Hello guys , i must say i am impressed from the nice site , you can find everything in forums , yet i wanted to ask a question which i didnot see around here , well , i stopped smoking analog cigarettes 4 years ago due to heart problem (nicotine is bad for my heart) , and i would never go back to the analog smoking out of fear for my health , my question is if i start using E-cigarettes it will have any danger for me if i buy the liquids with 0 nicotine ? i mean those with sweet flavors i keep hear about , thanks .

Since you'll just be vaping pretty much PG and some flavoring, this part of the Wikipedia entry may be useful:

Since concerns have been raised by various opponent groups regarding the safety of inhaling these substances, it has been pointed out by proponents that PG has been used as an additive in asthma inhalers and nebulizers since the 1950s, with no serious adverse side effects, and because of its water-retaining properties, is the compound of choice for delivering atomized medication. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) includes propylene glycol on its list of substances Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS), and it meets the requirements of acceptable compounds within Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

If you order from FlavourArt (in Italy), they give you recommended percentage amounts and you can look at the DIY section here to see what worked best for others. The tobacco flavors use a TINY amount, like 1-2%. I used Expresso Coffee and only needed 4 drops for 15 ml of base juice. The fruit ones need more flavor, anywhere from 5-15%.

Do you have the equivalent of USP glycerin in your stores? It is cheap here, $2.99 for 177 ml, which would last you a long time.

Flavoring percentages (go to the FlavourArt, the first is for a different brand) http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/74109-guide-diy-flavoring.html

In the US, you can buy no-nicotine PG at farm supply stores and VG (USP glycerin) at drug stores and Walmart. I don't know if you can buy either, but I would guess you have a pharm grade of glycerin.

There are calculators in the DIY section. 1 ml is equal to about 20 drops of flavoring, and since you're not working with nicotine, you could experiment such as put some glycerin in a 15 ml bottle, add some drops of distilled water and then add some drops of flavor and keep adding more if you need to. It's not going to be disgusting if you have weak flavored juice, only if you get too much flavor.

There hasn't really been enough time to have done many long term studies on health as it pertains to e-cigarettes. I am NOT a doctor and I am certainly not your doctor so I cannot offer you any medical advice. I suggest you consult with your cardiologist to determine if it would be safe for you. (From the information you have provided, I would ASSUME that it is... but your M.D. will know much better than I do.)

As a word of advice, if you cannot take in any nicotine at all, be sure you stay away from tobacco flavors. Some vendors do actual tobacco extractions to get the flavor and there is ~1-3mg of nicotine that is absorbed into the flavoring so your 0 mg liquid may actually have 1-3mg. My other word of caution if you are completely nicotine intolerant, DIY may be your best option. Although it is not incredibly likely to happen, it is always possible that a vendor gives you the wrong bottle, does a poor calculation, or mixes up bottles of nicotine levels. Most people may not notice such a small discrepancy, but if your health is directly impacted by even the slightest bit of nicotine, you very well should be cautious of this as there is always room for human error. I think your best bet would be DIY with PG that you buy from Walgreens or other drug stores and non-tobacco flavoring.

Best of luck to you and welcome to the forum!

Flavour = taste
Vape = cloud of vapour when you inhale and exhale
Throat Hit = the feeling of the vapour hitting the back of your throat

I've bought juices and kit from Liberty Flights in UK. Their service was excellent. Have a good look at the Riva 510. It seems to be a favourite with most new vapers in the UK and is compatible with lots of other bits and pieces you will probably want in a few weeks.

I particularly enjoyed the Cherry Tobacco and their Chocolate. If you buy 5ml menthol you can always add a drop or two to any tobacco flavour that doesn't quite suit you. Don't buy large sizes for a few weeks as your taste buds change and what you enjoy now you may hate in a couple of weeks.

I'm a beginner myself (as my post count shows), and I know how you feel; a lot of it can be very overwhelming. Vaping isn't like regular cigarettes, where you pick a brand, light and puff; it's more like cooking, with infinite variety and ingredients. Everyone has thier own tastes, styles, and preferences, and it shows in the staggering amount of information here. No one here will ever simply say 'Here, go buy this' (and if they did, I wouldn't recommend it), because no one else is you, nad no one else like exactly what you like. So all people can do is offer thier opinions on things; take what you can from that and build what works for you. Above all, enjoy!

I only said that from what I understood of your original post; you had to quit smoking because the nicotine was very harmful to you. If small amounts of nicotine are okay for you, then by all means, feel free to order pre-made juice at a low concentration! I was simply giving you some recommendations for a zero nicotine lifestyle that I thought you required.

As for paypal, paypal closes the accounts of anyone who uses it for anything related to e-cigarettes, so you will likely not find vendors who will openly accept it. If you contact them via email, many will accept paypal on the condition that you make no mention of what the purchase is for. Not all vendors are willing to do this, but in my experience, many are willing to work with you. :)

Like I said previously, I suggest you contact your cardiologist and see if you must abstain from nicotine entirely or if it is okay for you to consume small amounts of nicotine.

Edy, I'm a beginner too, so I understand. If I were you, I wouldn't order any low-nic juice. Your doctor doesn't want it to affect your heart and even a little bit when you have gone so long without smoking could cause some constriction that could be harmful. If you were still smoking, different story.

I was just offering a suggestion about how easy it would be to make zero nicotine liquid, and you'd be 100% sure that it was. Because you aren't looking for nicotine, making your own would be extremely easy once you had flavors. It's working with nicotine (and finding a perfect flavor for you) that is difficult.

I didn't see your other thread until after I posted on this one, but go with whatever system you like on Liberty-Flights. I would think a Riva Lite kit would be all you need. That's a reliable battery with enough power behind it. I'd probably order 2 kits so you don't have to worry about a battery failure, and you'd have enough atomizers.

I meant to add this:

Don't worry about having to order liquid from anyone with your order. If you go buy a bottle of pharm grade glycerin and some distilled water, you can literally just put a little bit of the distilled water into the glycerin and shake it up and use it. It won't have much of a taste, slightly sweet, but you will get clouds of vapor and feel like you are smoking.

Then, you can later experiment with flavor by ordering from FlavourArt by pouring out your bottle of "plain" into some tiny bottles (which you can order from FlavourArt) and adding a few drops into each.
