ImYour salt, I have an auto battery and 2 manual batts. I actually do like the auto one, but I definitely prefer the manuals, which, BTW, I was sure I wouldn't like. 
But, once my attys woke up and started really producing a lot of vapor, I started liking the auto battery too, and in fact, I'm gonna order a second one as a backup.
In my experience, the auto batt doesn't produce quite the same amount of vapor or throat hit as my manual ones do, but sometimes I really just don't want that much so I prefer the auto one at those times. Altho, it produces plenty of vapor/throat hit, just not quite as much.
Another weird thing I noticed (and if anyone else noticed this, chime in) is that my auto battery is heavier than the manual ones. Don't have a scale to actually weigh them on, but in hand to hand comparison, it's obvious the auto one is heavier. So if that's the case with all of them, I would think in terms of driving and holding one in your mouth (between your teeth) the manual ones would be easier since they're lighter.
