Ok, first some background about me. I've been smoking for 20 years too long and have tried several methods for quitting with
no success. A family member bought me a very cheap e-cig starter kit and said I should try it. I'm always willing to try new
things so I said I'll give it a go. I was kind of surprised that I had never considered e-cigs before and realized that I knew
absolutely nothing about them. I had a completely backwards and wrong idea of what they were all about. Funny how that
works.

So, I tried my new e-cigs and I thought, Wow! these things are really gross....lol. Yeah, they were not very tasty. However, I
saw great potential in them as a smoker and said to myself, this could actually work (if they tasted better). Even though
they tasted like #%@* nothing has ever satisfied my craving quite like this. I knew if I could find something that tasted
better I would finally be free of smoking forever.

Thanks to countless threads and opinions here on ECF and after searching almost every main street and back alley on the
internet, so much so that I almost feel like I'm now part of the matrix. Seriously, I had some nightmares where I'm in
an endless crowd of people that are individually shouting random words like clearomizer! drip tip! atomizer! voltage!
cartomizer! ect...ect... PLEASE! MAKE IT STOP!!!!

Alright, I'm calm now. Joking aside, all of this overwhelming info has helped me decide where I want to start. I've already
tried the crappy stuff and had an opportunity to try an ego style device (was much better than my first try). But, it wasn't
for me. So, I'm going straight for finish line. Well, more like the beginning of the finish line.

I bought a beautiful overachieving lightsaber! uhh, I mean Vamo v3! Lol, I know, everyone thinks the poor little gal is ugly (yes
it's female because there's no way I'm putting a guy in my mouth). Anyway, I think it's the inside that really counts and price
is also a factor. Ok fine it's mostly cost that makes me look at a vamo and think wow! sooooo sexy! It won't matter anyway
when I put a custom leather (maybe leather) sleeve on it that my wife is going to make for me. I would be happy with or
without a sleeve though.

I feel like I'm writing a book now so moving on. I ordered my vamo v3 from fasttech but I made a mistake. No big deal just
wanted to know if I could fix it. I got the vamo v3 ss with the crappy charger and not awesome batteries. whoops!

So my questions are,

1.Can I change my order to the kit that comes with the better charger and batteries? (it ships in 3 days)

2.Has anyone had success with changing their order or is it best to just to leave it alone?I can get some better batteries
elsewhere if that is best.

3.Is the crappy charger really that bad? what exactly is the difference between the two?

4.Can I just buy some good batteries and use them with the not so good charger?

I've searched the forum here and the FAQs on fasttech site but I couldn't find anything other than being able to add items
to your existing order. Nothing about actually changing the order. Any help would be appreciated.

One other thing I would much appreciate is some suggestions on what type or brand cleros go great with the vamo V3. From
those of you that own 1 and have found what works best from your experience through trial and error. Keep in mind that I
will be getting a Kanger Protank but would like to try others too.

Oh, and Liquids! I don't know where to even start. I'm looking for something close to a light cig taste. like camel lights but any
tobacco-ish flavor that is good or popular will do. Some names of flavors and where I can get them would be great.

I would like to thank everyone on this forum (members and owners) for all of the info already provided. There is so much
helpful information here.:)

Really excited! and I'm looking forward to getting my foot into the vaping world and out of the smoking depths of peril.

I'd just pick up better batteries elsewhere and keep the ones with the kit as backups, never hurts to have spares in case you run out of charge on the run. If you post a link of what kit you ordered I'm sure we can help answer your questions about the charger as well.

For eliquids, I'm not much of a tobacco liquid user, but I have RY4 on order from High Desert Vapes and once it shows up I'll come back and comment on its taste if I think about it. I used to smoke Camel Wides in college, so if I had to guess, I don't expect the RY4 to be similar at all, but hopefully better. If you're dead set on a Camel-type juice, look for Sahara (Don't remember company on this one), V2's Desert Joe, or the Halo Turkish blend, I've heard good things about all three. Also MFS has Desert Ship, but reviews are mixed.

Welcome to ECF and congratulations on beginning your vaping journey.

Cancel your order and order the kit with the good batteries and charger.

How do I cancel my order?
You can cancel and obtain a refund yourself by visiting: My Account > Unshipped Orders, click on the order number you want to cancel, then click the "Cancel Entire Order" link.

You may also let us know and we will cancel and refund your order for you.

Try a Vision Vivi Nova (make sure the brand is Vision) which is a single top coil design. That will produce a warmer vape than the Pro Tank. You also might want to try an Innokin iClear 30. They have dual top coils which produces a warm vape with good vapor production. However stick to the glass Pro Tank for the naughty juices, juices that crack the plastic on clearomizers.

