Hi,
I have been using cigarette for more than 5 years, recently I tried with a e-cig and it was good, but not the same at all, Point is, my grandmother have been using cigarette for more than 40 years(before I born) and of course now she's always sick, but she can't just leave smoking, so I want some one who could give me some tips, that I can use to drive my grandma to change from traditional cigarette to e-cigarette .

Welcome to ECF!

Stick around here and read as many of the posts in this part of the forum as you can. Lots of "I stared with" posts as well as advice from more advanced members.

Most people recommend buying an Ego style battery preferably variable voltage or an innokin iTaste MVP 2 which has variable voltage and variable wattage. I know that makes no sense to you now but it will when you learn more.

Although your thoughts are very kind, e-smokes are not for everyone. They take a lot of maintenance. Unless you are planning to go over almost daily to fill it, wash it, change burners, charge batteries and the other jobs involved she will most likely just lose interest in it. But what the heck I am in my fifties and took to it like a fish to water and I don't know how old your Grandma is. Please don't say she is my age and make me feel old. LOL

get her something good with a great flavor, like apple pie.... like Casey Jones Mainline reserve... or Killer juice.... they have some nice flavors. J vapes also has nice tobacco I find.

As for Hardware. Recommend the MVP 2.0 or the Halo Triton, Triton is probably better, as no fiddling with voltage and wattage.

Welcome to ECF Martha!

It's very commendable the effort you're making in trying to help your grandma! In my very limited experience it takes a lot of work, smoking is a hard to break habit, but not impossible! I never believed that my husband was going to like the e-cigarrettes, but after seeing that I was really liking it, and that vaping satisfied my particular need for smoking, he actually started using the e-cigarrettes too; it was amazing because he smoked a pack a day for more than 25 years! Some of the immediate benefits are the absence of the smell on your clothes, and no ash residue in my car! Awesome! :D

So sick around the site, there's lots of very knowledgeable people here that can be of great help. Are you currently vaping? Maybe let her see you vaping and loving it! Best of luck!

Hi and welcome to the forum!

You may want to give your grandma a little credit. I also smoked for 40 years and vaping has become my hobby. Wrapping coils is more fun than crocheting. :)

This kit is "old school" (as in a couple of years old), but it's easy to use. It's what I used to quit, long before the Twist was released or I found ECF. Also, because it's an Ego, when I wanted to try other juice devices (like clearos and carto tanks) they fit just fine. Lol! I just noticed that the video review at the bottom is the same one I watched that convinced me to buy the kit.

As you say, ecigs are nothing like smokes, and as wheelie says they are high maintenance. Really, I'm surprised so many people have got away from smoking with their help, and I'm not too optimistic your grandma will become a vaper just because you want her to. You may have to just respect her right to make her own choices, because old doesn't mean stupid.

If your grandmother is willing to give it a try, I strongly recommend K.I.S.S.
Go with her to a B&M and sample some juice. If there is one she feels will work for her, get a simple ego battery set and simple clearomizers.

Fill juice, connect battery, vape. Repeat

Not because of her age, but because after smoking for 29 years that is what it took for me. I didn't care about fancy gear, didn't worry about cleaning coils. I wanted my habit. Over 2.5 packs a day, I didn't want something to fiddle with.
Grab cig, light, inhale. Repeat

Try to start off that simple.
