Help me go back to flavor and MTL

Need advice from some experienced members. Been vaping 7 years and got caught up in the watt wars aND clouds for the past 2. I'm sick of it. I'm sick of the juice consumption. I remember when flavor was good and I wasn't chasing the next thing.

I always found it difficult to work with high gauge wire so I'd like to stay within 28g. I have a ton of premed coils of all kinds measuring .3-.6 but I'm wondering how these would work in something like a kayfun. I also have a narda that I immediately wrote off because it got too hot but I'm going to give it another shot.

So is a kayfun v3 the thing? I had 2 original kayfun's from 4 years ago but they accidently got tossed. I want one tank with a good TH and flavor and I will experiment with my squonking at ties for flavor builds. Last night I tried a single clapton and a single 10 wrap 26g on the limitless rdta and was getting hardly any flavor at all! Tried for a few hours and went back to dual clapton and flavor was there. I want to go back to mtl but I'm worried I just won't find the flavor or satisfaction that dual coil claptons are giving me..help, I want it to be simple again! Has anyone reverted back to MTL flavor builds and been successful?

I run mine with either a 26ga SS .35 Ohm Single Wire/Single Coil or a 26ga NiChrome 80 .6 Ohms Single Wire/Single Coil.

Kayfun clones are on sale at GotVape in CA for $2.99 each. It's worth a try at that price. I vape KF 2 and 3.1 and find that flavor is dependent on the wick, coil material, and how tight the wick is in the coil. For best flavor and vapor you want the wick to be tight enough to squeak a little as you twist it into the coil, but not tight enough to make the coil flex from the twisting force. A loose wick will cause loss of flavor and vapor and also allow hot spots where it's not touching the top of the coil after you press the wick ends down onto the deck.

FWIW, the Squape (R)eloaded produces the most flavorful vape I've had in MTL tanks.

The KF2 and 3.0 are here for $2.99 each. The V2 isn't Lite Plus, just Lite. The best v3 version is the 3.1. I can't tell you what the diference is, but for the price it's still a deal for a trial vape.

I have several each Kayfun v2 Lite Plus and V3.1. They are my daily vape. The K4's were nice, but had too many complicated parts. I'm waiting on the K5 clones to hit the USA. They are already in China. The K5 is supposed to be the best and most versatile. Coming from the DTL world you might like the V5 better than those who are used to a tight draw. Busardo explains it all in the video.

What you need is a flavor chaser Atty

The two best flavor chaser RTA i used was the Goblin Mini and silverplay nano

Best flavor CHASING RDA I USED IS the Darang, stumpy, Freakshow Mini

I had an authentic Kayfun Mini V3 hated it. Flavor no better than a standard Kayfun and it leaked.

Other RTAs i have heard good things

Mage, and tge latest bunch of RDTAs but theyball leak if yoy lay them on the side.

i could get an orchid v6 with glass from fasttech... dual coil 28g 2.5mm ID @ 0.8 ohm ... it is like my 2 years old ehpro kayfun lite with doble flavor and tight vape... no fancy and useless jfc or top fill, just fill and vape

I've vaped Kayfun V2 and V3.1 for years with few problems. If they leak, then replacing the o-rings will fix it. I pocket carry frequently and juice expansion from the heat in hot weather will cause dew from the air holes, but that's true with most all rebuildable atomizers, IMO.

i had leak issues from new attys. i couldnt get merlin and Goblin mini v3 to work without a leak on refill, no matter how i wick them... even GM V2 works better than new one v3

OK. Good to know. I like jfc, helps a lot, but if it doesn't work on the Goblin Mini v3 I'll stay away from that atty.

Im a simple MTL guy. I do simple, single coil builds with 28g. I too started with a kayfun 3.1 back in the day as my first rebuildable tank, and transitioned to lite plus, used them for years.

I am now using the mini v3 and i would HIGHLY recommend it. I have both authentic & tobeco clone.
If money isnt a huge deal, and youre investing in your vaping future, i would definitely recommend an authentic. At the same time, the tobeco clone i have is great as well. I can without question tell a difference between the quality of the two, but the tobeco clone is nothing to scoff at, it surpassed my expectations.

Mini v3 is relatively easy to build, only complaint ive ever heard is some folks the deck is too small. Since youve worked with kayfuns in the past i dont think this will be a problem for you though.
Single coil 28g wrapped around a little blue screwdriver works wonders for me. And ive tried ALOT of high end RTA's, even the kayfun 5. Didnt stand up to the MTL experience of the mini v3, even with the MTL reducers in.

Imo, kayfun 5 with mtl reducers is a cop-out for svoemesto. Not saying it wont work for some, but id guess the only reason they chose the 5 over the mini v3 is the juice capacity. If youre using the MTL reducer, you are likely not choosing the 5 over the mini v3 for airflow options. In fact, in my case it simply got in the way and made for more cleaning and leaking than my mini v3s.

If you are a set-it-and-forget-it kinda guy like i am, and have liked kayfuns in the past, pickup a clone for 20ish. If you like it, go for the authentic. I can personally say that i doubt youll be dissapointed.

@DaveP You should love it! I have 6 Tobeco KF V5 from eciggity.com and they are all flawless.I also have SXK and SMJY clones all work perfect.The only tanks i use now.

I've been waiting for the K5 to hit America territory. Hawaii is close enough to count, especially since it doesn't have to go through China processing on my CC and it gets delivered by USPS all the way. I'll have to remember EggCity when I want something new.

The orchids are nice but both the Silverplay Nano and Goblin Mini Bears tge Orchid for flavor

I use only 28 and 30 gauge for mtl single coils….1.2-is ohms

for flavour chasing, i really like the hurricane rta clone and merlin (provided you get one that doesn't seep).

Decent capacity in both as well….only fill them once a day.
