Could someone ballpark the "startup" cost for us to start DIY? and also a rough monthly cost..

Between the 2 of us we go through....4-5? ( hmm....i've never really paid attention) 30ml a month @ $15 per 30 ml
she is just the type of person that won't take my word for it, because "it's something you want to do, so of course your gonna say it's alot cheaper" etc.. lol

So any info would be appreciated

Here & There
Alot of things factor in to final price as variables like what strength nicotine you use and buy and what vendor you do go with and amount of flavors used (nic prices vary) but the general gist of the matter is 15 dollars for 30 ml from someone else and anywhere from $1-5 for a 30 ml bottle if you make it yourself. If you buy the starter equipment to last 90 days and compare that total to 90 days of the price of buying someone else's juice in the same time period I am sure your girlfriend will be very pleased.

I recommend Wizard Labs for fair price and great product in the nicotine department.

I don't know how you're going to persuade your GF.

Mine initially frowned upon me when I told her I was going to DIY and wanted to buy a mini-lab setup. I bought some additional fruity and chocolate flavorings which I would have never bought pre-mixed. (A bottle of 8ml flavoring at Wizards Lab costs $1.49 IIRC.) I made a bunch of 3ml batches of various flavors for her. She ended up enjoying a few of them and am now glad that I can mix for her.

Tell her I said it's A LOT cheaper, and I tend to be the penny pincher in the family.

For example: I vape approximately 90 mls a month @ 10 mg. I just bought 1000 mls of 60 mg nic base for just under $79.00 which includes shipping. That amount will make me 200 30 ml bottles, or approximately 5 1/2 years of juice. (Yes, I'm stocking up, call it FDA insurance.)

Add to that 1980 mls of PG for that 5.5 years because I vape a 70/30 mix, and round up for ordering amounts = 2000 mls of PG @ $37.96

The same amount of VG, although I actually use a little less, would run the same price; $37.96

I would need 1188 mls of flavoring at 20% which tends to be the highest percentage most people mix at. From the Flavor Apprentice that would equal 10 4 oz bottles @ $13.00 a piece plus a little, so let's round it up to 11 bottles = $143.00

Grand total for 5.5 years, if it's not too far past my bedtime and I didn't mess something up = $297.92 plus shipping for the PG, VG and flavoring, and incidentals such as mixing equipment and storage containers. That would be $4.51 per month, again not including the extra costs mentioned above (and am too lazy to factor in) for 90 mls of juice. Knowing exactly what's in your juice, that you can vape for pennies a day and won't run out until September of 2018? Priceless. ;)

I bought 500 ml of 100mg nic from wizard for $60 shipped. one gallon each of pg/vg for $68 shipped from ecigexpress and many, many different flavors. The base works out to be $0.056 cents per ml at 12% nic. 100 10ml bottles on ebay (local) were $29.00 shipped and 100 30 ml bottles from ebay (china) were $38.00 shipped. Total cost for a 10ml bottle is about $1.00, a 30ml is about $2.00 and I get whatever I feel like at that particular moment. My steeping times range from about 30 seconds to 2 weeks and I have not had anything really evil, (yet). I will admit that I am into sweets and fruits, the way I understand it is that the tobacco's are much more difficult.

I went a tad overboard, but my initial investment cost me $157.80; for 1L of PG, 1L of VG, 215mL of 100mg/mL nic base, 9 syringes (3cc, 5cc, 30cc), empty bottles, and flavorings (menthol crystals and such included in that). I haven't had to buy anything extra but my cost per 30mL bottle of ejuice comes to around $5.21.

DIY is cheaper, but takes some time to master the right mixing for your tastes.
