now if we could get some 200-500mg nic liquid dirt cheap..and some loranns flavor to mix with our dirt cheap OTC pg/humco we'd be set..but unfortunately we cant :(
Look at the post above yours. You can make your own 24mg full-flavored juice just for 21 cents a ml.

Thanks SMC. I added that, and more.

Chart and Excel spreadsheet updated. Refresh if you don't see FlavourArt in the image below.

I added Blip 56, all of FlavourArt's line, and more strengths and sizes from My Freedom Smokes.

If anyone wants more companies added, or prices changed, etc, please let me know.

You can, of course, download the Excel spreadsheet and do it for yourself, but please post here and I'll update this one to keep it consistent.

I did an analysis of the costs of DIY using several different vendors' nic-juices. Using their prices - not including shipping - I computed the costs to make a 30ml bottle at various strengths.

Some conditions:

I did not go to the ends of the earth to find every single vendor at every single strength for every single price. I did not intend to pick on any vendor, or highlight any. I just grabbed a number of vendors that I knew carried flavorless e-juice.

Top (non-bulk) rows assume LorAnn flavoring at 20%, purchased in 1 dram bottles for $1.59 each, and PG purchases in 4oz bottles for $5.

Bulk rows assume LorAnn flavoring at 20%, purchased in 4oz bottles for $14 each, and PG purchased in 1 gallon bottles for $20.

"NA" means that this mixture is not available, since it's not possible to make a final product at this strength using a nic-juice of this strength. That is, by the time flavoring is added to this strength of nic-juice the final product will be a lower strength than desired.

Note that your flavor strength, and desire for some VG for vapor production, can affect whether or not you can make some of these final 30ml bottles. If you use a weak flavor and need to use 50% flavoring, then you're not going to be able to make 24mg final product if you use 36mg nic-juice.

All costs listed do not include shipping!
This is particularly important when comparing the bulk Best Ecig (shipping = $16) vs My Freedom Smokes (shipping = $6).

Including shipping is kinda impossible. For instance, nobody would buy a single 30ml bottle from China and pay $16 to ship a $9 bottle of nic-juice. And you pay the same shipping price for either 1 bottle of nic-juice or 5 bottles. If you buy 10 bottles maybe you get free shipping. Or you might use a discount code... So the prices shown are the base prices - no shipping, no discounts. Adjust the final number accordingly.

The spreadsheet can be found here so you can plug in your numbers if you wish - or check my math/formulas if you wish to do that.

It does affect the flavor and hit. That's why I use Lorann's. I'm working on increasing throat hit in a safe way that doesn't color the flavor too much. If you start with something really potent anyway, you find that cutting it is a good thing... for instance, TW's Menthol. It's crazy strong. Cutting it down brought it down to a 'i can use it without crying' level.

LOLLLLLLLLLL @ USE IT WITHOUT CRYING LEVEL..:lol:

I added another worksheet to this, one that lets you do your own comparisons. I think it's pretty slick, if I do say so myself.

Scottes, thanks so much for this! This was not a small amount of work to put together so well! Very useful for starting to get these crazy vaping finances under control...or watch them go out of control with much more accuracy! Brilliant work!

OK, so now Im lost! I just started this e cig stuff a week ago and already I want to make my own juice, as I dont like what Im vaping right now.

This has been a great thread, spent over an hour reading it!

I think Im gonna go the unflavored nic juice, PG/VG, flavor route.

My questions are, how do you guys get the right mix amount? Syringes, cups??

After you have all your mixture measurements, how the heck do you get them in the dropper bottles? And where do you get the dropper bottles?

I am gonna experiment tomorrow with a 26mg juice I have that I really hate, Im gonna just flavor it up a bit and maybe add some VG cuz I have to mail order PG from what Ive read??

Yea, this seems like a fun way to get flavors that YOU want, not something bought from China that you have no idea about the quality control that went into the product.

Thanks!!

Jim

I use pipettes:
Rachel's Plastic Transfer Pipettes
syringes:
3 cc Syringe Luer-Lok, Syringe only- 1 each
10ml dropper bottles:
Cylinder and Boston Round Bottles with Dropper Caps | U.S. Plastic Corp.
and those 10ml baby medicine dispenser spoons:
Medicine Spoons, Dosing Spoons, Liquid Medicine Dispensers - #1000 Med-T-Spoon (2 tsp - 10ml)
The pipettes work great for controlled drops, (always drip out one ml while counting the drops an record that number. Then drip into the dispensing spoon for mixing and measuring. Always make small batches to test, big batches when you perfect a recipe.
Big batches is where you need to know the number of drops that equal 1 ml so the larger batches taste the same as the smaller batches, helps with consistency.
These are what I use, if you havent played with the calculator yet, the download link is in my sig. Has a lot of information in it besides the calculator.
Hope this helps
Dan

Hey all, I've been looking around but am having a hard time finding a supplier such that the savings are appreciable in my situation. I vape 24mg and, as an example: 4x 30ml 48mg bottle for $60 + 120ml doubler for $15 + $5 shipping = $80 for 240ml 48mg or $0.33/ml. The downside, of course, is I'm committed to 240ml of one flavor in order to use up the doubler. Any way I can beat this price-wise with DIY? A little apprehensive about handling 100mg nic for instance, but if I could produce yummy flavored juice w/ 24mg nic for $0.15/ml for instance, that would be awesome! Sorry if I could have found this info hunting a little more.
