sorry that was a type-O......

I knew that ...lol How about on a mec. A Big -- NO --- to protected batteries right ..?!?

because I've seen un goddly mAw ratings for protected batteries & I only recently started looking at VV / VW "stick like" mods
( have an IPV3) so the protected battery thing was freaking me out

By protection do you mean venting protection or circuit protection?

The problem with protected batts is that they are mostly not made to handle the draw of the typical atomizer. Granted your vamo and most Regulated mods have internal protection circuts, BUT the protection circuit of the battery can interfer with that. KILLING both systems. This is why it is recommended to use a battery rated higher than the power expected to be applied to the atomizer even with a regulated mod with protective circuits. Circuit that make it possible if un-advised to use lower than optimally rated batteries, in regulated mods.

would you use a higher mAw PROTECTED 18650 on a VAMO Device ??

I'm confused would you EVER want to use a Protected battery either plain Mech Mod or VV/VW
like the VAMO ??

No to both questions.

You should be using IMR or IMR/hybrid, safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries batteries in all your mods. Your main concern should be the CDR of the battery, not the mAh. You also should be using 30A batteries in your IPV 150 watt mod.

I only use the correct batteries in my mechs and my IPV3 Sony VTC4 & I found fives oh and the Samsung RC's seem very nice too..
I keep the mech batteries separate from the pairs I use for the IPV3 -- blah blah I try hard to be safe ---

Its just in my limited experience I stumbled upon '''circuit protection batteries''' somewhere in my grandiose battery search
(one MUST study else one blows their face off -- not so lol- )
and I wanted to see if they had ANY use what so ever in our venue and assuredly they do not...

Oh and lastly... one cannot -- that I am aware of -- ( please please correct me if appropriate I'd love to know how .... sans a 15K battery validation unit )

validate the Continuous Discharge rate of your battery anyway..
Even the new XStar charger the VC2 will only validate the mAw that it has successfully replaced into your cell not its full capabilities ..

I'm charging -- supposed Sony VTC5's right this second... in it

Thanks guys ... unless someone knows a viable way to validate
Continuous Discharge Rate I'm pretty sure were done here ...

There is no way to KNOW.... It's not possible for every vaper to fully validate anything about vaping. Or anything else for that matter. There is always the possibility that some evil company is out to kill their customers or just don't care and will put anything on a label to get you to buy their wares.

This is why you should buy recommended types of batteries from REPUTABLE suppliers.

As 93gc40 said, there is no easy way to validate the CDR of the batteries you own, but there are people that have tested most of the batteries we use.

I spend hours reading battery reports and testing (among other things) at CandlePower Forums

If you think we take batteries seriously, these guys take it to another level.

Also, flashlights...

well see that's why I wouldn't order from Mr Joe vaper off of Ebay or something

I got my ( maybe ) Sony VTC5's from Vape95 ( I believe they are real) as I stated in another thread...
and everyone says in that thread that Vape95 are hard core on batteries and these should be legit....

I wasn't Kewel with the price but I wanted a couple (4, actually ) of the real deal

.. honestly in retrospect my VTC4's are performing better than the VTC5's but
that could of course be the age of the cell since VTC5's don't really exist anymore and these may be legit just old ..,.
