in this video of Zophie finishing her coil/wicking she puts on her rta and starts to puff.
you can see her mouth piece is rather tiny so her mouth is pretty close to the rta.

start video at 9:08 seconds.

Are you trying to tell me that after a few puffs or so that thing is not going to get hot to the touch?

my issue is i have a regular Mod with a regular tank. after like 10 or so long puffs my tank would get warm to the touch. i can touch it but its warm. warmer and warmer after-which.

this is a subject NO ONE has talked about not in videos not in forums. the heat from the tank.

is this how its supposed to be?

Hello and welcome to ECF, aalmosawi. :) Because I'm a chain vaper and can heat up my tank in no time flat, I do use taller tips either of acrylic or wood to keep my lips away from any metal. They also help cool down the vapor a bit which I also like. From what I can gather on those very short tips which are usually very wide bore, they are used for direct lung inhalation. Isn't it great there are so many choices for us out there to suit our needs. :)

hey thanks for the reply.
you know this whole heat thing is rather scary/frustrating for myself being a newbie in this arena.
the pros DO NOT share their secrets ... its a dark world... this vaping world.

i also have a plastic tip which is used on hookah hoses on my mod. and i like to keep pulling in a long breath of 10 seconds because I want clouds.

my question now is: when it gets warm: Do i continue on OR halt and freak out ?

I DO NOT want breaks. I like to vape and want to continue.

What tank and device are you using and what is the resistance/type of coil?

In that video the user is vaping an RDA that seems to have a large suppy of air which can cool the coils down rather quickly. RDAs usually have a shorter air path too.

I notice that my low resistance RDA, Phenotype L, stays very cool despite a 0.35ohm resistance because I have plenty of air flow.

My RTAs will get warmer, but the heat isn't traveling to the drip tip enough for me to notice. I use a few short stainless steel tips.

As long as its warm and not hot I wouldn't worry about the issue. If it's hot and uncomfortable then you may have an issue such pertaining to the air flow setting or the way the coil is positioned.

How fast this happens depends on the RDA or RTA and the build in it. When using the larger wire the atty heats up faster then using thinner wire. An atty that is bad about this is call the Veritas, The air comes in hits the coil, then hits the opposite side of the cap. This causes it to heat up fast. Add in a reduced chamber also.

Yes it could become an issue. There is a plastic insulator inside the atty that can melt if it gets to hot.

As an example again the Veritas RDA (rebuildable dripping atomizer), the clone version insulator has a lower melting point then the Authentic.

Another thing to keep in mind, your using an RTA (Rebuildable Tank Atomizer) the heat will slowly cook the juice in the tank effecting its taste.

ok well heres a pic of my setup.
the tank is from a istick 40W clone. i dont know what its called. its a good tank nonetheless.

the coil in there is what came with the tank. its a NI200.
Now. against my better judgement of using NI200 and not listening to the warning videos on YouTube about nickel being bad I really have No choice as thats all thats available where i live.
The shops here only bring modkits and hardly any parts. if i want to order anything out internationally the companies that ship charge me a $100 for shipping. This is even when my whole order doesnt exceed $30 dollars. not worth it.

I do not own any temperature controlled devices so I cannot accurately comment on what you settings you should be using. I think those settings would be fine with a 0.2 ni200 coil, but can you take a picture of the tank itself too? This way we can get an idea of how the airflow is based on what kind of tank it is.

It seems that the tank would operate just fine at those setting as long as you give it enough air when you draw from it. Are you having any other symptoms such as the vape being too hot? Are you having any error messages?

I'm sure someone with TC experience will answer too.

Maybe lower the wattage and see how that works out.

Also, the tank that you are using is not an RTA, if it takes replaceable coils its likely a clearomizer, just bit of vape vocabulary :).

ok here are a 3 clickable pics of the tank.
notice i have a plastic tip which is used in hookah hoses because sometimes it does get warm.
i also have the vent "slit" wide open and its two sided.

do you see that plastic mouth tip i have on there? now a question i've always wondered on ... when i am vaping i am tasting the ejuice and if you zoom on you can see drops of ejuice.
is this normal?

I don't think I've seen that tank before, but the device looks to be a evic vt. What kind of coil is going in the tank? A lot of the new tanks have compatibility with other coil brands, which is nice.

When you say you are tasting the liquid do you mean you are getting liquid in your mouth with you inhale? That usually is a sign of some type of flooding of the coil. This can be remedied by taking apart the tank and cleaning excess liquid of the parts, such as blowing liquid off the coil. If the flooding gets to the point of gurgling then there might be a loose or broken seal somewhere.

I'm sorry if it doesn't sound like I'm helping much, but I'm trying to figure out the heat issue. A lot of these newer tanks are geared toward high power and lung inhales. They generally do create a good amount of warmth, but never get hot to the point where its uncomfortable, unless you are chain vaping a lot.

I vape mainly RTAs in which I build the coils and wick them for the tank. I don't own any clearomizers, but diagnosing a clearomizer is usually a bit easier, which works out for you.

the coil is what came with the tank. this is a clone istick tc40w tank that i am using on a evic-vt. which is ok for the most part.

i am not flooding it at all. the tank is half full. in fact just right now i cleaned the hell out of the it by taking everything apart and will try again.
and yes. i mean i feel like drops of the ejuice are coming into my mouth. i am tasting the ejuice. so i figured this maybe normal cause almost everyone says they taste the ejuice ?

i understand ... when i cleaned up the tank just now i made sure the wholes in the coil head lined up exactly with the slits of the vents on the tank as well so its a straight line of air going through. i'll see if that helps.

The drops of e liquid you are tasting could just be condensation. I get it on all my devices.

In regards to the heat, I've found that different tanks seem to heat up to a different extent. For example I switched from the aspire nautilus to the kanger subtank because I found the nautilus to be too hot for me.

The subtank had greater air flow so therefore stayed cooler even when using the sub ohm coils.

It could just be a characteristic of your tank.

Vaping causes condensation in the tube. Occasionally you may draw some into your mouth. Simplest solution is to lightly blow into the tip to drive moisture down the tube.
More complicated, thin pipe cleaner, to clear tube.

Heat comes from continually applying high power.
Running in Temp mode prevents most all of the over heating effect - once you learn how to optimize TC.

Running in Power mode. Often, Chain Vapers will continue to Draw after releasing the power. This helps to Cool the coils down quicker, reducing heat build up.
Some use Heat sinks(same diameter as the tank) to draw off excessive heat.
Some use Delrin insulators

OR air flow Drip tips

There are many ways to Control excessive heat.

If one prefers Hooka - Moderate Vaping at Lower temps is advised. Hooka is a Coldish Vape, due to the Long travel to the tip.

Okay. I missed where you said evic Vt, my apologies.

As far as the heat goes, how are you drawing on that tank? Coming from a cigarette or hookah to that tank with the air wide open you need to draw into your lungs as opposed to mouth to lung. Try tighten down the draw for a mouth to lung vape.

The liquid popping into your mouth is not normal operation, but can happen on those tanks. You can play around with the wattage settings and the airflow to see if you can get rid of it.

Good luck with it and let us know what comes of it.

shipping : I had the same problem until I discovered fasttech; free shipping worldwide ; I use the $1 Swiss post option for better tracking.

As for heat: it's all about size.
Smaller things get hotter faster.
