Hello everyone.

I've finally joined the forum because I couldn't really find a clear-cut answer to this question.
I am pretty new to vaping (quit analongs about 4 months ago) and have been diving into the world of rebuildables head-first. What a great hobby! So much better than smoking ever could be. I love love love it.

The one thing I really truly haven't tried my hand at has been DIY e-liquid mixing. Now I like tobacco flavors. My favorite truly tobacco tasting one is probably Ahlusion's Devil Dog. I loe how strong, complex, and completely natural tasting it is. I've been disappointed by many a vendor that has NET, but the taste is sort of synthetic or sweet, or off, or just not tobacco...

Now when I see people doing DIY mixing they seem to be taking VG and/or PG and mixing it with nicotine and commercially available flavorings. The question I have is why not just take some fine tobacco and let it steep in alcohol or PG/VG maybe some other solvent and then mix it with PG/VG and maybe nicotine if you need it? Then allow the alcohol to evaporate off. Maybe the steps should be done in some other order or with other solvents, but that would be the basic idea. In other words, instead of using commercially made tobacco flavors, why not just use tobacco itself as the flavor? Is this how NET e-liquids are made? If so, how come I can't find the recipe thread?

Also I'd like to know if this would work for coffee. I assume coffee would be even easier as the beans don't have the nicotine to complicate matters.

Sorry if that was long-winded. I do have a tendency to do this.

You don't really need PGA to do NET's. Just soaking tobacco leaves or coffee in PG will do quite a bit. The trick is to get the suspended solids out after the soaking. Take a look at the link that Spazmelda provided and you will find much of what you are looking for.

And, now with 5 posts under your belt, you'll be able to post in that sub too.

Awesome! Thank you everyone for the info. That's exactly what I was looking for. I don't know if it was some sort of ECF setting or something, but that subforum was invisible to me.

I can't wait to make the coffeebaco e-juice of my dreams.

Hoosier (or anyone else who knows) do you know if any nicotine makes it through such an extraction, or do you have to add it back in?

Well, some nic will leach out, heat gets more out of the leaves, as does chopping them finely (think either burning it, chewing it or, snuff - all those means get the nic out.) How much, that depends on so many factors that I wouldn't hazard a guess on anything I didn't make myself that way.

If you are vaping low nic, may not want to add any, if you do higher nic, maybe half what you would with no nic in the flavor and test vape it to see how it is for you then, adjust before dong a very large batch of it.
