I am happy with my grand, I just haven't found my sweet spot yet with the RM2.

I'm Running a micro coil and keep putting less and less cotton in it to try and get the flavor to pop but the it is still severely muted.

For comparison, my Nimbus V2 clone using a similar set of coils, the same juice and more cotton than I currently have in my RM2 has very pronounced flavor. In the RM2 I can't even tell that it is cinnamon red hots, it almost tastes like non flavored juice.

HELP a brutha out, what can I do to improve flavor in the RM2?

Is your coil ID at 1.5-1.6mm? Is your coil pushed up so air can get under it?

If anything, in the RM2, I get too much flavor (too much sweetness sometimes, anyway).

What size is your air hole? You like 1Ω builds, right?

A few people who had flavor issues, found it a'plenty when they got around to trying 26g Nichrome and ~ a .6Ω build.

Yeah, so, I get better flavor out of a tighter coil ID. (1/16" . .. . . even a 16gauge needle, apparently, is bigger than that)

Also, with micro, whatever gauge wire I'm using, I like 8/9 wraps for flavor, and still a great heat-up time.

If the air could get under your coil more, you'd get more sharp, treble notes and a bit more TH. Air flow hitting your coil dead on or more over the top will give a smoother vape; but more muted flavor.

here's a typical coil height for me

and this coil gives me the best flavor I've had yet, from the RM2. The top section gives me plenty of high notes and some TH, and the bottom section is typical vertical coil, very balanced and mellow

That's a single coil. I just bent it after I wrapped it.

It that cotton? These old eyes want to make it out as ekowool. Yah my coil was right on the deck, I'm incrementally moving it up to experiment.

I also have a Nimbus and was using dual coil w/ Silica. It definitely had a different flavor profile vs my RM2 when I first got it.

Initially....(don't tell anyone)....I felt the flavor was not as good on the RM2. I had to keep experimenting w/ coil's/builds wicks till I found a sweet spot.

I do know the air chamber on the RM2 is much smaller vs the Nimbus/Chimbus I also have mine drilled out w/ 2 air holes....it took me some tinkering but got it where I love it now. My trident on the other hand as cool but flavor was not as good as nimbus....good for making pinoy style cloud shows but as far as actual vape taste quality goes.....meh.....

Personal tastes will vary.
