mean, I puff on some nice caramel flavored juice and I get hungry. When I get hungry, my stomach does a similar thing to heartburn because it is getting ready to have something to eat. I always joke when that happens that I am so hungry that my stomach is trying to eat me. LOL

I think you're on the right track trying different pg/vg mixtures. And I would definitely make sure to keep the water level up. Good luck. I hope it all works out well!

Another newbie here too - My husband and I starting vaping just over two weeks ago. He was the same with Pepcid AC; Heartburn was part of daily life. (For me, headaches and BC Powders were part of daily life). Within days (like 2?) his heartburn all but disappeared. My massive 'good morning' headaches were gone (still have "low-keyed" ones, but the difference is incredible).

Regarding the OP's issue, several people have mentioned a possible VG sensitivity, but from the OCD amount of material I've read, PG sensitivities seem to be more common (though still a rarity, if that makes sense). Might try a VG-only juice if it remains an issue.

I'm with BCB---my heartburn is all but GONE. I used to have heartburn ALL time time when I was a smoker. It all ended when I started vaping. I didn't even notice at first, then my daughter asked me for a TUMS because she knew I ALWAYS carried them, and it made me notice that I hadn't eaten one in over two weeks!

Hello:)

I read a lot about VG and PG side effects and found many threads that people had stomach/heartburn issues with PG much more than VG.I have Bile reflux disease and Gastritus so I have to be REALLY careful what I eat/drink so I started with 100% VG juices and decided to DIY and make my own Nic juice and ordered 5 flavorings to try.

I got wicked heartburn with THREE flavorings and ZERO heartburn with two flavorings!! The 3 that caused me heartburn were : Grape, Watermelon, and Raspberry- all fruity flavors! They probably have citric acid in them which I can't have with my stomach issues (or your sister's issues).

The two flavors that caused me no hb/reflux were Cotton Candy and Marshmallow:) So the flavor of the juice can play a BIG part in heartburn and reflux!

I've found a ton more flavors since my initial purchase that are safe to vape with reflux/gastritus: Creamy Coconut, Banana Bread, Vanilla flavors, Creme de Menthe, Belgium Waffle, Butter Pecan, Rootbeer float, Gingerbread.

Just have her vape some NON- fruit flavors in all VG before she throws in the towel please!

Good advice. I'm glad you posted since I didn't think of that. One of my friends is actually allergic to citric acid. She can't even eat an orange.

Wow!! So much input- thank you, thank you so much!! It looks like we have us some trouble-shootin to do now lol!! I really don't want her to give up on this either. She has the nic patches that her insurance pays for. Oh and BTW, she has to be on a lower 18mg strength of those because of heart conditions I think. She's quit with the patches before, but not for very long, like alot of us.
I will try diluting my 50/50 juice with PG instead for her and if that doesn't work, I will dilute with 50/50 myself to the premix and maybe try to lower the nic a little more. Also, non-fruit flavors. This just HAS to work for her because I know she would love it
I'm OC myself and have read tons of info here and thought that PG allergies were alot more common, but I guess everyone's different
