Hi friends, I haven't posted for a long time. I got cancer 2 years ago and that's been a time-consuming mess. So, all this time, I've stuck with my two REO Grands - I still have my original batteries, I make my own juice. I was using Boge LR cartomizers exclusively from the beginning, but sometime in the past two years they became really sub-standard junk. I literally have boxes of them and I might find one in a box that will work for a few days. About 6 mos. ago, I found some cartos that were called Shorty 1.7, and they worked a lot better (even though I remember hating them when I first bought them because they got so hot). I've been buying them wherever I can find them, but now the quality of those seems terrible too.

After sheer frustration today, I filled up something called a FLüXomizer 2014 TC (purchased by my husband) and put it on my REO. Finally, I felt like everything was back to the way it used to be.

So, please tell me if there is anything like this that works with a REO for self-filling. I just emptied my bottle because I squonk without realizing it.

Hi Nic, Sorry to hear about your frustrations. I really can't comment on cartos, I stopped using them a long time ago for the same reason as you. I can tell you that the vast majority of Reonauts are using the Reomizer 2 Rebuildable atomizer or similar on their Reo. They provide a much better vape than any stock carto or atomizer and you can customize the vape to suit your preferences.

Rebuildable atomizers might seem intimidating at first but I assure you they are quite simple to set up after a small learning curve.
Here's a nice tutorial from our very own Super X Drifter Tutorial

If you're not interested in rebuilding I'm sure someone here can point you in the right direction for cartos.

Hi

The inconsistency of carto quality would drive me insane. If you aren't ready to face rebuilding coils you may find some joy in the Ikenvape I06 stock attys at 1.8 ohm. Can't rebuild 'em, but at eight bucks and lasting 3 to 4 weeks in a Reo - I can live with that. It's not a standard size 306 atty (the barrel is a bit larger) so if you decide to try 'em out you need to get a drip tip there made specifically for the I06 attys.

It is good to see you back! Hope your fight against cancer wins on all fronts!

The clearomizer you are using provides a way you to vape without filler providing you clean and tasty vapor.

But you can find a even better solution by going with the RM2. You will be squonking again!

Making a coil once a month is a conservative estimate. You would need to re-wick at more frequent intervals.

It is by far better than any cartos out there. I think that most have moved past the cartomizers because they have found this RBA is really a superior way to vape.

Over time the initial price of a RM2 pays off. Instead of replacing a cartomizer or clearomizer you just build a new coil. Wire is inexpensive and wicking with cotton costs only pennies. The coil and wick are the "heads" of the clearomizer.

Yes, things have changed a lot in the past year alone. And Reonauts have found their nirvana in the RM2!

Where in the twin cities are you?

I have some of the 1.7 shorties you are welcome to. I also would be happy to loan you an RM2 and give you some wire if you want to try and have any reservations. I am pretty sure you will order the same day and you can use mine while it ships.

No other subforum has so many awesome people all in one place!

While I agree with you, the little token I offered doesn't compare to what I have seen here. I just saw we are in the same area and I have something she was looking for that is just sitting around. She battled cancer, and hopefully kicked it's .... All I am doing is trying to get a karma point

Well, even if she doesn't take you up on your offer, I think you get the karma point anyway, just for offering. Nice....very nice.

I am so grateful for all the replies! It looks like I have to order an RM2 today. I am slightly intimidated, but I will figure it out, and I'm sure by the end of the week I will be sick of refilling this plastic dohicky Fluxy thing continually.

I am doing pretty good, my 5-year prognosis is 50% (melanoma). I had a major setback a year ago with something called primary lymphedema tarda - the lymph nodes for my legs quit working, it was a birth defect that finally caught up with me. No easy fix for that, I have to keep exercising continually to retain the use of my legs.

Going to reply to thinkingaboutit and then order the RM2 and then watch videos. Thank you! Thank you!

Gosh - thank you! I am in Woodbury. This is so kind of you! I still have some of those shorties, they were out of stock everywhere, but a store in Grand Forks has them in stock, so I've been ordering from them. I am happy with this other thing right now and I will order the RM2 today. I so appreciate your offer though!!

Hi Nic, welcome back! I also use RM2's on all of my REO's, and the RM2 was what I learned on.

If making your own coils seems a bit intimidating, you CAN buy them online - but they're really a breeze to make after a try or two.

Here's one place: Rebuildable Atomizer Coils - Avid Vaper

Thanks for this - I started watching the video and I'm just not ready to jump into all that yet. I ordered 2.0, does this mean I don't have to use the multi-meter thing? I haven't had that out since I was testing my batteries after every charge (a LONG time ago).
