My very good friend is sending me one of his extra Ody's to try out. I've been trying to get into rebuildables and have only tried genesis mods so far, they are not working for me so I have high hopes for the Ody.

But I have a couple of questions maybe you Ody pro's can help me with. I usually vape tanks with 3ohm cartos at 5.2- 5.4 volts. What's the best way to achieve that with the Ody?

Also....what's the best No Resistance and Resistance wire to use. Are there wick options? I don't mind spending a little extra if it's gonna make a difference in the performance.

I typically vape 50 VG/ 50 PG. Just trying to give all the info I can.

Thanks very much.

I'll be using it on my Provari.....Is the wire that COV sells nichrome?

I would suggest 0,15mm or 0,16mm resistance wire at abt 2 Ohms and voltage to taste ( It needs not be that high)

use the stock 2mm wick and double strand it on top (there are a quite a few videos around on howto)

I don't know if they sell nichrome but whatever they have will be fine.

After you get used to making the coils you can start to experiment on your provari with various configurations and voltages.

I watched a few videos and saw a few of the wicks you mention. Where do you guys buy your Resistance wire.....And what's the best NR wire? What other sources do you guys use for the wicks?

A good place is wires.co.uk - specialist in craft wire, knitted craft wire, silver wire, enamelled copper, resistance wires, stainless steel, plated wires and many more!

For NR wire you could use silver wire , nickel wire . Almost anything really

For wick I don't really know ,I only buy from the Greek GG supplier .

i would try ebay, 75ft of a-1 kanthal (32 awg) for resistance - 4 bucks:
Kanthal A-1 32 awg resistance heating wire 75 ft, | eBay

and pure 99.9 silver (30 awg) 40ft non-resistance - 12 bucks:
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

these are the only wires i like, nichrome doesnt seem to stand up as well from my experience but can easily be found on ebay. silver is a little more expensive, if 12 bucks for 40 ft is expensive, but has less toxicity than other wire from what ive read...this is when it comes in contact with juice. i could be wrong tho.

i've found that imeo's wick (sold at cov) is a great tasting and working wick. ive tried a lot of wick out there and this definitely has a really great clean taste. Imeo has stated that its certified and deemed as a safe option:

hope this helps.

That's great....and a big help...But what about nichrome....Where do you guys get that....and what gauge do you use?

I bought mine here:

Nichrome Wire

34 and 36 AWG

And Kanthal A-1 32AWG from eBay (the seller does not has it currently in stock )

All depends of how many ohms do you wanna achieve, for low resistance coils a good choice is 32 AWG, medium resistance 34 AWG and high resistance 36AWG.

The resistance wire at CoV is NiChrome (I think 36 gauge). You can buy it in bulk at a pretty good price from wires.co.uk

I also use 32 gauge kanthal in my Ody, purchased on ebay from seller pmtoolco

For NR wire, I've just used the nickel wire from CoV so far. That's another thing you can get in bulk from the UK if you want larger quantities

As for setup, if you just do 4 or 5 wraps with the stock materials on a doubled wick you'll have a good high resistance coil (I don't even bother metering it when I do this and just run it in a 6v setup). Currently I've got a dual coil at 1.5 ohms running at 6v (though technically only about 5.3 or so under load). Let me go dig up the instructions for that and I'll post it, it's really pretty easy once you've done it a couple times

Dead soft, 30ga silver wire is prob the best no resistance. If you should buy half hard in error, all you need to do to soften it up is to give it a quick annealing by running a cigarette lighter flame through it quickly. Just once and let it cool by itself. If you quench in water you'll make it brittle.

COV wick is the best that I've found. Everything else I've tried makes me cough or tastes dry to me

Congrats on the Ody. Your life just changed. Nothing will taste as good once you master the Odyseus. No sheet

Ok, so here's what I have coming.
2 lengths of COV Wick
COV's NR wire
COV ceramic
34 and 36 Nichrome wire
30ga Silver wire

I have some 32 kanthal

Not to mention my buddy sent some stuff with it to get me started.

Sounds like you're good to go. I am using COV Res Wire and Wick and the Silver NR wire. This thing is vaping like a hero. First day with it, no leaks, third tank in short mode and not a dry hit to be had. Made a 1.6ohm coil, but I'm going to try and get a much lower one.

Best of luck and Vape Groovily.

I am glad str, thanks a lot buddy:)
Well I got the Ody....Used the NR wire that my Buddy sent which came from COV, COV's Wick and 34 nichrome. I set it up at 2.8 and OMG....This thing is awesome. It blows away all those Genesis mods i tried. I think my Pal is gonna have trouble getting this back.
