See my comments in the BIG THREAD with Bronze. Loosening the bed and tilting it up will access the tank and pump assembly very easily.
pain in the ... to replace or repair.

That's what I've heard too.
Everyone around here with older dodges just say "oh, they all do that".

Yes, this can be a general fixit or how does that work thread. From unstopping a sink to repairing your car. Even can share your technique for pulling out a splinter. That way you can blame us when your kids scream in pain and ask why you did that.
Seriously, this thread could be a general household repair thread. Cars, appliances, home repair, etc. I know I've fixed just about everything to one extent or another. Lots of others have. So ask away and we can help each other out with all sorts of stuff. Maybe we can get Dusty to help out with camera stuff.

looks like a good thread i also swing a few wrenches under the shade tree. and those obd readers have come down a lot in price and are well worth it imo as the dealer will charge you $100 just to check y your engine light came on in the first place so to pay for one it really pays for itself after a couple of uses ie cost for unit $250 use three times save $50 and so on

Most scanners available OTC will do a decent job. Some won't read manufacturer specific codes however. I paid $160 a couple of years ago for one from one of the tool trucks. It does a fair job. Technology since then makes mine a piece of junk. At least updates are available for it.

Mine is the Launch CReader. Some vehicles I can monitor O2 sensor operation. The codes it can retrieve have to be stored in the Engine Control Module (ECM). If it is only a fault in the Trans Ctrl Module (TCM) then it will not access it. The Controller Area Network (CAN) systems do help the situation due to the inter-communication of modules. When a fault is stored for the transmission, the ECM will also receive the info and store a fault. BMW & Mercedes, to name a few, have central computers, called Diagnostic Modules (DM) that all other systems communicate through.

Damn. I believe I have a fault in the Trans Ctrl Module then. Last week check engine light came on and my car was acting sluggish while idling. I thought O2 sensor. Well it went off. This morning I was backing out of my garage and it got sluggish again and the light came back on. Had my oil changed at lunch and I had them check the codes with that thingy. Nothing showed up current or in the history. He reset it for me. Doesn't sound good. But whatdoIknow. 2007 Trailblazer LT. Just over 112,000 miles. What do you think? On the drive back to work it drove fine and the check engine light didn't come back on. And yes I turn the gas cap many times...learned that one years ago. Please tell me it's not the transmission. My budget has been slammed so many times this year it's not even funny any more. Thanks!

If there were no codes then there ain't nothing broke.

That sounds like something I would have to duplicate first hand. A code would be helpful.

Guess so! :) Orrrrrr, maybe the check engine light is broken! I'm good with it...it's getting me from point A to point B so that's all that matters. Drove great this evening. Maybe it just needed fresh oil and a little bit of attention. Hey thanks!!!
