Thanks for all your help and advice everyone. I think I'm set. I ordered my nicotine from rts vapes, another provari so I have two, and still have my TW curve for whatever, i have four tanks and enough coils to last about two years.

I decided against building my own because messing with electricity makes me nervous. And if one is not comfortable handling something one should stay away from it or find someone to teach you properly. That's I always told people whom I taught how to use a firearm. So I'm taking my own advice.

I'm sure I'll be seeing you.
Wrapping a coil is not that bad.

Wrap a coil and trap the leads under tge screw heads cut the leads closely wutg fingernail clippers or a side cutter.

Put tge barrel over The coil and Pulse the coil to see if it has a short ( touching the barrel NO short remove the barrel around the coil. Install tge wick and trim the tails so the tails rest in tge shelf on either side of the coil. Wet tge wick with juice install the barrel and chimney. Fill the tank with Juice and you're off to the races.

Steam engine will cakculate ohms for yoy and tell yoy how many wraps you need at a specific gauge to build a 1.2-or 1.5 ohm coil.

It really is much easier than you think, abd safe on a regulated mod. It will not blow up like a mech mod.

So, for use now I just ordered a few boxes of the ready-made OCC coils. I'm sure those will work fine for me, since the STM aren't the only tanks I have or use. …So...maybe give those a try if you think you want to get an RBA or something, while they're still readily available and the premade, wrapped coils are, too. :)
That's a good idea about the premade coils. That way if and when I need to do it I can learn. I wouldn't mind doing the cotton if the wiring was done for me. So I guess I'm back to shopping.

You mentioned you're in Florida. Me too. :)

Exactly my thinking when I decided to order the 2 boxes of 100 premade ones. Doing the cotton only for a good while...I won't mind doing that at all. :)

Yep, I'm in FL...central part, about 20mi. south of I-4, and about equal distance between Tampa & Orlando. We've got quite a few Floridians on the boards, and we gladly welcome more all the time! So...Happy to have you here!

OP, you can get an inexpensive volt-ohm reader specifically designed for vapers here:

Small Digital Volt Ohm EGO 510 808D Coil Meter/Micro Portable Pocket Pro Design Multimeter Low Resistance Reader/Red LED Panel Ohmmeter & Voltmeter Resistivity Multiple Tester Wireless Build-in Coil Connector DC 0-12V 0-20Ω - - Amazon.com

I have no experience with it, but the reviews look very good. (I use an ancient, 50-year-old VOM I bought in high school. Still works fine, though that purpose-designed one looks tempting.)

Somewhere out there
Thanks, David!

I make jewelry as a hobby, and for others sometimes, so I'm used to working with very small bits & pieces, a variety of wires, etc. And I do already have several good-grade ohm meters stashed for testing resistances.

I just prefer to not do some things...until I have no choice but to learn how. I've always been that way, and at my age, it's hard to change now.

Depending on what it is though and my motivation, I'm more inclined to give it a try quicker. Learning to use most construction power tools was a quick learn...because I wanted to build my own 24 x 24 storage building myself, and I was a 57 yr. old female at that time! Started collecting vintage Hondas 2 years after that...and that led to learning how to clean carbs and replace worn parts, etc., etc. on them.

It's just that building coils from scratch, when premade ones are available for cheap...well, my mind can't "wrap" itself around that quite yet! :D (Sorry for the pun.)
I bought pre made coils too to get my feet wet :) Once I get the hang of it I am sure wrapping coils is no biggy, but until that time I am happy to try the pre built ones.

The premade ones in any ohm you wish ARE dirt cheap. I ordered gobs of them
tonite myself. ACK. I haven't learned to build coils yet, but slowly gathering
everything I need and just from looking at this and that I can see it's pretty simple.
Just don't have much time this summer. It's on my 'winter' list to learn though.