Halo is generally well regarded for tobacco flavors and they offer sample packs.

Phil Busardo has tons of eliquid reviews. What were you vaping whilst getting a nasty taste? On a mod get at least 4 batteries. Get two mods. Some ppl hate cartos the filler is gross IMO. I use a tank & mesh wick or iclear 16 clearo. The poly fill in blu style burns in my XP, yack. You could be a dripper. You'll find your vaping style. I use an epipe with tank sometimes cuz I'm a chain puffer at home. I don't want to kill u with anty more info !

First, I wan't to apologize for the way my post was spaced (it's a little hard to read). I'm not sure why it came out like that. It looked fine in the preview. To be honest, I'm having a bit of trouble navigating the site and working with it.

Thanks for your reply. Here is the link you suggested.
$50.19 Vamo V3 6-in-1 Variable Voltage Electronic Cigarettes Set with OLED Screen - 2*18350 / stainless steel / US plug at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Also, thanks for the other suggestions. It's funny you mentioned the Halo Turkish blend because I have been considering that 1 but I didn't have much to go on. I'm not set on a camel light taste I just don't know where to start and thought that might be a good place.

I have heard about the ry4 and I'm curious but not sure if I would like it so it's on the list but not as a starter.

So will this charger work ok with some better batteries. I plan on buying some really good ones but I'd rather not have to buy another charger. Not right away but eventually for sure.

Wow everyone replies so quickly and is so helpful!

peraspera, I would hate to cancel the order because that would push it back another 5 days and that probably doesn't include the weekend. It's already a 14 day wait. If that charger will work with some good batteries I'll just keep it. If not then I guess I have to cancel.

I want a protank because I like that it's glass so that's already on the list. I want some others also though. I was considering the vivi nova but wasn't sure if it would work well with a vamo v3. So thanks for the suggestion I'm going to put a vivi(vision) on the list.:) I like the sound of a warm vape but this stuff is new to me so we will see.

^^^ The kit you linked to is not the one you should get. You want this one with the Nitecore i2 charger and Panasonic batteries, Vamo V3 Stainless Steel Variable Voltage E-Cigarette Battery Compartment Setwith Nitecore I2 US battery charger / 2*Panasonic CGR18650CH 18650 batteries.

That charger will work very well for any of the replaceable batteries one uses for vaping.

Tribeca is probably Halo's most popular tobacco so that would be a good one to include. Chasing down flavors you truly love can sometimes be a long and tedious process. Many good brick and mortar stores allow you to sample flavors. Go that route at first if practical.

peraspera,

Yes, I realized after I placed the order that I should have bought the other setup. My question is if the not so good charger will get me by until I can get another 1 later down the road. I'm getting better batteries anyway I just want to know if the charger will harm good batteries if I put them in there or if it just won't charge them at all. Everyone says don't get the crappy charger so I'm wondering why exactly they say that. will it do harm? will it not work? will it just take longer to charge?
If they will just change the order without having to cancel that would be great but I really don't want to cancel because the ss vamo v3 seems to popular right now and is hard to find for that price or even at all. I'm afraid that if I cancel and then place another order It might be forever before I receive it or worse they sell out by the time they get to my order. If that charger will work but just not as good I can live with that because I have already placed my order and 14 days is already a long time. If it won't work at all with good batteries like AW or Efest than I can't use it and will have to cancel.

I've had my eye on tribeca too. It sounds like I would like it. So far I think I will get Tribeca or Turkish blend.

thanks again for your help and replies.:thumb:

I need to get going but I will check back later today on the replies.

Thank you everyone for being so helpful.

^^^The batteries for the VAMO are pretty powerful and are perfectly capable of easily starting a fire on a misbehaving charger. I personally would not use the charger you ordered, even for backup, but there are people who do so. If you do use that charger temporarily, do not use it unattended, make sure you pull the batteries as soon as they are charged and pick up a Lipo charging bag for it. You can pick up one cheaply on Amazon or eBay.

Pick up a couple of non-tobacco flavors as well as tobacco. Many people who think they will prefer a tobacco vape actually turn out to prefer something else. You can use the Vapor Search site to see if you have any brick and mortar shops nearby where you can sample juices.

Emphatic Yes! This is the kit you want. Cancel previous order, add this order. And, yes, you still have time to do that. Also, FT has great customer service and even if you did miss the cutoff (processing or whatever), you return these to Florida, not Hong Kong. Thank you for sharing your story, good luck, Power up and Vape On!

