I have 2 computers folding. 1 is fine but the other starts ok then the time to completion gets longer and longer. Reboot starts ok then gets slower and slower.I am wasting power and time. Stand alone don't use for anything else.
Windows 7 64 bit pro
ASRock 775i945GZ motherboard.
Pentium D 2.8 ghz
2GB memory
I have shut all power saving off and set for performance.
Thanks for any help.

If its an older window install that you used to use then there are prolly other things trying to run in the background that start slowing it down. If it is going to be a dedicated folding pc then it might help to wipe the os and do a fresh clean install and then install nothing else but the folding software. I have some older computers that use to be for everyday use and I keep finding something in the background processes that wants 50~75 of the processor on a regular bases but cant seem to get rid of it and don't want to dump the os as there is still too much in there that I use on a regular basis - but it slows the folding down to a crawl until whatever it is lets go (whatever it is is hiding in the windows system stuff when I check task manager i have several svchost process that are crunching pretty hard)....

As a last resort you can start killing processes in task manager that are using cpu. Just be warned that killing the wrong ones could make the pc unstable or otherwise nonfunctional for anything but folding until it is rebooted. I have killed several of the svchost processes in the past that were taking all the processor time and it caused some problems like the control panel wouldn't open and the mmc console became non functional along with some other weird things. But as long as you don't need to do any other work on it then you might get away with it. Just remember too that they they will come back with a reboot and prolly want to crunch for a while. Oh another one that eats up cpu time is the search indexer one...

The main power saving you want to look at is making sure that your computer doesn't go into sleep or hibernate mode. Also don't use a screen saver, but you can allow the monitor to sleep at whatever interval you wish.

Glad to have you aboard :)

Still having some heat build up issues (not computer overheating, just my room) so I've been quite sporadic

I haven't seen that one before. The simplest fix would prolly be deleting the work folder and if that doesn't fix it do a full uninstall make sure all the folders and stuff have been deleted then reboot and reinstall. Something prolly got corrupted somewhere. Aside from researching and trying to find out what happened this would prolly be the quickest way to get rid of the problem and get back to folding provided that it was working fine before this and you don't have some kind of hardware problem ;)
