I would suggest you start with a regulated mod. Do you direct lung or mouth to lung?

If you are a new vaper I would probably suggest a regulated mod (they have built in safety protections) and a drop in tank.

You should probably say a bit about the type of vape you want however, in order to get better suggestions.

Mech mods are a lot simpler in construction and a lot more complicated in actual use. Plus they can be dangerous if misused. I personally would avoid them if you are not experienced with vaping.
