Soooooooo I'm officially out. Router started acting up, dropping connections etc... So flashed it and it bricked. Never have I bricked anything from an oem flash... First time for everything and I'm too poor to replace. Was a good run though. Probably be back in a month when I can finally save up enough pennies to replace it.

That bites. But i would think with what you got you should be able to work around it. Just 2 computers right? And doesnt the quad rig have dual nic? Idk with linux but with windows you ought to be able to daisy chain them and share the net connection. ;)

My hatred for cluttered wires = modem in basement and everything run off wireless.

I see. Well if you have 2 pc with wireless you can do the same thing - one pc in basement connected to the modem with a cable and shared with the wireless adapter. Pc upstairs with wireless shared to wire run to other (quad) pc. I currently have my smaller lan downstairs connected to my upstairs main lan in a very similar way... hth :)

Oh I'm aware, but I have no other pc's right now. I'll figure it out tomorrow or the day after. Today has been utter hell.

Thanks sash. So my 9100 has 2 cpu's but a little slower processor and less memory than my 4600. I wonder how expensive it would be to upgrade the processor. It probably wouldn't cost that much for a memory upgrade. Still no blue screen so an upgrade of the 4600 may be in the future. :)

tm Even though the clock speed might be a bit slower the fact that the 9100 has either a dual core processor or has hyperthreading (neither of which really means 2 cpu - kinda like this - dual core can think about 2 things at the same time instead of just one and hyperthreading is a way to do that with only one core) means that it should outperform the 4600. The memory is really only a factor if you find that you are using it all. I no longer recall exactly how to monitor those things on xp (vista and 7 have little gadget programs for doing that) but if all you are doing is folding then the 9100 with smp should go faster and get you more points ;)
You could find some benchmark program that you could run on each and driectly compare the results if you wanted to know for sure lol

Ok, so my terminology was incorrect but you know what I meant. ;)

The TPF on the 9100 is half what it is on the 4600. :) I won't be breaking any records with this pc but maybe it will help me from sinking...at least as fast.
