You will want to get into other devices and liquid later. I didn't think I would either, but later I did. In the beginning everything is just so overwhelming... my advice is, no matter what you go with, keep it simple for now.

+1 again.

the best bet when starting is to pick something that's easy to use. once you get the feel for vaping, learning how long batteries last and the like, then you can truly start to see what your needs are. at first it's best to keep it as easy and hassle free as possible.

If you just want to use prefilled cartomizers...as in don't want to mess with any juice at all
Then I agree the smoketip others mentions, or any kr808 cartomizer system is the only way to go, you simply get the best two piece units with a kr808 and I know of few 510 cartomizers that you can get prefilled at the same price

LeCig D1 - PigCig Mega Battery
The piccig is a great unit for kr808 lovers as it has all the big battery goodness of an ego while allowing you to use kr808 carto's without an adapter
808D-1 - 16mg
you can also get prefilled at lecig at a good price as well.

but this may be what you want as well
LeCig D1 Trucker Kit
get the "trucker kit" which plugs into the car power outlet and then get some prefilled cartomizers...lots of them

all that being said, many people prefer messing around with liquids to prefills but that is up to you.

Step, if you smoke 1 pack of M Reds, buy an eGO and forget the rest IMO. That is moderate to heavy smoking AND you smoke reds. You need power. Forget all of the minis - you will not be happy with them, IMO.

from my experience that's not always the case. i smoked 2 packs a day of american spirits and menthol 100s and the minis worked just fine for me.

frankly i think the claims that minis won't help a "heavy smoker" are a myth. i can see how one wouldn't be satisfied by a blu, but an 808 is a different story. the ego is not the be all and end all of e-cigarettes despite what the fanboys claim. sorry.

Not want to mess with juice? How many people like pre-filled? They are horrible and the cost is crazy. I see zero benefit of going that route. Taste sucks, cost sucks. To each their own but if I only bought pre-filled minis I would quickly return to analogs.

If someone is too lazy to take 8 seconds to drop 15 drops in a cartomizer, then well, not sure what advice to give. But that would be the ONLY reason to go that route.

Now if someone doesn't want to mess with atty's/carts - I get that. The hassle is not worth the benefit to me.

Any person that vapes will use juice UNLESS:

1. Unlimited funds

AND

2. They like the taste of pre-filled.

OR

3. They don't know any better.

The eGO = battery life. For most heavy smokers buying a mini is less than genius for a very simple reason - people tend to vape more than they smoked. There is nothing magical about the eGO. It is simply do you want to hassle with charging 6 - 10 batteries a day - or not. I choose not. It isn't any kind of a myth - it is how much hassle do you want to deal with.

If a heavy vaper, and a mini lasted 1.5 hours per charge, you would have to charge up to 10 batteries a day. Would I personally be happy with that? Obviously no. Not happening.

Yeah there are plenty of pre-filled 510 carto's. But no reason to only use those, makes no sense. Taste is marginal - at best - and refilling tastes better and cheaper.

Here are LiteCigs for example:

In my view, pre-filled cartos are for gifts and for newbs to try. If people ACTUALLY become vapers they have no use or value. Why would someone want to pay more for less taste?

They don't make pre-filled 510 cartomizers?

Good question DC2, I believe I saw some at one vendor at some outrageous price...and I know goodprophets has them for 4 bucks a pop the cheapest I have seen...4 bucks for 2ml of liquid is a bit much as I would need at least one and a half of those a day.

you can get kr808 prefills for 6-8 bucks for a pack of 5 (though I have seen them for as much as $10)
smoketip has 30 for $53
and I think the kr808 prefilled scene has a larger selection of flavors. Basically you can smoke prefills on a kr808 for around 4 bucks a day assuming you use 3 carto's a day.

Of course it is cheaper to use juice and fill it yourself, that is true of any model but there is no reason someone should feel forced to do so.

I think to many are forgetting the spirit of this post. Here we have a non-vapor looking to go Vapor for a 1200mi road trip for under sixty dollars. I'm pretty sure the only way to do that is to spend 20-30 dollars on a car charger and a usb passthru unit, and then whatever is left on prefilled carts if you don't want to mess with juice. Really if your starting out with zero equipment and want to make that kind of trip for under 60 bucks,, well realistically it probably won't work, unfortunately there is a bit of an overhead to getting started in the world of e ciggs, and I'd say its closer to about a 100 bucks. But, don't let that discourage, its well worth the buy in.

The best place to get educated on getting it done cheap for beginners is probably here:

The spirit of the post is battery life and 1 pack a day of reds. If there was ever a definition of buying an eGO this is it. Buying a mini or something under this scenario is pure silliness in my view.

An eGO on sale is $40. A box or two of cartomizers gets the person to less than $60. There is juice needed also though.

No way your going to get an Ego with enough supplies for a 1200mi trip under 60 bucks, thats my point. I would suggest the ego as well (I already did I believe) for anyone who can't deal with wire. But, at the end of the day the cheapest way to go is just keeping a passthru plugged in. Then you'll have enough money left over to (maybe) get just enough cartomizers and/or supplies.

Count me in the DocWyatt camp. My 1st and only was TW's version of the EGO (Tornado). Gives the battery life I need (change once each day) and can be 3-piece or 2-piece. Did the cartridges for a couple of months and have gone almost exclusively to dripping. I know that all of this may sound somewhat intimidating to a newbie, but as most of us know, it is not at all difficult. Did try the cartomizer route once, but found it too dry compared to dripping.
