Doing some online searching for the real world pricing, the Cuboid is only priced about $5 more than the evic VTC Mini. For that price, getting the Cuboid is a no brainer.

Great review, John! It sure sounds like a great set up...maybe a little advanced for some of us, but very interesting all the same!

Okay so even if I don't win its doable! Sweet! That tank seems confusing to me though but it's great that if Comes with all those coils. Also i have two evic minis and i only have two issues with it.. The freezing when firing and the battery doesn't last me a whole day. Other than that I love the size and feel. The screen looks amazing on the cubis though woooowheeeee!

I think it's a marvelous bridge between simple with regulated adjustable wattage, relatively simple, offering presets for the most popular TC wires, and somewhat advanced with user adjustable TCR.

A mod that will grow with the user...

As contraire. While the mod is quite advanced, the preset modes makes it very plug and play. Get some pre-built temp control coils and you can vape away without much fuss at all.

So it's a great mod for an experienced vaper? I'm still kinda new to the whole regulated mod thing, so I'd love to have a chance to get my feet wet, so to speak, with one of these. I prefer rda's, but given the right rebuildable tank, I might be a convert! LOL!

In the last 2/3 months I got 4 TC mods. At the same time I began building coils. It scared me at first to build my own but after the first couple they were easy and nothing to be scared of. So, I ordered titanium and nickel wire and started last month building for my TC mods. It isn't any different really so I know you can do it. :D

I have already entered in a previous post but since I'm new I just wanted to say a little more about myself! I may not have come to the forums or done much online in my vaping years, but I have been vaping since mid 2011 and stopped smoking entirely on 7/7/2011. I have mostly built my own mods and I have been vaping for years now so I wouldn't consider myself a complete novice, though I also wouldn't consider myself a master... However veteran is a nice phrase lol

Here is an altoids box I built about 2 years ago! It's only ever had the altoids faceplate replaced due to scratching and such, though functionality has always been superb! Yeah... she's not as fancy as the high tech ones, but I tend to just enjoy the tinkering part of vaping and to keep it low cost, which is why I normally stick to my own creations. I also don't normally have a great deal of funds to dedicate to vaping due to my own physical struggles and the expenses associated with cancer

She ain't nuffin FANCY, but whatever lol : P

Why tank? RDAs work in TC as much as tanks. Maybe moreso... with a tank you can vape for hours without a dry hit. No so with a dripper.

In my experience, TC coils haven't worked as well in RDA's than they do in tanks. With tanks, there is a constant supply of juice, so you don't get the burnt taste when the coils gunk up. With a dripper, once the coil gunks up, you get a burnt taste once the coil starts to run dry (but not dry enough where you get a burnt hit).

This is why I stopped using TC coils in RDA's. With the juices I've been using, the coils will turn black within a day. With Ni and Ti wire, since you can't dry burn the coil to vaporize all that burnt on juice, it is a bear to clean. With kanthal, I can just fire the coils until they glow and the coils are clean as new again. With the Aromamizer, the coil and the wick can be black and because it is a tank and it constantly replenishes the juice to the coil, it still tastes as good as a brand new coil and wick.

Not my experience at all. But, I do tend towards lighter juices in my drippers. Further, I've had decent amounts of luck just brushing the coils clean (er) with a soft toothbrush before rewicking Ti and Ni. With SS, I just dry burn as usual.

In my tanks, on the other hand, I run coffees... DARK and gunky. But, I can't see the wick, so I worry less and let the flavor take me.

I think it is a great mod for a beginner, with enough capabilities for an experienced vaper who wants to play around with adjusting TCR's. It is a great all around mod. The tank is a great beginning tank and it is priced reasonably (I see them online for around $17-$20). The one downside that has been pointed out is that it doesn't have an RBA, and since I'm on my first coil, haven't had the chance to see if the coil can be rebuilt.

I vape fruit juices, so they tend to be sweet and will gunk up coils. When I was running Ni and Ti coils in drippers, I had tried just brushing the coils, but the black gunk was just caked on and wouldn't come off. I had some success pulse firing it, but there is some concern since you are heating up the coils until they just start glowing. I have some 316L stainless wire on order, so I will switch to that when I get it in.

I've been rebuilding my STM coils for a while, just have been short on funds to sink into TC supplies for now.

OK, I have one complaint about the Cubis tank. I went through two tank fulls of juice. Both times refilling the tank and then reinserting the used coil back into the tank, that first vape is on a flooded coil, so you do get some juice spitting up into your mouth. I did not notice this when I put in a new coil and I suspect that with the bottom feed and a saturated wick, submerging the coil into a tank full of juice causes the juice to be pushed up through the bottom feed juice channels thereby flooding your coil. I guess with a new coil this doesn't happen because the wick hasn't been saturated yet, so the wick readily soaks up that juice.

If you need wire....let me know. I have tons and tons of wire.....Ni and Ti. My Ti wire is just 26 gauge, but I have Ni wire in 26, 28, and 30 gauge.

Yeah, I never pulse fired and Ti or Ni (intentionally). I also tried to keep it from getting that caked on. A simple warm water rinse can also help.

Of course, none of this means anything with the durability, usability (intentionally multiple modes), and availability of Stainless.

I run 430 SS with a custom TCR of .00138, or 014 on devices equipped with Nickel Purity.

I've also had some luck running SS on Ti mode with a temp offset.