Protanks are awesome, but they can be temperamental. I generally don't recommend them as an "only" delivery device. Vivi-nova tanks are generally my recommendation to newbies, as they tend to have less issues with gurgles and leaks. If you run into trouble with the protank, either ask about it in the tank forum, or feel free to message me.

As far as juice is concerned, there are tons of ok tobacco juices, a few damn good ones, and a seemingly endless amount of crap. Heather's heavenly vapes has an extremely popular line of naturally extracted tobacco flavors. I recommend them to people just starting to switch, and anybody I find vaping cheapo china tobacco juice. Also, check out the WTA juices from Aroma E juice. Some people swear that it gives them the satisfaction they were missing with regular juice. Try to order a good spread of juices from different vendors, as tobacco flavors often need a week or more to steep before they taste good. That way you'll be more likely to find something you like while other juices are waiting to "wake up."

Agree that vivi's are slightly easier than bottom coils. However, vivi's have wicking issues due to their design, that the BCC don't have. I have found that all clearos that have the potential to leak, I can get to leak, even pour. Apparently, I'm an expert. That being said, the fixes are easy to learn with a couple of YouTube videos that are required to learn how to both clean, as well as clear and correct clearo issues. Additionally, the preference in vape quality for bottom coils seems about 3 to 1 preferring the bottom coil, at least on this forum. I started with CE#'s, went on to vivi's, then graduated to BCC's, and there is no better clearo out there than the Protank (particularly when used with an air flow controller) and the Davide Glassomizer that uses the same coil heads. As a personal preference (YMMV), I think the Protank and EVOD's vape better than the vivis, don't have dry hits constantly, are position independent (vivi's must be held upside down and/or twirled from time to time to stay wicked (annoying, imho), and have at least as many issues as BCC's). A lot of this is just subjective, there being no right or wrong. The vivi coil is closer to the mouth piece, so the vape tends to be warmer. Many fans of both devices. All about preference. Many of my friends also swear by the vivi's, I just wanted to add some counter perspective to the point, as well. Can't go wrong either way initially, imho.

Of course carto tanks trump any clearo imho, providing better vapor and flavor, with far fewer problems than clearos. Again, YMMV. My two cents.

To be honest, I'm a bcc guy. I don't care for ce's or vivi novas myself. Twirling is for flag teams. I suggest them to new users because out of the tanks I have experience with, they have the easiest learning curve. Every tank or clearo I've ever had leaked at some point in one way or another, but the top coil clearo's rarely gave me mouthfuls of juice or incessant gurgles like my bcc's did before I learned to equalize pressure and build the wicks just right. It's all opinion, really. I just try to offer advice that I think will help people switch as painlessly as possible, figuring that they will eventually find their way to better performance as they become more familiar with vaping in general.
I may be spoiled by my experiences with vaping years ago with stacked batteries, burnt carto fill, and atomizers ruining unsealed cig-alike batteries, but compared to gear from 3-4 years ago, top coil clearo wicking issues are a fleeting moment of "yuck" followed by a twirl and a few cold puffs.

Different experiences by different folks for sure. A protank was the first I purchased and it has been the easiest and most trouble free juice delivery device I have used...not that I have used much as I am a relative newbie.

With my genuine protank (not a copy) I have had NO flooding problems and just an occasional dry hit especially after filling up, but it's rare. I've been getting 3-4 weeks out of each head and they are cheap and very easy to replace.

I purchased a Vivi Nova copy (aClear) that was highly recommended by a local vape shop - they said it was better than the original - needless to say I don't trust these guys anymore as it is a piece of garbage. Doesn't wick that well, it is fiddly, and frankly neither my Vamo nor my SVD will even read the resistance anymore with it. Again it's a copy and a big smelly turd.

As long you as know and understand what the slight limitations are to a Protank it is a solid and hassle free device. Key points - 1) Don't fill too much - my opinion is that it needs a bit of air in the tank to wick properly. This is really only a problem if you chain vape. Fill to just below the top of the glass when it's upright. 2) With new heads it takes a day or two to start wicking 100% and the taste will also improve. 3) Don't let the juice level get too low or you may get gurgling or flooding. Anything less than 1/8" left and it's time to refill.

That's it for my protank user guide :) It may sound like the protank is fiddly but that is so far from the truth. It is a very solid device, economical, and easy to use. Again unless you chain vape, point 1 can be ignored.

You should try Dekang's Desert Ship and Turkish Blend. I've been getting mine here for sometime with no problems. Something for you to think about.
