Ok, my 510 PCC just arrived. I have the 510 manual however, I am having the darnedest time trying to connect the batt to the PCC. There seems to be a wide space which is the only way to place the manual battery however there seems to be some serious spring action and the battery does not connect to the terminal. I have tried turning the battery slightly once inserted but there doesn't seem to be a built in slot for this batt to turn (manual switch).

What am I doing wrong?

If I'm understanding you, the battery doesn't screw in like with other chargers. It just presses down. If you press down on it, does the light come on? What about when you shut the lid? I just had a problem with not thinking mine was charging, but apparently the battery was already charged, so that was why the light wouldn't stay on when I shut the lid. Make sure you're putting a dead battery in there.

Thanks Bear

I figured out the problem. It seems that the unit I have is not properly seated so that when you close the lid it does not push the battery down far enough to charge. Battery is dead enuff if I press down slightly, it blinks and reads charging but the minute I let up, and close the lid, it stops. Later in this thread I finally found a mod that would work but am emailing the seller. Not sure why none of my earlier searches pulled this post up about the mod and the felt.

LOL ... logically, to me at least, it seemed that there would be some sort of catch to hold the batt down but reading further I found this was a common problem

Yeah, it's so odd. I thought mine was like that, too, and would need something stuck in the lid to press it down, but then when I tried it the next morning it was perfect without any mod whatsoever. Mine has been working perfectly ever since then. Maybe yours will change its mind also. :)

I had the same prob with both my first gen PCC and the second that was supposed to address the issue.

As I now have only manual bats direct from Janty, I've come to realize that there are two different lengths that I received, and on the shortest of them the button sticks out further.

I'll just slot the darned thing myself, and have a removable sponge to press the battery down enough to charge when using the shorter ones.

Greg

I think you are right chevy. I slowly placed pressure on the batt until the light indicated contact and it was well below the surface that would ever contact the lid:(. I use the Joye 510, guess maybe my next batts should be Jantys..... lol roll a piece of cotton and placed it in the lid, at least I am charging.

Thanks

Try cleaning your threads.

Seriously! Get a q-tip, wet it, and stick it in the battery and rotate it.

Then see if your battery charges.

I found this fixed my pcc issues far far better then trying to push them in more. The PCC needs cleaner threads since it doesn't fit as tight as the screw in chargers.

BTW, only clean the auto batts if they are fully expended or you'll get current through the wet q-tip, which might be ah.... bad.

Thanks grey... brand new PCC, brand new battery shipped from same seller. Old batts are clean as well as atty threads daily. I wipe them with a cotton ball or use alcohol if they look 'dingy'. It just doesn't make contact. The battery top is barely at the hinges in the pcc when inserted so doesn't get enough pressure.

Well I ordered a PCC. Battery and two back up attys. Just got around to testing the second atty and it is DOA:(. I heard this guy was a good vendor so I will just see how to replace the atty since I have figured out how to get the PCC to charge.

Nothing will stop me from vaping (or shall I say force me to start smoking again).

I also have the same problem, I have been folding up a business card and jamming it into the lid for it to work. This is very disappointing though. I spent $45 on one, you would think the would be made to work properly with all 510 batteries. Does anyone know if it is worth sending back to the supplier in exchange for one that works? Or are the all manufactured the same way?

Read above Mikie.... Spradling gave an excellent idea. Simply stick one of the rubber cart ends on your led... have to put about half on and WALA!!! It works... I was sticking a piece of cotton in but was making the lid look off center at times. You can adjust this til its perfect.

I have a question about my PCC.

I got it a week ago and plugged it into my computer and it has been there ever since. I just haven't had a reason to take it with me but I have been switching out the batteries when I need a new one.
This is for a 510. There are 3 lights on the front. The bottom one should be green showing me that the PCC is charged right? Then when you put a battery in, the top light should be red until it is charged and then turn green, Right?

Last night with the PCC still plugged into the computer, the bottom liht was red showing me that the PCC was not charged. This morning it was green so I thought all is well. But, it seems to be randomly going from green to red even though I haven't unplugged it and when I put a battery in the top light might flash red for a minute but doesn't stay lit and doesn't turn green.

Am I doing something wrong or do I have a bad PCC?

On my PCC the top light is red when battery is charging, it simply goes out when fully charged. The bottom light is red if the PCC isn't fully charged but plugged in, it DOES turn green when the PCC is fully charged. There is a light between these two which turns red when the PCC has a batt but not enuff charge to charge the batt. Hope this helps.
