Hi,

My name is Mike and I live in Minnesota. I have been vaping since mid-November. I had been seeing Blu ads on tv and knew there was a brand called Cigalectric being sold at my local gas station so I bought a kit when I bought a pack of smokes. I then charged the battery and decided to try it. I liked it and didn't finish my pack of smokes and have been vaping since.

After a week I decided to examine some companies online since a pack of Cigalectric cartomizers cost $25 for five and wanted to save money. I decided to go with Firelight-Fusion and have been pretty happy with them. One thing about the Cigalectric cartomizers is that I can blow a large amount of vapor which is nice. I buy a pack here and there and refill them when I finish them.

Right now I'm at a point that I want to upgrade to a more sophisticated PV. I have seen a lot of people talk about eGo brand PV's but I would like recommendations. Nothing too complicated but I don't mind learning.

One last thing is that vaping saved my life. It is important for me to keep being able to do this so I signed the petition. Look forward to learning more and meeting new people.

Michael.....vaping saved my life too. Welcome to the post. I think if you want to upgrade you might want and ego twist. It is variable volt which means it has a dial to turn up or turn down to make your juice taste the way you want it to. They are cheap around
$25.00 at Altsmoke. This is a nice upgrade. They also sell the cartomizers to fit and will answer your questions....Good luck and keep vaping. Becca

Hi Mike, welcome! I prefer clearos over carts but that is just personal, and rbas over clearos. But I have found if I use the proper resistance delivery device I don't need vv. Most people will probably disagree with me as it is easier to change a dial than change your resistance delivery device. I just don't like the size difference or shape differences even on the smaller ones. I mostly use 650 mah standard egos batteries. I do have an assortment of vv devices. This is just my opinion. You could get a cheap starter kit with one battery (I would buy 2 backup backup), a charger and 2 clearos for only $15 here

Another really good way to go when just starting out is with Smokeless Image. They have the "cig-a-like" type batteries (that work VERY well) plus the larger e-go sized batteries in various mAh sizes that they call the X2. The latter can act as stand alone battery rigs...or as passthroughs with your computer or a wall wort. They have prefilled cartomizers and also juice for refilling there...and the prices are pretty good. They also have all sorts of accessories like lanyards, and drip tips and skins and little plastic boxes for storing your cartos and other bits you use for vaping...lots of stuff. Excellent CS and FAST shipping. I think you'd do well with them. I don't work for them and am not affiliated with them...but I did use their products almost exclusvely for nearly a year before I graduated to the APVs. Welcome to ECF! Take the advice in this forums, because there are much better solutions than $25 atomizers. If you're looking for a cigarette look-a-like, I don't believe you can do better than the Smokeless Image Volt. I love mine, and they receive nearly universal accolades in this forum. And I second the advice to find coupon codes. For the price of a few $25 five-packs of cartomizers, you can get stocked up on plenty of batteries, chargers, cartomizers, and juice.

Thucydides thanks for the welcome! I'm looking at the Smokeless Image site but I'm also looking into getting an eGo T kit from another site. I don't always use the $25 cartomizers. Most of the time I use Firelight-Fusion cartomizers and I have been using their liquid. I can get 25 cartomizers from them cheaper than 10 of the expensive cartomizers.

Vaping has saved my life too. Been at this for a little over two months .. There is a big learning curve because so much about vaping is subjective. I went thru the ego types till I realized the most important things for me were consistency. With the ego.. Great in the beginning with full battery. Later not so much .. I wanted a consistent vape from full battery till end so I got a Provari mini and I'm really happy. Unfortunately I have vapor tongue right now and nothing tastes good. I am hoping to recover from this soon as I am going a little insane. hopefully you will find what works best for you and what that is is anything that keeps you off of analogs. Gl and hope you find your perfect vape.

Mike, welcome aboard ECF and congratulations on switching from smoking to vaping!

I'm so brand-spanking new at this, I really hesitate to offer recommendations. But IMHO, where/when/how you want to vape could affect your choice of set-up almost as much as the desire to get good vapor production and flavor. For example, I spend most of my day sitting in front of a computer screen in a home office -- a USB-powered pass-through battery makes great practical sense for me, but before I could make that choice, first I had to know they existed!

I haven't settled on an all-day flavor yet, so I am still trying lots of sample juices. High-capacity tanks don't seem to make a lot of sense when you want to switch flavors a lot, but I quickly realized that dripping is way much too much fuss for me when I'm working -- I want to keep thinking about the job in front of me, not about hitting a small tube with the right number of drops of a liquid that could stain my clothes if I miss! So I now plan to stockpile a bunch of inexpensive cartos that I can pre-fill in many different flavors, then quickly screw off/screw on during the day when I want a change of pace.

There is so much great experience and generosity here to learn from, but it's only human nature to offer what works best for ME as what will work best for everyone. Just keep trying to filter recommendations through your own needs and you'll do great!

So I had some fun this morning and went a little wild. The brand I have been using isn't doing it for me so I ordered a Smokeless Image VOLT Pro kit, a 1300mah X2 pass through for when I'm at the computer and to try out a VV I got the Vision spinner ego VV 1300mah from gotvapes. From SI I also got some cartos, clearos, a 30ml bottle of blueberry juice and a 30ml bottle of RY4. From gotvapes I also got a Kanger T3 clearo and a 36ml bottle of Flux cafe de creme.

That might be overkill for some but for me it is a fun new hobby that will last me a couple months until I need some more juice. Plus it keeps me from smoking since I have a lot of free time.
