Hi, All!
Haven't posted in quite a while. Happy Holidays.

I've been struggling to Narrow down the choices of RTA's out there. After using the Subtank Mini with the rba for like 2 years, I used the smok Big Baby Beast with the RBA deck for 6 months until it S*** the bed. The press fit positive post comes loose and gives all kind of resistance issues, so I don't want to just replace that RBA section to have the same problem again.

I have it narrowed down to 3. The Serpent SMM, the Solomon RTA, or I was looking at the Ijoy Captain, since it has the slide fill top, which is why I liked the baby beast tank so much, but I heard the Captain was a leaker, and it kinda looks too tall.

What would be the flavor difference between the single coil serpent, and the dual coil Solomon? They look identical on the outside, and I like their low profile stance.

Posted this right before leaving for work. Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. I'll check back tonight after work.

Being mostly a single coil vapor I own the SMM (have three) and like the flavor and vapor it produces. The glass tank is a little thin and I already broke one of them getting it seated on the o-rings. It was user error since I didn't lube the rings prior to putting the tank back together.

Two other real good options (both single coil) are the OBS engine nano and the Geekvape Zeus. Both are single coil, top fill and AF so there is no leaking. The Zeus right now is my daily tank.

I used to be a duel coil person but found that I could get great flavor and vapor out of a single coil and it was less of a hassle to build.

Just a thought but I would avoid anything with a slide top-fill. In the end, the hinge will always wear/loosen and stop sealing properly!

If you like a nice m2l, then the berserker is a fantastic rta, probably my favourite of 2017 for what its worth!

The Captain never leaked on me & it is a flavor machine however wicking is a little tricky

I'd highly recommend the Crius II. It's like the Solomon, but it comes with a very good singlecoil deck, a pre-installed fused clapton coil and a side fillport.
The flavor you can get from this RTA is immense, and if you like to throw in a more massive coil like a staple framed for a warmer vape, that'll be no problem either.
Although it performs quite nice with simple round wire too.
Wicking is very easy and forgiving and so far never leaked on me.

If you're limited by the 3 RTAs you mentioned, I'd go for the Solomon however.

I pulled the trigger on the Geekvape Zeus, after reading up and youtubing them. Thanks for all the suggestions. Just gotta wait for it to come in. So, for now, I'm vaping on prebuilt coils, in the Smok tank
I'm enjoying mine, hope you do too. Zeus has a thread if you need help when it comes in. DJlsb vapes on YT has tips on his review that has served me well.
