I found that the ego(JoyE EGO type of PV) with a LR306(low resistance atomizer) was a perfect fit for me.
sorry folks work took me away and am just now getting a breather to get back here.
I really do appreciate all the advice
Reading Best E-Cigarette for a New User gave me a little insight as well.
I'm so confused though lol
I went to http://www.liberty-flights.com and http://www.mypvshop.com, sooooo many choices.
Couldn't find the one that BassMonkey was talking about
I found "EGO" but not the LR306 model.
I looked at myPVshop Electronic Cigarettes - 510/eGo Electronic Cigarette and there were so many choices from Atomizers, Cartridges, Batteries, Cartomizers, Cones and then there were accessories
I am sure that I would be happy with the EGO and I'll take that plunge but not sure how. I can see DIY refillables in the near future but first I just want to get comfortable with e-cigs, get a sense of flavors and nicotine levels. Cause it seems to me if I don't get those right I won't enjoy the experience.
Anyways wanted to circle back around here, I am looking forward to getting my first setup.

Heyas Polar Bear,
To the best of my knowledge (still pretty new to this) the 306 is actually a different model of ecig. The ego is a 510 thread. The 306 might be the same thread, but you'd need an adapter to use a 510 cart on it. No direct experience with 306 stuff though, so i can't speak with any authority on the issue.
However, there's tons of 510 LR (low resistance) stuff out there. Both atty's and cartos. And, you might even find that you like the SR (standard resistance) gear. Liberty flights is a great site for an ego kit. Whatever kit you end up buying, I'd recommend a drip tip for trying out different flavors. Don't worry if you don't know exactly what the drip tip is for. You'll figure it all out alot better when you have everything in front of you, and a driptip only costs a couple bucks most places. If you get an ego-t, I'd also recommend getting a 510 atty and cone. The 510 attys is great for dripping, and I've heard the -t atty's aren't. The cone is just decorative and makes using a 510 atty with an ego batt more comfortable.
I went with an ego for my first mail order purchase mainly because SO many ppl here had recommended it. Figured they probably weren't all wrongand found I really do love it.
No matter how much I read, alot of it didn't really make sense until I had the gear sitting in front of me, and could play around with it.
Happy hunting!

It makes sense having something in front of me will help my education better than just reading Maximillian
So I looked at Liberty flights and just when I thought ok I'll go there and pick the starter kit and off we go. Nope, there is the JOYE 510 and JOYE EGO starter kits. Was hearing good things about the EGO, that JOYE was EGO, heard that the 510 was good. All in the same breaths. There is even a RIVA 510.
Then when reading one of the kits descriptions there was this blurb "A typical cartridge lasts around 3 to 5 real cigarettes". OMG so we're talking minimum 4 cartridges a day ?
So bottom line it seems that while EGO is the way to go for begining, there is still alot of variety to choose from![]()
Lol. Yup. You nailed it
Just a little info to clear up a bit of that. Of the models you discussed (510,ego,riva) the 510 came first. The battery diameter is approximately the same as an analog. Because of this size limit, the batt didn't last too long between chages. So, joye came out with the eGo. The ego uses the same threading as the 510, so all the rest of the 510 kit was compatible with it. The ego is a fat batt model though. An ego batt is approx 1/2 inch in diameter. Seems big when you first see a picure of it, but I got used to the size and fell in love with it in no time flatAnd the ego batts charge last alot longer than a normal 510 batt.
The riva 510 is an ego clone, but a very well spoken of clone around here. Batt is pretty much the same size and a comparable ego batt. There are some small differences between the ego and riva, but nothing earthshattering. Some prefer the ego, some the riva. The riva does tend to be a bit less expensive. Both are 510 threaded, so SHOULD work with any 510 atty's, cartos, carts, etc out there.
As for the number of carts used in a day, most everyone here seems to toss the carts in the trash at first opportunity. Carto's (cartomizers) replace both the atomizer and cart, and seem to be the preferred setup for an all day smoke. A normal carto holds ~1ml of liquid. I refill a normal carto once a day at max usually. And the carto's are reusable, but do wear out.
Although most don't care for carts(cartridges), the normal atomizers are great for dripping. good way to try out different juices without getting a yucky taste into a carto, and without using alot of juice at once.
If you go with the standard riva 510 kit, standard ego kit, or standard 510 kit, i'd recommend getting a box or two of carto's along with it. Boge carto's are well respected around here, and I think liberty flights sells them for about $8 for a box of five. Maybe get 1 box of standard and one box of LR. Add in a drip tip, and you'll have almost all your bases covered for trying out different setups for just the cost of the kit + <$20 for the cartos and driptips. Add in some small bottles of a variety of juices, and you're all set for lots of experimentation

Damn just saw that those are sold out and Liberty-Flights is sold out as well.
So as I understand it so far, it is a 3 piece setup (battery, atomizer, cartridge).
Where as a 3 piece system is the battery and cartomizer ?
If I went with refillable, I take it there are additional items needed ? like a syringe at least ?
What I am unclear about is the dripping. I imagine it means dripping juice into the e-cig as you vape. Which would make sense that it's not for driving. For driving one could use the carts? correct ? or a usb passthru ?

Just a quick word...
I've heard lots of good things about the go-go. But, if I'm not mistaken, it's proprietary. Buy a gogo and you're stuck with using gogo carto's, atty's, etc.
510/ego/riva isn't proprietary, so there's tons of options, and competition to come out with better/cheaper gear for it. Just my
