I have been vaping for a week and I have a problem. I have to continually top off the cart like every 6-7 puffs in order to get vapor. Now, I have been reusing the carts - how long do you use a cart and top off before you start a new cart? and can you reuse a cart? I vaguely remember reading a post about washing the filler - does anyone know if that works and could provide me with a link? I am smoking VG - could that have anything to do with it? I have tried blowing out the atomizer, but I think it is a cart problem because I get lots of vapor when I top off. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Besides this problem, I feel like I am getting a handle on the switch from analogs to ecigs!

I use the same cartridge, but not the same filler. Instead I use the pyramid tea bags from Lipton. I'm not sure how many puffs I get per cart, but it is not unusual for me to fill it with about 8 - 10 drops before I feel it could use a refill.

They provide a clean taste, without much of a fuss. They are also very easy to clean for re-use. I find the key factor is not to use an entire bag, as it only takes a little to hold on to the liquid.

Here is a link with how some people use the tea bags for filling.

Sturrs...6-7 puffs is not too bad - the 510 cart doesn't hold much liquid to begin with. I tend to use a cart for a week then toss it...don't like to mess with it. And blank carts are fairly cheap. If the filler isn't wicking good, try cutting a little off the side, refluff it and put it back in. I find this helps the liquid wick better and it will last longer before you have to top off. Just do a little at a time so you don't wind up getting liquid in your mouth.

It pittered out again - maybe this is normal?

Nah you should be getting more than seven good hits. When I replied to your post I filled my cart, and have been drawing from it since. In my own experience the pyramid tea bags work best. They don't seem to get clogged with my mixes which at times can be 65% VG.

Cart+atty sort of sucks compared to cartomizers. But the blue foam will help. On a full fill remove the foam, fill the juice cup 1/2 way, insert the foam tapered end first and press it down into the liquid to wet it (an unbent small smooth paperclip helps). Then reposition the foam even with the top edge of the juice cup. Top it off with 2-3 drops or whatever it needs to look damp on top but not a puddle. While vaping, top off as needed (however many drops it needs to look damp). When topping off doesn't help any more, do a full fill.

And buy some Boge cartomizers. For slim 510 you use standard resistance (around 3 ohms). If you can find the 2.5 ones those would be hotter and should still be OK on slim 510 but are hard to find and will use your battery charge faster. The 2.0 LR ones should only be used on fat batteries and mods 450mah+ and use charge even faster.

I use thin juices with Boge to get good carto life. 20% or less VG and I avoid any juices that seem to drop a lot of carto-clogging sediment (also clogs atomizers). I usually can get over a week of use out of a Boge.

NOTE - Cartos need to be damp everywhere inside to work well and not singe. If you have a slim 510 with auto batteries you will need to be extra careful that your carto is not going to leak before you put if back on the battery. If a carto leaks it will leak right where an auto battery can be damaged or killed by juice. You keep a carto damp with juice. It holds twice as much as a cart and should need juice less often.
