Getting ready to put my order in to FT and am going to add a kayfun, my first rebuildable. I've been watching quiet a few you tubes of people rebuilding them but need to know which is the best model to buy, money is not issue so I'm looking for the best one. There is so many different models in now need experience to choose.

On a similar subject, is there page dedicated to rebuilding them. 1 that will explain the differences and benefits of wick types and will also explain the different types of coils and their benefits you can fit to the kayfun. I seen you tubes that build then tight on a drill bit and other that wrap the wire round a cord style wick I've even seen 1 guy make a double coil fit it. So I'm looking to find somewhere that explain the best and worst of rebuilding.
Don't worry, I will have a meter to test everything I make and fingers are pretty nimble so building will be no problems.

You won't go wrong with any Kayfun....I have versions 3.1-v2 and have had really good success with them. The 3.1 gives me the least problems as the Kayfun lite's can and will leak if you don't get them just right. If you do get them right (which isn't hard) they are great vapes. There are many people who have had no problems that's how easy it is to build.

I would get the eh pro kayfun lite v2 clone to get your feet wet with. It is a fantastic product, especially for being a clone.

Edit: the eh pro clone performs as well as an authentic IMO. I would rather spend $30 to find out I don't like a product than $120 to find out I don't like it... If you like the clone buy the authentic.

If you really just don't care about money, get an authentic kayfun lite.

Wicking is all preference. I like Rayon the most. It wicks super well, and last so much longer than cotton.

The coil is going to be all preference as well. My favorite build is a simple micro coil 28 gauge 1.2 -1.4 ohms wrapped around 5/64th drill bit or 3/32nd wicked with rayon.

I have an authentic Lite + v2 and I love it. I've heard rave reviews about all of the clones...and I've heard terrible reviews for every one of the clones. I have nothing to back this up, but I figured it was probably due to poor quality control from the clone manufacturers. Some will turn out great, others will be terrible. I decided to purchase the authentic simply because it would piss me off more to spend $30 on a poorly manufactured one than $100 on a quality device only to find out that I didn't like it. At least then it would be entirely on me if that happened. Never used the 3.1, so I can't comment on that.
As for wicking, I've used Japanese Organic Cotton, regular cotton balls, and pharmaceutical cotton. I've never noticed much of a difference. I am exclusively using the Japanese Organic Cotton now, but that is primarily because that is what I have on hand...and it MAY be a touch better for flavor and wicking.
Coils...I've only used 2 so far... 28 gauge Kanthal around a 5/64 drill bit at 1.6 ohms, and now I have a triple strand 32 gauge twisted coil wrapped around the same 5/64 drill bit, coming in at 1.7 ohms. Again, I don't notice much of a difference, but I think maybe the 28 gauge coil was a bit better for flavor, vapor. My next one will be 28 gauge at 1.3 ohms.

Another +1 on the Kayfun Lite Plus V2

I have that and the Kayfun 3.1, prefer the Lite Plus V2.

This is the one I have...
$30.02 Kayfun Lite Plus V2 Style Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5ml) - 1:1 clone / stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Choose Registered China Post if you can (from additional shipping options), in my experience it is the speediest free (or nearly free) option. Last 4 orders have only taken 8days from order to being in my hand.

There is a cheaper version of the above (listed on Fasttech), but I cannot verify its quality.

How many versions have there been of the Kayfun?

Firstly, Kayfuns come only in three sizes. (1)The full size, aka Kayfun 3.1ES as currently sold, (2)The small size, ala Kayfun Lite+ v2 as currently sold AND (3)The slim size, aka Kayfun Mini, which has been discontinued since end of 2013.

Secondly, the following is the non-mini versions of Kayfuns ever produced, along with their year of manufacture and location:

~Kayfun V3 -------------- 2012 ------------------- made in Germany ......Discontinued
~Kayfun V3.1ES --------- January 2013 ---------- made in Germany
~Kayfun Lite ------------- May 2013 -------------- made in Germany.......Discontinued
~Kayfun Lite [plus] ----- September 2013 ------- made in Germany.......Discontinued
~Kayfun Lite [plus] v2 -- since February 2014 -- made in Germany

Thirdly, the first true copies of this Svoe Mesto gem was produced by Kebotech China and marketed as The Russian (3.1ES clone) &/or Russian 91% (Ka'fun Lite clone) around mid 2013. They were priced nearly the same as the original SM products. The only tweaks they did was manufacture them in a 'media blasted' finish and for the 91% they added an AFC (making it trump the OEM K'fun Lite). They added the Black R-91 in Feb-2014. Their Russian v2 is just released.

Fourthly, there are many Chinese knockoffs of both the K'funs and the Russians available since early 2013. Tho none of them match the workmanship or materials of the original SM products - yet HCigar's, EHPRO's and Infinite's versions are tad better and very popular.

Now it's your call OP!

Ok so that's the K Lite Plus V2 in the basket.

I'm not gonna sub ohm so what kanthol do I want? I've seen 28 and 32 gauge mentioned but that equates to nothing on FT and it looks like they 3 different types of the stuff.

They don't do, or I can't find, any cotton wool on their site so any suggestions on that.

Ehpro Kayfun lite plus v2 dual air hole (made tiny difference)
Eleaf Lemo (Kayfun variant with better air flow control, and way less of tighter draw, bigger deck to build on, pryex tanks), only negatives..fill port is pita at times and quality of steel isn't the same as the Ehpro Kayfun lite plus v2.

...still haven't even built a build on Kayfun black edition v3 that I finally got on pre-order..since I got Lemo...

Buy your cotton (wool) from a local pharmacy. All you need is 100% natural cotton (organic if you prefer).
