I didn't know you could use the advanced flag on smp for a quad core. I'm not running my smp anymore anyway.

Yellow, be sure you get a passkey. After 10 wu's you will start getting bonus points. You'll also want to add the passkey to your gpu slot under where you set client type advanced. Just click the add button again where you added the advanced flag, where it says name, put passkey. Where it says value, add your passkey number.

yeah, i ended my passkey at the very beginning right after the installation where it asked for the group number :)

update: and i just added it under the GPU and CPU slots :)

If your not running sli then I would think it shouldn't matter if they match or not - I don't know about possible driver conflicts though. And you just have to make sure too that your mb has the proper slot. Anything less than a 650ti prolly wouldn't be worth it. I got my 650ti for like $110 I think. Wish I could have gotten a little bit better one but there was just too much of a price jump to the next card up...

Yellow you should only have 2 slots - one that says GPU and one that says SMP (followed by the number of cores you have)

i dont see SMP anywhere. I removed the other 3 CPU prior to the screen shot

hrm. why so many in queue? still learning how this works, but mine only runs one on my gpu and one on my cpu at a time. It doesn't queue up one per core on my cpu? (yes, that was a questatement)

i created 3 additional slots and then removed them because there should be only 1 GPU and 1 CPU, so the removed slots are now in queue for some reason. i can't remove them. haha

Ok for one thing, yellow.... make sure the flag setting is ADVANCED, not ADVANCE.

Next thing you have to do is stop the client, delete the work unit folders, and start it up again. Then it'll download fresh with the new settings and just be folding 2 actual slots.

OH His CPU slot should say SMP NOT CPU go to the slots tab and delete the CPU slot. Then ADD a new slot and in the properties box that pops up click the radio button next to SMP and make sure the setting under CPUs is -1 then you can add the "client-type" 'advanced' in the extra slot options at the bottom. I think that should fix it up ;)