3. Go old school Kayfun lite plus and the options are abundant.
Get a Kayfun lite plus and a few spare bases and yoy can vape MTL with the lite plus base, or direct lung it with the Monster Mini V3.
Some times old tech is hard to beat. Not to mention cheaper.

Being a life-long do-it-yourselfer this tank appeals to me and I found it on fastech here $26.58 Kayfun Lite Plus V2 Styled Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5ml) - 1:1 clone / stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping but there is also a drop-down menu. Are those things listed in it spare parts or what. I cant tell from the descriptions and photos - please bear with me because the RBA and its lingo is all new to me. What do I order?

...I also ordered some premade coils (the wire's already wrapped with the right gauge wire & # of wraps, for my 1.5 and 1.8ohm vaping).

Thanks for the suggestion. I can do that so I ordered some and cotton.

The referenced one seems to come with the parts to be able to use it as either a full size or as a shorter tank. Many of us use the clear poly section in the middle, setting the middle stainless one aside - so we can see the juice level.

But as I view the page, it says both "Discontinued" and "get an alert when it's back."

The drop down menu presents other options of similar tanks, as does the "Available Models and Parts" further down the page.

Maybe this?
$18.82 Kayfun Lite Plus V2 Styled Rebuildable Tank Atomizer (4.5ml) - stainless steel / w/ nano chamber & chimney at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Although if you can find the EHPro Kayfun Lite+ V2, it would be a better option - dual air intakes, and EHPro makes really nice hardware.

I know premade coils are easy.

Some premade coils have too little cotton which causes Dry hits and burned wicks.

Others the wick is too loose and yoy get pops spits and leaking.

Rebuilding coils you have TOTAL Control of your vape experience. Build coils to the best resistance where the Juice provides better flavor. And consistency in your wicks.

I didn't want to wrap coils either but my local smoke shop had problems getting coil heads abd i refuses to go back to cigarettes.

I found Rip Trippers video showing how to rebuild my OCC heads. I started rebuilding and never went back to premade coils.

If Someone offered me the best Tank and a lifetime supply of coil heads. I would still rebuild my RTAs.

I'm looking for two things.

1. The best flavor i can get.
2. Consistency.

I'll add

3. Long term supportability.

While shipments from overseas may or may not make it through Customs, I'd rather not take that chance. Spools of kanthal will be available here.

Could you install the coils if Someone wrapped them for you?

Now wrapping coils us something i am good at. Buf i am 2000 miles away and can't install them for you.

Another idea why not go to a vape shop and ask them to teach you how to wrap and install coils.

If the deeming regulations are not stopped you wont be able to buy coils in 2 3/4 years or less.

It would be better to know how before you have to wrap your own coils before you have to.

Tge reason if you are still frughtened you may just go back to cigarettes because its easier to light a cancer stick.

Yep, even if you just build a couple to be sure you can. It IS easy to build simple coils. Mounting them is pretty straight forward as well, especially in something like a Kayfun. Wicking takes a little practice to get down, but also pretty easy.

Many vids on all the steps, lots of us here to pump for info and help.

But you don't want to be "forced" to learn it all when your last blister pack just died and you're jonesing for a vape!!

Its NO big deal.

If you are careful with tge coil a coil can last 2 1/2-3 months. You only need to do it 4-5 times a year, then once or Twice a week remove the wick Dry burn the coil and install another wick.

It only takes me 5-6 minutes a week to remove the wick Dry burn the Coil and install a new week.

That was exactly my point.

When one has to wrap a coil for the first time when the last coil has gone to coil heaven.

a. You are nervous about tge current
b. You are under stress because it is fireign.
c. The nicotine craving us coming on Fierce.

At times like this they just quit and go back to the cancer sticks

I agree. EH Pro makes good attys. However will it have a good MTL experience for people who prefer vaping Mouth To Lung?

Yep, hard core tootler here, and pretty much all my toppers are KFs, most are the EHPro V2Lite +. Great mtl tank. If a vaper is more inclined to DL, not a good choice :)
