Hi everyone.. This is my first post.. I am very overwhelmed. I have a long road trip coming soon so I am looking into getting my first e-cig. Of course there are so many out that I have no clue.. Money right now is an issue, so I can't afford anything super expensive... (over $60). I have seen safecig, smoketip, blu, and a whole lot more... Please help..

You're going to get a ton of answers because everyone has they're favorite PV's. So I'll just tell you what I started with and still use most. SmokeTip. Price may be a little high at 59.99, but service is fantastic and shipping is free. batteries are guaranteed for life. No questions asked. Just send it back and a replacement is on its way. Kristi at SmokeTip will answer your questions through email within an hour. The batteries are kr808d-1's and work well with Vapor4Life cartomizers and all other kr808d-1 accessories from a lot of vendors.

It's a simple two piece no fuss no muss starter kit and got me off analogs the day it arrived.

Welcome and good luck in whatever you choose :)

+1

after burning through so many batteries i started shopping for warranty instead of price. with smoketip you'll never have to pay for another battery again so that's a massive chunk of savings right there. the kit comes with 6 cartridges so that'll probably hold you over on your trip from the get go.

Hi Natalia... I was looking at these because they are a two piece as opposed to the three piece.. I know I don't want to mess with liquids or anything like that, I just want something simple and this one seems to be just that...

Long road trip. Usb passover and a car charger :) 20 bucks. As far as what kit to put to it? a lot of personal preferences but for a sure bet go with 2-3 batteries I like the kr808 its cheaper easy to come by and pretty compatible, but if you want full on wireless smoke all day go with the ego or an equivalent. Just make sure to buy up as much of what ever Cartomizer you like as you can afford if you plan to use carto's, or get plenty of tips and a few atomizers if your going that route. I've fiddled with a few versions and mods, but I use the ol' usb more than anything really, but I'm never far from usb power either so my opinion is probably a little skewed.

Hi DC2, I smoke abt a pack a day. Marl red 100's.. Don't really care abt how it looks or stuff, I just want something that will work and have a good battery..
I will be in a rental car and driving 1200 miles without a cig just isn't an option.
I'll let others do the recommending, but...

You might want to get a model that offers a passthru that plugs into your car lighter.
And if you really wanted something cigarette sized then you might want to think about a PCC as well.

Or you might just want to jump straight into the larger sized models with long lasting batteries.

I think it is best to avoid any and all retail ecigs. You pay for their sticker, mostly. My first pv was the Safe Cig that you mentioned. That is a 4081. I would try and understand the models first and forget the branding.

Regarding the simple 2 piece - any ecig can be a 2 piece - you just use cartomizers instead of the atomizer/cartridge combination.

All I know is I was at a Christmas decorating party this weekend - and let a smoker use my eGO - and he loved it - and we discussed the size as he had seen the ones in 7-11 and he said "this isn't too big, I like it".

The easyest thing to get has to be the kr808D-1..2 piece system. With some ekstra juice on the side, to refill cartos. Lots of vendors sell it, as the Vapor King, Nebula, Creator and so on..
Prob with getting a three piece system, is that you only get 2 attys with it... Theres allways the possibility that something dies.. and with the kr8 you get 5 attys with the kit...thats just one of the advanteges. Performancewise I wouldnt go smaller than that.
I started with small 510, and spent alot of money getting ekstras of everything. Had an atty die after two days!!
Its impossible for someone to say what you will like the most...just try n error.. Answer DC2's q's and you will get better answers ; )
oh have also only heard bad things about Blu...

You will want to get into other devices and liquid later. I didn't think I would either, but later I did. In the beginning everything is just so overwhelming... my advice is, no matter what you go with, keep it simple for now.

Good recommendations, I'm sure. I use a Joye eGo (or a Riva...same thing, basically) and I love it. Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo Liberty-Flights (the link) has eGo kits right now on sale for $39.99 which is a very, very low price for an eGo. They only have 7 of them left....white ones (beautiful)....so if you are interested, go quickly. Also, their shipping is only $2.99 and I get my stuff from them in about 2 days. They are great. The eGo is a 510, and comes with cartridges and atomizers, but can also use cartomizers (which are great for a trip.....easy.) Good luck. I know I would NOT want to start a 1200 mile car trip without my eGo.

If I was you, I would probably get an Ego with the built-in passthru, and a converter so you can plug it into the car lighter.
And as much as I don't like cartomizers myself, I would probably get them if you're going to be doing that much driving.

The built-in passthru makes this setup very flexible and limits how much stuff you have to lug around.

Step, if you smoke 1 pack of M Reds, buy an eGO and forget the rest IMO. That is moderate to heavy smoking AND you smoke reds. You need power. Forget all of the minis - you will not be happy with them, IMO.

Smoking reds you may even end up dripping. 1/2 pack of ultralights a mini might be fine. But I do not see happiness in your future with a mini.
