I've run into a bit of an issue on my mech mod and dripper set up lately. I typically run very airy attys at .3-.4 ohms dual coil set ups. My preference is very high VG content 3 to 6 mg of nicotine. I wick with rayon and im probably more on the cloud chasing side of things then flavor. I've been noticing lately that all my juices be they a cream type or fruit type seem to be developing a bit more harshness in the hit. Its not limited to one brand of juice, or flavor. Anyone have any thoughts on how to smooth out the hit, without loosing to much cloudage?

I know the kids that do the clouds that drip at the B&M have their own preferred juices..Space Jam and some others..that are FOR THAT specifically.

find a cloud chaser and ask him..they pass those lil glass droppers around like candy.

I know most of the ones I use..not a chance they can take that kind of heat and I use all VG mostly.

Once I bought from Walmart a bottle of pure VG USP grade and tried to vape pure VG and see what is all about. The thing was so thick and the throat hit was unbearable. Later I found out that the pure VG should be mixed with other things in order to make it vapeble.
Now I prefer to buy premium juices no nicotine with 99% VG ready made buy professionals and all I can say is YUMMY.

But as a side note I can mention that the same 99% VG juice dripping has different taste than in a Kayfun(as an example). I love dripping.

Thanks for the input everyone. I switched to max VG because I didn't like the harshness of the mixes(or the chemical smell or taste). I love my drippers but this throat hit thing is getting annoying. I don't think its a heat thing because as I'm not building that low (case in point a friend vapes a .15ish and I find it to be to overbearing). Guess I'll try going up to .5 ohms with some of these flavors. That harshness and bite is really killing the cream and cake type flavors that I'd like to get into.

If you're running max VG and the same amount of Nicotine that you've previously been using, and you're experiencing harshness then it's got to be the flavoring or the build. Or consider anything else that you've made recent changes too. Either that or the obvious which is to clean and rewick.

I'm running 90VG/10PG on a 0.7 build right now and am experiencing little throat hit. There shouldn't be any reason that you experience any throat hit with that amount of Nicotine and VG. Then again I don' build below 0.5 ohms.

So far I've found I can add more water to vg when I'm using a dripper than when I was using a bcc.
am currently experimenting with that

The trouble with burnt stuff is it kills your tastebuds and the only alarm bell left afterwards is hit to the back of the throat.
Listen too your senses and turn down the heat.

A high VG mix should have less TH than the PG juice. I noticed my hits got more harsh at that ohm level. I had to back it up to 0.5 and higher. I'm not into clouds so it wasn't any sacrifice. Now my vape tastes like it should. I also keep it under 20 watts. But that's where I found my flavor zone. Also on a side note you should switch to Japanese Organic cotton. The rayon is not a good wick and could possibly be adding to the TH.

I tried rayon for a week, it changed the taste of my flavors, it definitely brought out the flavors a little bit more but I got throat irritation, I remember waking up with a raspy voice, a whole lot of creamy flavors really messed with my throat but the fruity mentholy flavors were amazing. I make my juice at a 10% ratio so 90/10 I've since gone back to my kohgendo and as long as i drip every 3 or 4 hits I never get a rough hit.

I think I figured out a part of the problem...I was doing some pretty fancy shmanzty builds (parallel, parallel twists, etc) which to get to the .4 range I generally needed alot of hot wire, so between that and over wicking, it was adding some unwanted heat and sharpness. I just did a test build at .5ish dual wit 26 gauge wire on my plume and my banana berry dream has smoothed out a bit. I took the rayon out of my clt 2 parallel build (.25) and rewicked with about a quarter less rayon and it seems better on the initial test. After thinking about it, the deep sub ohm builds that i've tried with some associates, my parallel builds were getting hotter overall (more wire I guess) then theirs, at higher ohms. Methinks some more experimentation may be required.
