Im new here. A friend was telling me about ecigs. I am hoping to get one for myself and my mother as soon as I can afford to.My mom is 70 and really needs to quit smoking. She has been in and out of the hospital for over a year now,and is currently in again.She does fine while in there,but as soon as she is back home she starts smioking again. Being around me as a smoker doesnt help any,even if I do it away from her. Still,I want to get an ecig kit for HER. I just cant afford one for now. I can wait if I have to. But I do hope for the day her and I both can finally quit smoking.And I do think ecigs will be the way to succeed.Wish me luck on somehow getting the money for it.We live on such a small income.But mom has GOT to quit smoking....she is already on oxygen at night.Here's hoping!!

I hope your mom decides to switch to e-cigs! I used to be a heavy cigarette smoker and I can definitely attest to the fact that e-cigs are healthier than carcinogenic tobacco smoke. It will be healthier for her and she can still get the feeling of "smoking" and nicotine if she wishes.
I don't know how much is too much for you to spend right now. But you could pick up a Riva 510 Lite Bundle from liberty-flights.com for $30. It has two batteries and two atomizers so at the very least the two of you could share the kit until you can afford to pick up a second kit. They are great e-cigs and highly recommended. Way better than most e-cigs you'll find at a mall, smoke shop or gas station.

Mypvshop has regular low prices and the fs ego kit gets very good recommendations, Randall is a really good guy. BTW, the starter kits generally come with 2 complete PVs, so you could both start, just have to wait on recharging sometimes!
Hey Silky, I wish you and your mother both the best of luck. This can be done with the right equipment and juice. I think the juice is a big plus in helping. You want to make sure you are getting the right amount of nicotene. I started vaping with the KR808's but was not getting the needed throat hit or the nicotene fix that I craved. After investing over $150 in 2 kits and other supplies I ended up switching to a bigger battery and I have been completely satisfied. The kit cost $42.00 for two batteries and a charger. IGO KITS - D&B Gold The upside to vaping, with your mother on oxygen there is no flame or fire. This supplier does not carry juice but I'm sure he could tell you the best place to go. I hope your mom gets to feeling better...smoking is such a nasty thing and a killer that addicts us horribly. Keep us updated on her health and here's my best to both of you.
Just one more thing Silky, think about how much you spend on cigaretts in a week for 2 people. That is the cost for one e-cig kit. Add a little more for juice and your good to go for at least a month! Make the jump and don't buy anymore smokes. The initial thought to most new comers on e-cigs is "I can't afford this". My response is: you can afford cigarettes and your life???
Don't mean to sound harsh...I've had to go a few kits before I gave up completely...at this point with what I've got now I have absolutely no desire for an analog and it makes me sick to smell it even. I've been using the larger batteries since June and have had great success!! Just putting it out there!!

I would not get her high nicotine if she has lung problems. Try 10-12mg and 16-18mg eliquid. And you can get fresh foam stuffing for the Riva 510 cartridges at strictlyejuice.com (search for foam) and that will last longer than the stuffing they come with and is easy to rinse and pat dry with paper towel. For cheap juice see Madvapes. Buy a 510 drip tip for testing juices or she may want to vape that way, without the cartridge.
If you get the Riva 510 kit - I recommend Boge 3 ohm cartomizers, at least to see if she's capable of keeping a cartomizer damp. A 510 delrin or plastic drip tip can be used in place of the cartomizer endcap so it's easy to remove for adding juice. I can get 7-10 days use out of a Boge carto so that is a cost of $2 for that whole time (very little added expense to use cartomizers for favorite juices). Atomizers can get dirty or fail, cartridges can dump 1/2 their juice. Cartomizers have a bit of a learning curve but deliver a more consistent vape. Fill one well (hold tissue on the threaded end hole and put in 18-24 drops). Clean it up. Then lay on different sides for 15-20 minutes to make sure the liquid is distributed and all stuffing is damp. While vaping, if the vapor lets light or dry or tastes off or the carto is getting abnormally warm, add juice. I also look at the stuffing - if the top of the stuffing is white/light then you can try adding juice and see how many drops it wants. If those work out, the BOge 2 ohm ones are hotter (though they use the battery charge up faster)
Never screw anything in or on anything further than needed for it to function. (attys, cartos, battery on charger) That will avoid pressing the battery center post in too far (fixing that can damage or kill a battery)

My wife and I spend anywhere from a $100 to $130 a week on smokes. So a kit seemed kinda cheap, considering. I'm smoking still ( but way less ), this is day 3. So as of right now I'll probably break even... maybe a little under. I understand being broke and although the kit costs a little up front "You can't win if you don't play".

Welcome. Best thing anyone ever did 4 me that i did'nt ask for was an ecig kit. i was 2pk a day stinky smoker @ 150.00 mo and now a happy indoor vaper for almost a year now. you wont regret it
I'd recommend an ego style pv, they've worked great for me and liberty flights has a couple great deals on starter kits. It's a little different from smoking but I went cold turkey to a pv and haven't looked back! I started with LR510s and 24 mg juice because I wanted to make sure I didn't feel the urge to smoke and I haven't had analogs all year
