I meant never water by itself (and if you add a small amount to your juice, use distilled water)
There are many many choices of devices. I have a variety (I'm low budget so always looking for clearance deals) I started out doing just MTL, but discovered I love restricted DL more (even have a full blown cloud chucker tank... only because it came with the mod I wanted (my only dual 18650 200 watt mod but I never use it above 60 watts) Currently have fallen in love with the Innokin Kroma Z (got lucky and won that in a contest) It uses the very popular Z coils (there are many to choose from) I also have RTAs that I rebuild but now I'm getting really off topic.
When you mixed your DIY juice, did you shake it really good? I shake it, let it sit, shake it again several times and then wait a day or two to use it. I'm just asking so many questions because (like others) it sounds like you are doing things right but we must be missing something.
Does your pod ever "gurgle"? That would cause you to get juice in your mouth (not just vapor) and that will taste very bitter. Is the vapor really hot? You mentioned it's like the juice is getting too hot. That would mean too much power (watts) but your device can't really do that. Did you re-check the airflow adjustment? Remove the pod to do that. I'm really no expert (and don't mean to sound like one)... just throwing out everything I can think of.

Update ... I was on vacation for a few days in Sonoma ... and I picked up this stuff:

... which is pre-mixed flavorless 50:50, and had zero issues. Still on the same coil, 5 refills later, no brown, no burnt taste. Same 'soak' time before vape, etc.

I sent an email to Perfect Vape, will see what they say.

I really don't understand what the hell is going on.

between here and there
Does the vg you bought taste sweet by itself? Is it thicker than the pg? And by the pics you posted everything says USP which is food grade so that is good. hmmm Just wondering if someone goofed up when filling your order and maybe gave you pg in the wrong bottle?

:)

Well, that Solace is regular nic, not salt nic, as far as I can see. I think that's the difference.

I usually use freebase nic, but got a small bottle of salt nic from River Supply in my last order. While I was sampling it I was having to change my coils frequently because it was tasting bad in a short time. At first I assumed it was because I had neglected to wash my hands when rebuilding the coils, which I do several at a time, and so greasy wicks were the problem. But after trying coils I was certain were clean and still experiencing the problem, it dawned on me that it was probably the salt nic that was the cause, so I switched back to freebase and the coils lasted for the usual amount of time afterwards.

I've also sampled salt nic from Liquid Barn and didn't notice any problem with it, but I may not have sampled it for as long a period.

There are different acids that may be used to make salt nic, so I suspect that's one thing that could make a difference with different brands.

I use salt nic but have only purchased from Nude Nicotine and Liquid Nicotine Wholesalers, never had any issues with either one but your right, could be the manufacturer.
