Just like cell phones cases can be a hit or miss. Some could be for aesthetics and only provide scratch protection where others could help against higher drops. If you drop your device frequently I would avoid cases and look to the “purpose built” durable devices that have been mentioned here.

The Jackaroo has pretty much every mode we’ve seen on mods these days. You have Power mode (watts), Voltage Mode, Watt Curve Mode, Temp Curve Mode, Bypass Mode, and Temp control mode for Ni200, Ti, and SS. No TCR mode, but the TCR is adjustable in each of the preset modes. The only thing I would consider missing is a pre-heat option in power mode, but you can use watt curve mode for that anyway.

@Shawn Hoefer, does your Jackaroo not have these options/modes?

If not may well be worth contacting Vandy Vape and asking what's the latest version firmware.

I forgot about the hidden menus on the VV... sigh... it has those modes, but they're not easy to get to. After looking at it again, I still think the Solo has a slightly better board just because it's easier to operate.

Depends on how one defines good I guess. “Better interface” might be more accurate than “better”, or it might not be. No data.

arrived! this time i think it will break the floor's tile if i drop it...this is my first impression, it's very heavy but this could be beneficial for stability on the desk, the evil chinchilla will have to work harder to make it fall
