Well that's a relief. The only thing is that if you ever got bleach on your hands you'll notice it doesn't wash off very well. I don't really know why, but it's almost like it's not very water soluble even though we all know it obviously is because it's in our water supply. Does it taste funny after you do that?
Well as I haven't tried it without boiling I can't say what it would taste like before hand, but it gives me much better flavor and wicking than any premade wick I have used.
as I use 4 strands together I will cut a length from the skein, fold it in half then half again, let it twist around each other like it wants to do anyways, then put in a pot of water boil for 15 minutes, hang to dry.
Once dry I roll it up like I would any rope or cordage then stick it in a small bag I have to keep it clean.
I keep the bag and the wire together, with a paper clip, so I know I always have them where I can find them.

Why not just boil the whole skein instead of doing all of these individual boilings? It's the green thing to do. Stock pot for the win.
Nah, I'm trying to quit. You can't just pop the thing in a stock pot and untangle later?
