Hi. I'm Amber and new to threads and forums. I have been searching different calculators to find out how to add my 100mg/ml nicotine to juice I already bought. It is 6mg and I want something like 15mg. it's not enough for me to know just the answer; I need to be able to calculate this myself and I'm hoping there is a calculator out there for it. I found one about a year ago but I'm having a major brain fart . If anybody can help you guys can . Plus I like to read up and learn new things . Thank you

Welcome to ECF, and good for you for wanting to know how to calculate it yourself. I have several juice calculators I like, just start playing around with one and see how you do. I find it easiest to start with my target nic/amount and work backwards. If you make a mistake, the calculator will notify you that it's not a viable mix.

And welcome :)

If you really want to do it yourself, here's a formula:

initial volume = the amount of 6 mg/ml juice you start with
initial concentration = the nicotine concentration of your starting juice (6 mg/ml, in this case)
target concentration = the concentration you want in the end (15 mg/ml, in your example)
nicotine concentration = the concentration of the nicotine you're adding (100 mg/ml, in your example)

Amount of nicotine to add

= [initial volume x (target concentration - initial concentration)] / [nicotine concentration - target concentration]

For your example, this would be:
= [initial volume x (15 mg/ml - 6 mg/ml)] / [100 mg/ml - 15 mg/ml]

= [initial volume x 9 mg/ml] / 85 mg/ml

Nicotine strength is calculated as mg's per ml. Your current juice has 6 mg's per every ml and your base has 100 mg's per ml. To increase your 6mg to 15mg you need to add 9 mg's per ml. so for each 10ml that's 90mg's. By adding 1ml of your base 100mg to each 10ml you increase your total nicotine to 160mg's and total amount to 11ml giving you a 160/11=14.55 mg per ml as @bacc.vap pointed out earlier.

Welcome, Amber.
Of course, if you add nic, the flavoring will be weaker. You don't say what flavor the juice is, but you do mention it's a store-bought juice, rather than something you made. I had the same situation when I first started out, and I use tobacco juices. Normally, I use about 14 mg. now. I had some 6 mg tobacco flavored juice that I wanted to add to, so I just bought a cheap 24mg juice so I could top off the tank and add nic without having it taste too weak. Wasn't bad, and not exact science, but it kept me from throwing away the juice.
Just a thought for a simple solution.

The juices I normally are Titan bootlegger, Mount Baker vapor caramel candy, and Cosmic Fog milk and honey . I usually add a little bit of all three into a 30 mL bottle so it's kind of a little bit of everything but it's the cosmic fog that is the 6mg. I've actually done it before but like I said it I'm having a brain fart or something and can't remember how . I pretty much understand the formula I just want a calculator that can do it for me . I actually used to make my own juice but I was no master LOL
