Some people have allergies to PG, some don't handle high VG. I wouldn't recommend anyone using 100% PG. I have not come across anyone that has tried that as of yet. From reading tons of threads and my own experience high VG gives me that heavy lung feeling. 64/40 is borderline for me. When my lungs start feeling that way, I switch vaping techniques to just holding the vapor in my mouth and a very little French inhale. To much vapor through my nose, either on the inhale or the exhale, will irritate my nasal passages.

It also helps me to put the vaping away for a while. I think the longest I was able to do that while at home was half an hour. ;)

Try different PG/VG ratios. My next order I will be trying 70/30 PG/VG and see if that is better for me. I do know that I have no reaction to PG. I have tried 100% VG. That's when I discovered the heavy lung issue with high VG.

I hope you find your ideal mix. :)

Will the difference in vapor production going from 30/70 to 70/30 Pg/vg be significant?

Maybe someone else can address that. I can say I'm satisfied with the vapor I get. I haven't paid attention to the vapor production per say.

Hmmm question: more vapor = more nic received?

I experience the 'throat coating' when i vape at higher Voltages and my juice is hotter than i normally vape. I use 70/30/11 PG/VG/Nic and a Twist with Kanger T2 LR. Used up to 4.2V is okay. Going higher than 4.2V and take a few puffs/inhales within 30 seconds, gives me this coating in the back of my throat. Continuing this vaping for a few minutes and i become dizzy. But that might be because of the Nic.

can someone explain to me why you would mix pg and vg..?? couldn't you just use pg or vg on its own ??

thanks

PG is for throat hit. VG is for the clouds. You want throat hit to resemble an analog, but want to do stealth vaping? Take 100% PG. You want lots of clouds and don't care for throat hit? Use 100% VG. For anything in between, use any combination of mixed PG/VG.

EDIT: VG masks the flavor a bit. So that's why people in general prefer higher PG like in a 70/30 PG/VG mix.

Is a heavy feeling in the lungs normal when you first start out vaping?

I just started vaping a week ago again, originally I stopped vaping because I could not a consistent suppllier ( this was 2 years ago ) . Now here I am again and know exactly what you mean. As the other posters have mentioned, all the crap that we have been smoking (15 years here) of course takes a toll, hydrate yourself, and test the different PG/VG available to ya.

It may be noticeable, but significant, I don't think so. You may notice stronger TH and better flavor. VG is good for vapor production, and PG is a better flavor carrier, and also gives the juice TH. I have tried 100%VG juices, I like the plumes of vapor, but the virtually non-existent TH and weak flavor make it un-vapeable for me. I like a 50/50 mix, or something close to it.

yes, in my opinion it will be. at first I wanted throat hit, I didn't care about the vapor. 80/20 was fine for me. after a while of vaping I started not caring about a huge TH and I wanted clouds of vapor. I now vape mostly 50/50

You guys think there would be a tremendous difference in vapor production between 30/70 and 70/30 pg/vg?

And would switching to 70/30 be enough for someone who doesn't do well with VG or would it have to be 100% PG?

I think there's a difference between TYPE of vapor and QUANTITY of vapor.

Example: Nearly 100% PG with a well wicking device and hefty coil at 5 volts = good amount of PG vapor.

VG vapor is light---feels like air. If you vape pure VG (try dripping some in an atty if it doesn't bother you) you won't even feel it. You wouldn't know you vaped anything if you closed your eyes.

OTHO...VG is more like fat, where PG is more like...PG.

PG is a bit of an irritant, as I understand it. So it gives TH. May irritate lungs too.
But too much VG gives me a "coating" feeling I don't like.

I'm not sure anything is perfect. There were some concerns in another thread about fats in lungs in general. I can't find it right now. I decided to cut down on VG at that point. OTHO, PG could irritate asthma and such too. So...IDK.

EDIT: Found it. Discussion evolves through this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/344947-can-anyone-help-me-refute.html

Just some thoughts. I didn't even mention flavorings. Whole can of worms there too.

Find what works for you. I'd stay low VG if I could. For those sensitive to PG....IDK what to say.

My last mix was 50/50. But as I said, I'm cutting back to 75/25 like I used to use. It can be harsher. Make sure it is well atomized with a good PV. I'll probably cut back even more over time to see what I can do.
